also undecided voters are generally idiots.

Eh, I am undecided (leaning Romney but I agree with President Obama more on the issues) and I am stupid so I am a accurate representation of this stereotype. However does one need to possess a high IQ in order to vote?

I do not know if it is necessarily a true stereotype though. I think it more has to do with whether a person is decisive or not than there intellect though I unfortunately abide by your stereotype.

Are there not people with higher IQs who are disinterested in the issues? Are people with lower IQs who read up on the issues to be condemned just because they are not as privileged?

I just find saying people lacking in intellect are the problem with everything to be a great falsehood. I believe people lacking in intellect can be well informed on the issues and positions of candidates. I mean it is not Calculus.
The one that was covered by major news outlets at the time but is now apperently some hidden secret tape they just dug up.

There was a great article about the RNC and about how unprepared he was. They were making constant changes to changes to new material. At least he needs to be well prepared this time.

Yeah, hopefully he can bring his A game and does not fumble this debate. I am not sure if his campaign can afford a poor performance.

Don't be affected by these guys. Undecided means you know both candidates are full of shit and the debates actually mean nothing in terms of what they will actually do as president.

that is great. i do like the term "low information voters".

edit:

i was being dismissive. i am sure they (you) are not all idiots. uninformed really is probably more common. i do resent that it is the least informed that get so much attention during election season though. i would also suggest that if you (maybe not you personally, but "low information voters" in general) do not wish to become informed, maybe consider not voting? im all for extending the franchise, but i am also for using it responsibly.

in other news, may i ask why you would vote for romney if you agree with obama more on the issues? just curious.

I don't understand the bolded. Why are you lean Romney if you agree more with Obama?

Romney will work to repeal Obamacare. He'll also nominate pro-life SCOTUS Justices and get Roe v Wade overturned. He'll also raid the mortgage tax credit to pay for tax cuts to the rich.

That's what he'll say he'll do. Won't do any of it (unless he gets opportunity to nominate a SCJ)

Not that it matters, he has about a 0% chance of winning.

But I'm interested in the promises Obama will make that he won't end up doing also.

No that describes someone who believes the current political process is corrupt and does not vote. Undecided implies you have not yet decided whom you wish to vote for, and that you could conceivably vote for either candidate despite the wide gulf in their beliefs.

How anyone can subscribe to that idea that all candidates are the same is beyond me. You would be patently insane to claim they share equivalent social policies in regards to things like gay and reproductive rights.

yeah like passing health care legislation
getting rid of don't ask don't tell
equal pay for men and women
ending the war in Iraq

calling them both full of shit is perhaps reasonable, and saying neither will keep every campaign promise is almost certainly true. saying they are both the same is stupid and lazy.

How could anyone be undecided? The required circumstances for Obama and Romney to be equally appealing (some odd combination of super specific issues & knowledge of the candidates' positions on said issues) would be so narrow that it's hard to imagine that "undecideds" exist in any significant number.

this is why its much more likely that to be undecided you actually know nothing about either of them.

I don't mind if someone says the political process is corrupt and they refuse to be an active participant. That's fine. But to act as if a campaign promise is some kind of legally binding contract that must be fulfilled or they're a liar is absurd. If the president was the only thing in our government sure, but there's a million different factors that go into play in enacting legislation and policy. How anyone sees a campaign promise as anything other than a pledge to try to do something and not a guarantee is beyond me.

People are actually excited for this? Come on now... Does anyone really think they will ask any hard hitting questions that require nuanced thought and dialogue? The whole thing is scripted/rehearsed from the backstage footage to the after parties!

They should be called "uninformed" voters, not undecided. Uninformed voters are likely the ones who probably don't even know we just landed a rover on Mars. On the other hand people who have examined both candidates, and are still unsure, are ashamed Republicans.

That's why we watch it! Both sides have their own script and when they come together, someone's plan always goes to shit and it's interesting. Only one script wins.
