Hey sethos, random thought, just saw this post of yours.

Out of curiosity what was the problem and how did you finally manage to downsample on your 3011?

Problem was that the monitor didn't accept anything at the resolution I wanted, 3840x2400. Started with 60Hz, went down 5Hz a few times until I hit 40Hz and thought "Is this even working?" tried 20Hz, 5Hz and even 2Hz which it wouldn't accept either.

Few weeks later I saw a guy through a random Google search that he was using that resolution on his U3011 at 30hz ... So I tried 30hz, it worked perfectly, also worked at 33Hz which is the maximum. Found it curious that going really low on the Hz didn't work either, that'd usually lower the pixel clock by a ton.

This is all with automatic timing, didn't do any manual work.

And the 30Hz resolutions just appear in the game menus?

Wow, really?

Skydrive is really starting to piss me off...

Edit: People can see my PSO2 shots, right?

Starting to wonder why it's just my GW2 folder that's screwed up...

Still a no go here.

Desktop res running @ 3840*2160/30Hz and there is no 2160 option in Skyrim's launcher, for example.

Not every game supports these high resolutions out of the box, some of the require .ini modding and stuff like that. Googling your game + 'custom resolution' usually helps.

I'm really looking forward to that. I was ecstatic to hear that development on RadeonPro picked back up and there are a ton of new features being added. I'm just waiting for the official release.

Was reading this on their webpage. I was going to DL that newer beta client but will wait out for the real release.

Is there a reason a lot of that stuff in the last photo *isn't* casting shadows? I'm talking aof the coffe on the table, the shelves and items in the background against the wall... it's all really weird looking.

Unless you have shadows or something pulled back, but given this thread, I doubt it ;)

That's maxed with 4xSGSSAA enhanced through Inspector. It misses spots with lighting on it like that, I've noticed, or makes it worse lol

Something is horribly wrong with your settings if this is supposed to be max with 4xSGSSAA.

Yeah, I was about to say ... That does not look like 4xSGSSAA, the random explosion of jaggies on some objects doesn't help either. I almost get a similar result with 2xMSAA and SMAA.

SGSSAA? How comes their is quite a bit aliasing in your pics? Especially in the cutscene pic you posted.

Honestly, I've used SGSSAA with some games where it doesn't do much, if anything. This game has some sort of sharpening filter or something on it that accentuates jaggies (everything has an outline around it), and it's hideous with FXAA or SMAA.

In motion, SGSSAA toggled hits my framerate, but looks noticeably less jaggy. Maybe something is happening when I screenshot it, but 4xSGSSAA has never gotten rid of all jaggies for me. Only 8x does that, but that's practically unplayable on any game newer than 2005.

Edit: it's probably because its DX11.
