Cousins Not Considered In Trades

RealGM said:
DeMarcus Cousins has had an eventful beginning to his NBA career, but sources contend that the Kings aren't interested in trading him.

Sacramento is just 5-23, but they are committed to Cousins and Tyreke Evans as their core.

Kings staff think he's going to be the next Shaq or something. They're definitely not letting him go. I really feel like he could surprise some people in the next 2-3 years.

Yes, 90s were dope for cheesy b-ball movies
I cried at the end of The 6th Man.

Gordon Hayward has a eFG% of 27% on jump shots this season. For reference, the second worst wing shooter in the NBA (Ronnie Brewer) has a eFG% of 33% which is a giant gulf. Hayward is now objectively the worst shooter in the NBA out of the wings.

That episode of Entourage where the Lakers play the Warriors.

Anyone else think Mark Gasol is going to get the max in the off season? Bigmen are pulling out of the draft so this has to help him.

Edit: I also think Scotty Hopson will be a good late pick if he declares this year.

CBSSports.com has learned that the Wolves plan to make a push to acquire Memphis guard O.J. Mayo, whose rights they traded to the Grizzlies on draft night in 2008 in the deal that brought Love to Minnesota. Mayo is frustrated coming off the bench in Memphis and "needs a change," according to one person familiar with the situation. The Wolves envision Mayo playing in the backcourt next season alongside Rubio, who according to a person familiar with the situation has given team officials his word that he will join the Wolves next season. The buyout that Minnesota must pay FC Barcelona is down to $1 million, but it's not clear how Rubio's decision could be affected by a lockout. Even if Rubio comes to Minnesota, there's no guarantee he'll thrive immediately.

Sources say the Wolves also are targeting Anthony Randolph, who is languishing on the Knicks' bench after being acquired from Golden State as part of the sign-and-trade arrangement that landed David Lee in the Bay Area.
Kahn's trying to collect the entire 2008 draft class.

But that Rubio report is so good. I already knew it, but it's nice to see something. We gotta move Flynn fast.

Who could Minnesota give for Mayo?

Picks. They can absorb Mayo's salary without any issues too I think...
Yup. Way under the cap. We have a Memphis first rounder that could go back, Utah's pick this year, some Euro stashes people like Chad Ford seem to be fond of (Paulo Prestes, Nemanja Bjelica). Could take back a bad contract like Thabeet if need be, too.

Is Kobe in a slump or just getting old?
I don't think he is quite 100% healed from his knee surgery yet. The weird thing is he has good lift on his shot but he has almost no explosion on his first step or when moving laterally. I expect that to improve by ASB (that is my magical deadline for everything to be fixed in Lakerland).

Also, this is for the Spurs fans who hate on women and champions:

David Thorpe is the most hindsight is 20/20, flip-floppy draft analyst ever. He talked for months about how Favors should have been taken over Cousins. Killed the Nets in Summer League for taking Favors over Cousins because Cousins had a better Summer League. Then praised the Nets for taking Favors over Cousins when Favors had the better start. Then flip-flopped back to Cousins after three quality games from Cousins. Now is back to Favors.

His most hilarious one is that, pre-draft, he said Landry Fields shouldn't be drafted and he just called Kahn an idiot for not picking Fields at 4th overall. This dude is seriously the most annoying fuck in all of ESPN and that's really saying something.

I didn't think Chad Ford could be surpassed for the most "I never make mistakes!" analyst after he said Dwight Howard was the second best draft prospect predraft of the 2000s when he rated Dwight third in the 2004 draft alone, but he did.

Only thing I know about David Thorpe is that he has a major hard-on for Jrue Holiday. Kept saying last year that he'd eventually be the best guy of the 09 class :lol

All things will work themselves out in due time. In Phil we trust.

I'm glad, in a sense, that the Lakers lost to the Spurs. It shows the Heat came across a Lakers team which has major issues to work out and was nowhere in the right mindset for a showdown. They're going through a major funk at the moment and probably won't be back to peak performance for quite some time.

The Lakers will be doing a lot of soul searching over the next few months and it's best they get started on it now. Best to hit rock bottom so they can get back on track and build something solid from the ground up.

$50 says the Lakers win the title. Any takers?

I agree with you. Now is not the time to panic. The team is built around Kobe and Gasol and Gasol looked fantastic in the first 6 weeks of the season, but he lent his genitals to Richard Jefferson and the results have been predictable. Kobe has not been himself all year but my hope is that he will be able to play himself back to at least what he was last year if not better.

The truth is that if those two guys aren't playing at a championship level we ain't winning shit and if they are playing at a high level we can beat anybody, with or without HCA (even the Celtics if we get some breaks).

What annoys me is the dumb trade talk from panicking Laker fans. There is no trade that is going to fix a team with declining franchise players. We got really lucky with Pau but even a big upgrade at the PG position (which everyone seems to think is our problem) is not going to make any different in the post season. We gotta ride with the guys we have and honestly I like the makeup of this team if we can get healthy for a while and get in a groove.

It looks like Dirk won't play on Thursday. This makes what, the 4th or 5th time the Spurs have played a team without their best player this season?

^Lebron would never allow his team to play like Kobe has allowed Pau's team to play. It really is shameful.

Kobe's team in the pre-Pau's team era was just shameful. Imagine what it would be like if Pau didn't control the team now!

What better options are available to address the Wolves' 2 situation? If all it takes is a package like picks, Corey Brewer, and the rights to Prestes, do it.

edit::lol I just realized the quote on the cover. I swear I didn't see it when I wrote my post.

Every game Dirk isn't playing in is another chance for Dallas management to come to their senses and start looking at potential trades.

there's a difference between being beaten because you got beaten

and being beaten because you don't give a fuck

Jeff-DSA said:
The most ideal situation would be for those matchups to hold but for OKC to win home court from the Lakers.

Leaders of divisions automatically get a top 4 seed, regardless of record. Since LA has no competition in their division (lolz PHX), they are guaranteed a top 4 seed and HCA in the first round. Even if OKC has a better record than LA, they could not overtake them for the 4th seed.

Its not our fault players fake injury to avoid the humiliation that the Spurs hand out every night.

The point was that in Jordaphile's minds he never lost a game, never missed a shot and scored 50 points a game.

You are all truly a sick breed.

You mean Marc? no, i'm not sure about max. He needs to put up some better numbers if he's going to get max straight up. But he'll come very close. His numbers get sort of obscured as he doesn't get many shots in that O, and while he's only grabbing 7 boards per game, he does play along side another very good rebounder. Still, they could be a bit better.

Yes because dem .39 3pt shooters who can create and pass are falling out of the trees! i know the clippers certainly couldn't use someone who could space the floor.
