Until proven otherwise, yes.

I get why it might be hard for you to understand, being garbage year in and out.

And of course you result to team bashing. I wonder if you were talking this amount of shit when the Lakers were going through season after season of Kome.

I always love how the conclusion for you is always the Lakers winning it all in the end - no matter what. Like there's no possible chance they won't win it or possibly even not make the Finals?

I'm proud Lakers-age is now on to the third stage: bargaining

So we'll see, we're in "dont give a fuck" mode. THis will probably be another year where we don't take the West, but win anyway.

bullshit. We saw today what can happen if we rely on Kobe and Pau to do everything offensively. I don't get this mantra with some Laker fans (really for the last couple of seasons) that the offense is fine and doens't need fixing and we need to get help on defense. The offense is not fine. We scored like 80 points today. And a lot of that is because teams can neutralize Kobe and Pau when they play good D. I can't for the life of me understand how any Laker fan wouldn't trade Drew for Melo in a fucking heartbeat. Shit I'd chip in gas money to send Drew to the airport. Not saying the trade is possible, but I'm just saying hypothetically, that shit is a no brainer.

Ninja Scooter said:
depends on the pace the other teams keep. This season has been crazy in that almost every other elite team has gone on insane winning streaks. If they keep that up than yeah Lakers will have to fight on the road in the playoffs. If the Spurs and Heat keep winning 10 or 12 for every loss than we will have to settle for a lower seed. If they level off a bit Lakers have a chance of making up some room, but not if we don't get our shit together.

Thanks to Magic though, we lost no ground on the Czzz.

Portland always has trouble playing in GS.

yea but i thought with the way LMA has played the last few games, Steph Curry still injured (though playing), and the obvious big advantage, that they could take this one.

Apparently not.

It was a tad easier to get tickets then.

I got love for your squad though, your series was more entertaining than the Nets, so there is that.

Not everyone can be regular season champs.

smh

Remember how losing on Christmas Day last year mattered?

I'll tell you what Laker fans don't do:

Brag about how their team is gonna roll over another team in the playoffs and then proceed to get swept.

Have you reached Acceptance on that yet?

Who's our top assistant coach?
(12-23) 21:53 PST -- Warriors coach Keith Smart may have said it most accurately when he described Stephen Silas as irreplaceable.

Silas on Wednesday left his post as the Warriors' second assistant coach to join the staff of his father, Paul, who was named interim coach in Charlotte. The move leaves Smart without his closest confidant in the organization and the Warriors' dynamic guard tandem without its mentor.

"I'm going to miss him a lot, man," point guard Stephen Curry said. "That was my go-to assistant for watching film, studying my game and continuing to learn. I always went to him for advice. Personally, he's my guy."

Silas got an offer - maybe a mandate - from his father early Wednesday, and the son couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with family, bump his role to top assistant and get a financial guarantee for the 2011-12 season. Silas' contract with the Warriors was to expire this summer.

His time with the Warriors had more impact than just his infectious smile and his title as second assistant, behind Jerry Sichting. This was Silas' fifth season with the Warriors, and he is credited with Monta Ellis' maturation as a player and leader and Curry's adjustment to playing point guard.

"He's like a brother to me, and he's very, very important to a lot of guys around here," Smart said. "We'll miss the man, the person who he is and his caring heart, but he also brought a lot of expertise to game preparation. We're going to miss everything about him."

Smart said he has at least a couple of guys in mind to fill the position. It's also possible that the Warriors will promote from within, moving Calbert Cheaney up a seat and making shooting coach Mark Price a full-time assistant.
Curry's father, Dell, played 16 seasons in the NBA and is working in Charlotte as a TV commentator for the Bobcats.
"I'm kind of jealous" of Silas, Curry said before issuing a joking trade demand. "I'm going to try to get my ticket for tonight, so I can be on the same flight."
Fuck yea

Kobe. He mad.

"We always [stink] on Christmas," Bryant said. "I don't think we're mean enough to be able to show up on Christmas Day and play. They should just take us off this day.

"I think these games mean more to our opponents than they do to us. I think we need to get that straight. We need to play with more focus and put more importance on these games. I don't like it."

The bigger problem for Bryant outside of the Lakers' performance on Christmas Day is the common perception that the Lakers' season doesn't really start until the playoffs begin. That just because the Lakers got blown out last Christmas and went on to win the championship, this game really doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.

"It's your job. You need to show up and work," Bryant said like an angry boss talking about his habitually late employees. "I don't buy that crap. Show up and get to work."

When the Lakers have shown up and worked like a team they've played like a two-time defending champion capable of winning a third straight title, but when they haven't they've been embarrassed at home and looked up at empty seats as they've walked off the court.

"It's not about getting embarrassed," Bryant said. "I don't get embarrassed. It's about winning. It's the competitiveness of winning the game. I don't like losing. I don't care what anybody thinks. I just don't like losing, period."

FEELING THE HEAT: Well, that didn't take long. Former Heat players Ricky Davis and Mike James both are on the outs with their teams in China, according to Niubball.com, which tracks such matters. James has scored, but his team has struggled in the standings, while Davis is playing alongside an offensive-minded point guard and has had issues about not being fed when open.

Q: Even going back to last season, I noticed (the two times I saw him do it) that Joel Anthony was able to hit the 12-foot jumper when open, if he doesn’t rush it. Do you know if the Heat are working with him to become reliable with that shot like Haslem? — Kevin.

A: I think the Heat’s approach with Joel is to ask him to do as little “extra” as possible, and instead rely on his hustle and energy. No matter the effort put into the process, I don’t think Joel can ever emerge as a skill player. He wasn’t even a factor Saturday, playing just 3:24.

Yikes :lol

If this thread wasn't moderated by David Stern, I might post more. However, it seems someone finds me too disruptive and has banned me twice now. Meanwhile Branduil goes on a "We Are Marshal" rant and gets nothing. So I'd post more, but rampant cronyism has cut my posting down. I've been on chat through thick and thin. Sharp and Lovingsteam can attest to that. If Blackace wasn't such a douche about this thread, I'd post when we were up or down. As it stands, I'll pick my spots. So if Stern doesn't ban me past the ASG for calling him Stern, then I'll post again then.

Today was a special day because I promised Lovingsteam I'd troll his ass coming and going during the game. Mission accomplished. We already won! PEACE.

Anyway, it's nice to see him audibly pissed and not just shrug it off as a meaningless Christmas game.

I don't think he shrugged it off before. He's a pretty private individual and has rarely gone to the press to voice his opinions. This sort of stuff is probably just something kept in house before. We're just seeing Kobe open up a little bit more every year.

Miami dominated LA. I doubt they could do it in a seven game series, and who knows how LeBron and Bosh will respond to actual playoff pressure (Wade is a competitor, he always shows up) but they have to be feeling good about last night.

I don't disagree with you that this game doesn't mean that we will dominate a series, but I disagree with your contention that the reason that we'd fail is the "playoff pressure"... This team continues to get called soft/weak etc, but I don't get it. When it comes to hostile environments, and big stage games, they show up. If we lose, it will be because our opponents are better than us, not because of the playoff pressure.

I agree with that notion for the big three, but you'll never know how the roleplayers perform until you get there. Cavs roleplayers always looked all-world (including Z) until they choked against the good teams. Heat are solid though.

A lot of it will depend on Jones, Miller, Chalmers...if they are not hitting their outside shots then we're guaranteed to lose unless Wade and/or LBJ has a god-like game

Arroyo's been a pretty good spot up shooter this year but Spo seems to have a hard-on for Mario.

There is no such thing as hostile or big pressure environments in Nov/Dec.

I have to agree with this...playing at MSG or against a shitty Cavs team where you got "booed" (which happens everywhere) and called Scottie Pippen (lol) isn't really a big stage----win some games IN boston in the playoffs, that's a big stage.
