To be honest, the Lakers aren't going to beat the Spurs if they keep playing like they have. However, I don't think we will see the same Lakers team in that game that we have for the past few weeks, because I think that Phil Jackson (if not the Lakers themselves) takes the Spurs very seriously.

The Spurs have Bonner in their front court. :lol :lol

Plus Phil Jackson shits on CIA Pop all the time.

And the Lakers start Fisher. What's your point?

Anyway, the reason PJ will take them seriously has nothing to do with who is the better coach and everything to do with HCA.

In order to beat the Lakers in the playoffs, you need a great front court.

Jesus christ, I thought you guys would have learned after laughing at the Suns small ball failure. That shit doesn't win championships, it wins regular season games.

Why is Derek Fisher playing 27mpg on a team with Blake, Brown and Barnes? Yet Kobe's minutes are being curtailed? This is idiotic on so many levels

shh don't bring that up with brandy around

poor kids happy after a good win. why you gotta go on and remind her of those bad memories now?

Oh I'm just reminding everyone how a veteran team having a great start means balls unless you win it all.

That post was for everyone.

I can't tell if you're serious, so I'll just go ahead and post this:

2008 Western Conference Finals L.A. Lakers 4 - 1 San Antonio Spurs
2004 Western Conference Semis L.A. Lakers 4 - 2 San Antonio Spurs
2003 Western Conference Semis L.A. Lakers 2 - 4 San Antonio Spurs
2002 Western Conference Semis L.A. Lakers 4 - 1 San Antonio Spurs
2001 Western Conference Finals L.A. Lakers 4 - 0 San Antonio Spurs
1999 Western Conference Semis L.A. Lakers 0 - 4 San Antonio Spurs
1995 Western Conference Semis L.A. Lakers 2 - 4 San Antonio Spurs
1988 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 3 - 0 San Antonio Spurs
1986 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 3 - 0 San Antonio Spurs
1983 Western Conference Finals L.A. Lakers 4 - 2 San Antonio Spurs
1982 Western Conference Finals L.A. Lakers 4 - 0 San Antonio Spurs

I give two shits about the Spurs, with or without HCA. Night.

Blasphemy!

Fisher is on another level. He's just sacrificing his game for the good of the team.

So Dirk passed Bird as the 25th highest scorer in history. And it looks like he is only 20 games away from 23rd, and he is still in his prime. I really hope we can win a championship with him.

"I give two shits"

Such vulgar language.

And really, thats such a terrible phrase. Doesn't even make sense. You are a trader of shits? You barter in shits? What are you trading for? You give 2 shits for the Spurs? Thats a pretty lopsided trade. Not fair at all. Maybe you should stop trading, and move on to another occupation. Even Chris Wallace wouldn't agree to a deal like that.

Unless you mean you take two shits on the Spurs? Well thats fairly difficult since the Spurs are a team...you'd have to spread those shits around, and I'd imagine they'd have to be big, day-after-Thanksgiving size shits. And besides, thats disgusting. Even Clipper fans haven't resorted to that type of kinky fetishism...they just dabble in the occasional masochistic fantasy.

smh. Behavior unbecoming of a fan of a future 5th seed. I expected better from a Laker fan.

Free Roddy, etc., etc.

Want me to bring up the Celtics-Lakers' record after the same number of games? History doesn't guarantee shit.

Actually, when the players don't change, it kinda does. Celtics have given us our only playoff loss in the last three years. Spurs have one game.

And you're missing the point. HCA didn't really matter--Spurs had it before. And lost.

Lakers in 2007-08 18-10 @ Christmas Day game, finished 57-25 Lost NBA Final to BOS.

Czzz in 2008-09 - 27-3 @ Christmas Day game, finished 62-20 Lost in the Semis to ORL.

Lakers in 2008-09 24-5 @ Christmas Day game, finished 65-17 Won NBA Final over ORL.

Lakers in 2009-10 23-5 @ Christmas Day game, finished 57-25 Won NBA Final over BOS.

LOLakers.

How the fuck did you lose the Bucks at home? Not only did they play a back-to-back after Portland (extremely shorthanded nonetheless) took them out to pasture, but they were missing some of their best players.

By not taking the game seriously, not playing 48 minutes and looking past the Bucks?

It's pretty simple, actually.

Yea, we were as weak as Roy's knees tonight.

That's inexcusable, but I guess Lakers gonna Lake.

Gasol played 38 minutes, too. That should piss you off significantly, too.

The Mavs had their streak ruined by the Bucks also. They are sneaky mother fuckers.

Same way the Jazz might lose to the Wolves tomorrow.

It's one thing to lose to a healthy Bucks team with all of their players in tact, because eventhough they are a bad offensive team, they are one of the top teams defensively.

But no Jennings and no Magette? That's inexcusable.

Nothing surprises me with this team anymore.

Actually it hasn't in the last few years.

You could tell me that they beat the Bucks by 20 or lost by 20 and neither would surprise me.

This team has a history of being Jeckyll and Hyde, "turn it on and eek out a W" and wins like the one over the Clippers only help that bullshit culture continue to thrive.

There's always games like that each season, I'm not sure why it's significant.

We lost to the Knicks, at home, the same year we went 15-1.

We win when we have to. Period.

That's why all the "ZOMG LOLakers lost!" and "Holy shit, they might not beat the Spurs!" posts are more amusing than anything else. We win 3 of 4 games, consistently. We win our must-win games. And we show up in the playoffs. That's it.

You are going to have to explain that reference to me. Well you do not have to, but I do not get it.
As in Carlisle needs to give Roddy major minutes once he's healthy.

And stop playing Barea so much.

WTF?

Dude, this team isn't that team.

This team would get ran off the floor by that 2001 squad.

Honestly the Bucks are probably better offensively without Jennings and Maggette chucking it up.

Not from what I watched last night. That team has no shortage of chuckers regardless of those two.

I wish they had those players today. Boykins was on fire today.

Yea, the playoffs version. The regular season version? Not really.

You remember that season. We didn't even wake up until the 4-0 road trip...after the Knicks game.

Point is, since the Lakers became contenders the culture has been to not give a shit unless absolutely pressed.

I am still not sure about Roddy, but either way he is not healthy right now and I would rather see him sit it out until he is. As for Barea, he is not a top tier player, but when you are playing in a boring ass stadium with an unenthusiastic crowd like Miami, his naive enthusiasm for the game does well for the team. He is like a Bill Bates. He helps to keep the team from falling asleep when he is on the court.
