Takanashi's feminine alter ego has not shown up thus far :(

Eh that was kind of an overused joke in the first season to be honest.

The man hater is the worst part of Working and actually made me drop the show.

I mean, the restaurant would have been sued multiple times if this was at all realistic.

She changes in season 2.
I think the amount of times shes punched somebody in the series thus far can be counted on one hand total. Last episode she didnt punch anybody.

It feels more realistic in S2! The character relationships actually feel believable which they didn't even bother trying to do in S1.

It's almost like I'm watching anime or something.

Jexhius said:
You realise things can be done well and things can be done badly, right? You could say Code Geass and Guilty Crown take some similar elements but one really isn't as good as the other.
Sure, but I'm trying to be an ass here.

Don't follow it so I didn't even notice.

...alright, I noticed a lack of puns.

Bokutomo - 04

Oh wow, I tip my hat off to Rika, I never thought you could turn a mecha into that.

UNIVERSE!!!

Working Prime 3: Corruption 03: Kozue-neechan is such a bitch. Small boobs have their appeal too. :(

I'm not sure if I can say this is better than anything that came up in series 1, but that punchline was fucking worth it. Chicken soup for the jaded animu fan.

Eh, there's a line even in anime terms between requiring suspension of disbelief and being stupid. The man hater was just annoying. It also doesn't help that the main is one of the worst forms of generic male harem lead out there.

BokuTomo 4: Haremshit powers are go!

At least it has mecha porn?

I can't believe dude manages to grab a harem by basically doing nothing. He didn't even have to fall into a girl's crotch or anything amazing like that.

Katanashi isn't all the worst case of generic harem lead. Like, yeah, not at all. Generic Harem lead is the Kyon, Blandomate from kamimemo, or what's his name from clannad/Kanon/Key. All of them, essentially the same exact character. Then you get the bottom of the barrel like the producer from IM@S, or the MC from P4, which I, myself, wouldn't exactly call generic...yet... but idk.

Well, Katanashi doesn't even have a harem...

Guilty Crown - 03

Kinda interesting to have an autistic character for once as the main character.... coulda totally done without the boob scene tho.
Yay for cliffhanger endings

There is no harem in Working. There is literally only one possible romantic pairing involving Katanashi.

Kyon was kinda of refreshing when he first came on the scene. He wasn't a weakling who can't decide anything ever. He was jaded and cynical which was something new. Then everyone decided to get on the Tomokazu Sugita train and ruined the character retroactively.

Is it really so hard to find a likable lead with a personality?

It is when for every good lead we have about ten shows that copy that and ruin it. :\

They all have the same nice guy personality though?

I didn't say he was completely different! But at least he's not some dude who never says anything, never decides but still has cool powers and girls falling all over him.

GRRR

You can tell I'm still pissed off by Guilty Crown 3.

Surprisingly, there haven't been many Lelouch copycats.

Dude, that's anime. When it comes to romance, it's almost all nice guy power fantasies for men and pure girl power fantasies for women.

zeroshiki said:

Probably because it's pretty fucking difficult to actually write someone like Lelouch. Gai from Guilty Crown is the closest they've gotten so far.... and given what Guilty Crown basically is... Yeah.

Meanwhile, ripping off the average jerk with a heart of guild or Tsundere, but putting in half the effort, is far easier.

Working Prime Hunters 04: Oh my, things are starting to move.

So Takanashi likes Poplar for being small and cute but Poplar only likes she-Takanashi. Inami likes Takanashi, but Takanashi believes that Inami likes someone else. Neet-oneechan doesn't want Inami Poplar to date Takanashi, while Nazuna is trying to be positive about Takanashi's relationship with Inami. Inami knows about Sato's feelings for Yachiyo, who loves the manager, but the manager doesn't like her that way. At the same time, Yachiyo is starting to like Sato. Oh, and Yamada wants to hump everyone

More or less?

A woman jumped out of a manhole and took a carton of milk out of her bra. Realistic my arse.

Since when is Working!! a harem?!

Guys, dunno if this question h s already been answered

Where can I watch bleach on my iPad? I have the crunchyroll app, but it won't let me go to previous episodes. I remember I left off at episode 224, and it doesn't go that far back on crunchyroll :(

Any idea?

See, this is why I watch shoujo. At least I get variety in my knights in shining armor!

Sadly true. But Lelouch was super successful so they could have done lame copycats! I'm honestly surprised.

That is a weird thing to say when Lelouch is a copycat Light.

There's quite a bit of difference between but I'll grant that they're both "megalomaniac nutsos wielding immense power". Given that both those series were crazy popular, how come we haven't seen followups, then?

I almost get the impression that the industry is afraid of making followups to super successful shows... Guilty Crown's pretty much the closest to Code Geass since Code Geass, and it's even mirroring it in episode quality. Not that I mind, because of how high the production values have been.

They are likable, safe even, and that's the thing. I can agree on the idea of the archetypes stagnation, but to expect better characters at this point it to basically expect much better writing... and who the fuck am I kidding?

Also, just to stay on track, I still don't feel as if Katanashi fits that mold, bro. He's no deep character, but to say that he's a mold from the template isn't exactly fair.

Mawaru Penguindrum 16

What the whatting what did I just watch.

MASAKO EPISODE YAY
So much random comedy interspersed with WTF moments

Shoujo (or slice of life) has much better variety for their leads which I guess goes to show that the industry itself focuses too much on the women. The males are interchangeable.

For example, Ohana is a genki girl but she's different compared to a normal genki girl haremette.

I don't think Takanashi likes Poplar "that way"; he just likes things that are small and cute. And NEET sister thinks Takanashi is in a relationship with Poplar, not Inami, which makes her worried his bro might turn into a lolicon.

Marrshu said:
Well, he did say almost always boring. >_>

There are 2 main shoujo archetypes. The super strong woman who still needs saving (Tsukushi from HYD, Ayukawa from Kaichou wa Maid, etc) or the dojikko weakling that needs to be saved always (all shoujo ever). They at least mix them up compared to shounen.

Penguin 16:

My mind is so full of fuck right now.

Who
took the world from Sanetoshi? Momoka? Kanba's parents when they did the "event"?

The only takeaway I can come up with now is that
the Looney Toons style "Sign Gag" was epic

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if
Himari isn't The Hat, in some way. Her sexy photoshoot with the maid really reminded me of that episode where Himari was sexing up that cabbage. I guess the theory has always been that it's Momoka, but the Momoka from the flashbacks doesn't seem to fit the personality of the hat/princess.

Everyone decided it was easier to followup infinite stratos.

Well, there was School Days. But that's offending the audience too much, I'm sure.
