2011 GAF Steam ID list, post em!

Since we didn't seem to have a Steam ID thread in the community section and our first spreadsheet got destroyed by some dbag, I decided to organize a new thread dedicated to Steam IDs. The changes will be ongoing, I will try to update the OP once or twice a day.

I have the Steam ID Google doc back up and running after it's meltdown a couple hours back. Talking to a couple other people, I think the best way to proceed is to make viewing the list public, but editing it private.

So, if people are still interested in creating/maintaining a user-edited Steam ID spreadsheet for GAF members, here's how you can take part:

1) Have a google/gmail account

2) PM one of the following requested to be added as an editor:
- kswiston
- Schmattakopf

(more names to be added)

3) When you are added you should get an email notification. After that, you're all set.

Hopefully this attempt is a little more successful. Eventually anyone who is an editor should be able to add new people.

I know a second list was started in my absence earlier (it even had a neat form) but I think allowing people to edit their own info works better. Taking away anonymity should also prevent a repeat of what happened earlier since I can boot the guilty party.

God, some people are pathetic. Probably some banned member who still hangs around like the sad sack motherfucker he is.

For this to work, someone will have to start a new one that requires approval. If it can be ruined by sad people on the internet, it will be ruined by sad people on the internet.

I've seen the PW/Code through "quote this post" thing a few times on gaf, though I don't know how to do it. Should work faster than PMs and as good.

Going to be setting up the list by regions to make it less messy. Eventually I'll end up doing it alphabetically too.

Considering how many names we had with kswiston's list, I think we should go back to that one because editing your own information is good. There are privacy settings and people can be set as editors to revert if necessary.

I am for this if people still want to do it. I have given editor status to whoever requested it. We could just set it up that you have to join to edit. And if there are issues with people, they can be booted easily.

Ya, I think it is easier to do it that way. We have double the names already, and it will be a lot more convenient when people want to change their info. I am going to update the Steam thread.

Added myself via the form. Couldn't decide on a specific genre, so I simply put a period in there. Looks "odd" now...

It pays to read the entire thread. Then I wouldn't have posted in this one...

The OP should be updated with the list we are going to be using, which looks to be the old one since it is a lot more detailed and should be easier to edit.
