If you actually read what I said rather than interpreting it as something else entirely I would be fine with it.

I never said that they were the Showtime Lakers. Or that they have proved to do anything close to them.

I was simply saying that they aspire to emulate that style of basketball. Morons.
Just for starters--and this really is the least of the problems with your premise--in the '80s the game was much, much more fast-paced than it is now. Do you seriously believe that the same shit would work today?

Christmas day is going to be so fucking epic. Somebody is going to have a complete meltdown, I can't wait to see if it's a Heat fan or a Laker fan. Either way we all win.

I haven't watched a single Timberwolves game all season, why is their record so shitty? Seems like they should be at least a .400 team with Love and Beasley.

I can only speak on the game they played the Bulls, they had no ball movement.

Beasley looked terrible, not sure if he is always like this having no effect on the game at all.

Love looked like Love, a really talented individual wasting his talents. He could really help a good team.

Besides that, I don't remember the game at all.

He also stated: No rebounds no rings.

Then you should know, that as currently constructed, your team will not win this year.

Michael Cooper hates your post no matter if it was for real or not.

I hurt making it, but saying the Heat want to be Showtime and run all day reveals all sorts of dumb in that post.

The problem with the Wolves is very simple: Love is the only intelligent player on the team. There are some other players with talent on the team but they all make dumb errors constantly. Rambis just exacerbates all the team's natural problems.

Actually I doubt it. Lakers-age dismissed the Lakers/Cavs game entirely last year.

Timberwolves are just... they're bad, and there are a lot of reasons.

Fundamental scheme problems on offense and defense and point guard play.

The style and speed has already worked for the Heat. That's my point, they've used that in the past eleven games that they have won. He was asking what has changed since the beginning of the season and I'm relaying what Spoe has been emphasizing in practice and in post game interviews. Riley has enforced this notion onto Spoelstra.

I don't know why you are all looking at me like I'm crazy when Magic himself stated that the Heat should increase their speed of play, especially since they have athletic players like LeBron and Wade.

Anthony guarded Amare great tonight.
Nice to know that you can bank on defensive anchor Joel Anthony getting the job done night in and night out though.

No you can't bank on Joel Anthony for shit. I hate the dude. He can't catch a pass or rebound for shit. But he was an Amare stopper tonight. That's all that matters.

Makes sense, thats a shame, I was hoping Beasley would have a chance to shine on the Wolves and the two of them could make something happen.

The Heat haven't even been able to impose their style of play on the last 11 teams they faced. Bucks in particular did what they always do and turned the game into excruciating torture. What makes you think that when they face all the elite defensive teams in the playoffs they will suddenly be able to run them off the court?

Yes, because running up and down the court against defensive powerhouses like the Excremento Kings means that style will work against Boston in the playoffs when the game becomes much more half-court oriented.

Magic has proven to be an excellent coach in the past.

You are crazy. But that's expected I see. Any reasonable person could tell that D was killing the Knicks in the 2nd half.

Nah it was just bad offense. Knicks were chucking 3s and missing layups. Pretty easy to see.

Knicks carved Miami up in the first half for 57 points. When a good offensive team executes, they can score at will on Miami. Because their big men are Joel Anthony and Chris Bosh. Duh.

So now you are questioning Magic's basketball IQ?

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound right now? I can't tell if it's blatant trolling or not.

You guys are unbelievable. I'm done.

The real difference between the Heat now and when they were struggling is how Wade is playing and there's less Le-Iso at the top of the key. Early in the season there was a lot of Le-ISO going on, they only seem to go to that when Wade is on the bench now and it's just LeBron + Role players. They move the ball more when Wade/LeBron are on the floor together, there's a conscious effort to swing the ball, and Wade gets a lot more iso situations of his own than he did earlier.

You can even track it in LeBrons assist numbers, he had really high assist totals the first few weeks, but that wasn't resulting in wins because it's obvious the ball was sticking.

I wonder if Kurt Rambis thinks the defensive problems are no big deal still? Rudy Fernandez looks like Reggie Miller, the Wolves have watched the Blazers go by them on cuts all night, and Portland is shooting 66%. I hate Rambis so much.

He's having a good year. He can play, but a lot of it is being the only B+ scorer on a crappy team.

If Portland played any defense tonight and wasn't turning it over like a drunk girl at a frat party, they'd be up double right now. Minnesota has some good pieces, but damn, that defense kills them.

How didn't Ridnour get yanked for that terrible three in transition in the first??

For the Heat it will be the most important game of their life, for the Lakers it's just a Saturday game.

Larry Brown is a hall of fame coach who believes in ignoring the 3pt line on both ends of the court - but what do I know? I'm just some guy!

Um yeah. Forget what I said earlier about the T-Pups only needing 100 points to win tonight.

Let LMA go for 20 on 9-12 and Fernandez go for 18 on 7-8, and you don't need B-Roy to win.

This is a great point and I think Lakers fans should keep using it to justify losses in advance.

They've been doing that for the past 3 Christmas games.

Hold on a second..

I keep reading this about the Heat beating who they are supposed to.. But according to NBAGAF they are a mediocre team or an Average team at best. Since when does an Average team go on an 11 game win streak?

Either you are saying they are an Elite team thus negating alot of this whole conversation or they weren't really supposed to beat these 11 teams and are some sort of surprise team(LOL) make up your mind gaf.

Rambis doesn't see any issues with his pack the paint scheme. It's not that big a deal. Yes, I'm going to quote that until his ass is out on the street.

And, yeah. Ridnour is so terrible. I don't know what Flynn has to do to play more.

First part is true, but second part is nonsense. This is a damn important a game for the Lakers as well. Not as vital as for the Heat, but still enough that its definitely not "just a saturday game" to them.

The Knicks? Just the latest example really.

The problem with his pack it in scheme is that your bigs are terrible defensively -- especially with Darko out. LMA feasted on it with ease. I don't recall a single jumpshot from him tonight.

@ bolded: since the havenots of the league became the overwhelming majority.

Elite = contender, deep playoff run (conference finals)

and then there's everyone else, because there isn't that much difference between the bottom of the barrel and any team worse than the Hawks.

Kobe Bryant's ego has this game etched and highlighted on his brain's calendar.

After all, he was asked a seemingly innocent question about whether he feels he is sort of passing the torch to the younger players of the league before the Lakers played the Bulls and he angrily replied with vulgarity" I aint passing shit..."

To be fair though, Derrick Rose thought these comments were badass and loved the attitude after he thoroughly outplayed Kobe.

I think it would be comical, no comical is not the word more like RETARDED to say that Miami is not a title contender..

The list is simple

Lakers
Celtics
Spurs
Mavs
Heat
Magic

thats it... Yes I am including the Mavs.. I still belive.

The Rockets won 22 in a row a few years ago and weren't very good at all. The Heat are contenders, but that doesn't mean streak flukes don't happen.
Portland won 13 in a row the same year, ended up .500 and missed the playoffs, too.
