That's a horrible trade for the Hawks and makes Odom the backup center for the Lakers.

The Hawks clearly need a change. If Bynum can throw up 20 and 10 or 17 and 9 as the center with Horford playing his natural position then I think the Hawks mightttt consider it, especially with only 2 years left on Drews contract.

Not really sure what Smith does for the Lakers though.

oh dont' get me wrong I dont' want Nene.

At some point you have to sacrifice some. Yeah having depth with bigs is nice, but I'd trade in that advantage for the advantage of having an all star franchise type scorer at the 3 playing alongside Kobe. That to me is a bigger advantage.

We don't need another guy to take shots away from Kobe and Pau. We need an above-garbage PG who can make open shots but also penetrate and dish

oh god Mariah is entering the Aretha Franklin zone. There's no going back from here. Godspeed, Nick Cannon.
You're assuming that he's even faithful to her.

I can't see a dude who cheated on Milian and Ebanks suddenly being content with a woman way older than them.

If this thread wasn't moderated by David Stern, I might post more. However, it seems someone finds me too disruptive and has banned me twice now. Meanwhile Branduil goes on a "We Are Marshal" rant and gets nothing. So I'd post more, but rampant cronyism has cut my posting down. I've been on chat through thick and thin. Sharp and Lovingsteam can attest to that. If Blackace wasn't such a douche about this thread, I'd post when we were up or down. As it stands, I'll pick my spots. So if Stern doesn't ban me past the ASG for calling him Stern, then I'll post again then.

Today was a special day because I promised Lovingsteam I'd troll his ass coming and going during the game. Mission accomplished. We already won! PEACE.

How the hell was that a foul on Afflalo? I hate watching the Thunder.

penetrate and dish huh?

i think like 3 guys do that in this league man

Wizards will give up everyone on the roster not named Wall for Bynum.

If you can get a guy who can put his back to the basket at 7 foot and a penetrating point, building the rest of the team should be a piece of cake in this league.

Especially with dat Harrison Barnes

STFU already. It's stupid comments like yours that make this whole thread look dumb. I've been here longer than you...thick or thin these nuts. It's like people trying to call out MiamiWesker when he's been on this forum longer than many of you. So what if we don't post in this circle-jerk of a thread more often. Don't you even read this shit? It's not like it's an inviting place to post. But we're certainly not bandwagon. But hey...if it gives your e-peen another centimeter, then go for it.

I don't need to come in here and point out how some of you are wet behind the ears on the sport as a whole. The Scottie Pippen debacle exposed that fact. I come here to talk about my team. If you're dIEHARD about anything, maybe you should spend more time in the basketball thread talking about basketball instead of just whinging about basketball fans.

That the best part. Heat fans may get some stick here, but we come here to discuss the sport and the team. You lot come here to discuss us. It's like a purse fight in here. PEACE.

Me STFU? No you STFU. I'm not talking about Heat fans , I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU. You ever hear me rip on Ph33nix? That dude was posting when i was just lurking and the Heat sucked, where the hell were you? I guess we just guys here just werent inviting enough when you sucked so they should be inviting when you start posting after you get Bron and Bosh? People are going to talk about your bandwagoning ass, deal with it. Or don't and stop posting.

Lakers fans stfu about bandwagons. Just cry in your corner. I wanted to save my trolling for the All-Star Game, but every Laker fan bailed out of chat en masse. I should post the transcript it's embarrassing. They bailed from the 2nd quarter. :lol Don't worry. After this game, I'll leave the thread alone until ASB.

However, it needs to be pointed out how overrated the Lakers are, and how hilarious their fanbase is when they face even the slightest bit of adversity. Miami > LA. This shouldn't even be a question anymore. The question now is can we get by the Celts in order to face the Spurs or Mavs. PEACE.

:lol

Goddamn, Durant is fucking nuts on the offensive side of things. His D is actually getting better.

Crazy that hes so young.

Edit: Ruh-roh Kobe commenting on how other teams view their games against them with more importance than what the Lakers view them as. And he Angry! Usually this means he goes on a tear taking the team with him. It also means Lakers fans shouldn't treat these losses so nonchalantly. Smh.

I am beginning to wonder though if the Lakers simply don't match up well against Lebron's teams for whatever reason. On paper the Lakers should do well, but they regularly lose to Lebron's teams. They don't lay eggs like this as often against the other elite teams, even in the regular season.

Food for thought I guess.

Still waiting for this team to show some dominant defense.

Frustrating to watch.
Surely Ron Adams going to Chicago has something (a lot) to do with it. The rotation is the same.

I am not surprised NeNe is having such a good game.

I am heavily intoxicated at the moment trust me I never view these losses nonchalantly.
Just saw that clip. Man Kobe was looking pissed.

Still. It doesn't look like the current staff learned anything from Ron Adams.

The dropoff shouldn't be this bad.

unfortunately we might not know again...I'm deeply terrified of the celtics. that's why i don't really give a shit about anyone else...this team just needs to prove it knows how to beat boston and then i think they'd match up pretty well against everyone else. but we just can't boston...and dallas for that matter

Par for the course.

I had a feeling the Lakers would lay an egg today. They match up poorly with LeBron teams for whatever reason.

This game was a carbon copy of last year's Christmas game.

They will probably drop the Miami game too, just like they did to the Cavs last year.

If the outcome at year's end is a duplicate of of last I'm good.

pretty much what I think; I'd also like to see what we'd do against the new and improved(?) Magic

I didn't get to watch any of the games today but it appears Ray Allen and Nate couldn't hit the broad side of a barn shooting and the Heat are clearly far superior to the Lakers.

My "what if" scenario that would have the most impact in the east (baring injuries) is if Ray Allen just went on a cold streak. Or couldn't find his shot. Watching the Celts, his shooting is just such a large part of their offense I would love to see the Celts numbers for when he goes just cold.

bullshit. We saw today what can happen if we rely on Kobe and Pau to do everything offensively. I don't get this mantra with some Laker fans (really for the last couple of seasons) that the offense is fine and doens't need fixing and we need to get help on defense. The offense is not fine. We scored like 80 points today. And a lot of that is because teams can neutralize Kobe and Pau when they play good D. I can't for the life of me understand how any Laker fan wouldn't trade Drew for Melo in a fucking heartbeat. Shit I'd chip in gas money to send Drew to the airport. Not saying the trade is possible, but I'm just saying hypothetically, that shit is a no brainer.

I've seen Ray go cold but he's a shooter. It happens. I'm trying to determine why Nate Robinson took 15 shots and only hit 2. He lacks the pedigree with those other starters to be taking that many shots and hitting a whopping 2.

Haha maybe, although this time I didn't see your post initially (I don't think!).

But yeah I agree. Looks like it'll probably be up to the Celts to take down the Heat in the playoffs.

I think the problem with the Lakers compared to the Celts is that the Lakes defense isn't as consistent as the Czzz and offensively they don't have enough varied offensive weapons. If Kobe and Pau aren't on, then things go downhill pretty fast. Whereas with the Czz they have 3-4 guys who can give significant offensive contributions and even when they have major offensive droughts they still work their asses off on defense. It seems the Lakers have simultaneous lapses on both offense and defense.

Stern would fine a player about $25K for that. What's the equivalent in ban time?

A good portion of those shots were within the offense. He was wide open a lot, but he didn't have a good game.

Goddamn, I hate Harden's beard but love it at the same time.

I think we can take this one home, the Thuggets don't have the willpower once they get down.

I don't think the offense is fine at all. That's why I want a legit PG. Today, Kobe had to run the offense as well as try to score AND chase Wade around. That's too much but he has to do it cos Fisher can't run the offense and Blake isn't being given the opportunity to even try.

Yeah the scoring needs to improve but the biggest offensive void is at PG...especially with Fish inexplicably playing 28mpg. Decent PG play would bring more scoring but also make scoring easier for the others. Look at our shots vs. Miami's tonight. They got stuff at the rim or wide open jumpers while we took tough shot after tough shot. All because they had 3 or 4 triple-threat guys on the floor at all times. I just don't get why we didn't make a play for Hinrich this year and cut Fish loose. He is TERRIBLE

PS: All that said, I'd do Bynum for Melo if the Nuggets were crazy enough to offer it..

Konex, quit pretending that Mynum has the value to land a superstar in trade value.

Him plus 2 other nice pieces, yes. But the Thuggets aren't giving up Melo for a guy with chronic injury problem.
