Westbrook's perfect role is a 30ppg a game guy for an annual 7th seed team...like nique back in the day.
Wade was pulling point guard duties during his early career. So was JET. Him being the first decision maker for the Thunder is just going to hold them back.

I doubt Brooks has the balls to make that decision, but it needs to be made.

50th anniversary...

Wilt always looks odd in this picture.

Agreed. Sessions at the point and westbrook at the two makes them a better team. we'll take Iblockya.

He's a fucking idiot.

How do you routinely not pass the ball to the two MVP candidates? He comes into the game and many times doesn't even consider what is going on around him. Just looks for his offense, and goes in.

But for some reason, Miami fans defend that shit like "well, we need the offense from him!". No the fuck you do not. You need a ball handler and someone who can keep the offense from curtailing off whenever Wade or Lebron feel like chillin like they do every 3 quarters. That doesn't equate to a green light.

We do need the offense from him---but he does shoot too much, I agree. He's basically asked to come in with the 2nd unit and jack up shots. But he needs to know more when to get his own and when to not.

But hey at least we know he isn't afraid to shoot so if we start playing hot potato again we can just take everyone out and put him in because at least he will attempt to shoot.

Sessions and varejo for harden and iblockya who says no? gives us youth to tank with this year and gives OKC better equipment to deal with Miami.

Andy is good for 12 and 10 at the 4 and with 32 mins sessions would be a 15 and 6 guy who can play off the ball when westbrook loses his damn mind..

Harden holdss down the 2 for barnes and becomes our 6th man and Ibaka gives us our eventual replacement for jamison's ghost who can bring defense at 2 positions off the bench.

Story on Iverson's financial situation from Vescey: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/more_sports/iverson_isn_broke_down_o9flvhfTwhRD1lNMWBFuyJ
Reports claimed he’d gutted $150 million in earnings over his 14-year career.

From what I’m told, the number is more like $250 million. Let’s not forget A.I’s numerous endorsements, specifically Reebok.

However, hold the bankruptcy proceedings. He is far from insolvent, at least in the real world, if not in harmony with his “nothing in moderation’’ lifestyle. Someone who cared a great deal for Iverson and grasped the extent of his habits, loyalties and generosity protected him to some degree from financial ruination, at 36, at any rate.

A person with a firm grip on the situation informs me Iverson has an account worth $32 million, a principal he is prohibited from touching until 55. In the meantime, it feeds him $1 million annually.

At 45, Iverson is eligible to start drawing on an NBA pension that maxes out at 10 years of active duty, or take whatever’s there as lump sum. He will be entitled roughly to $8,000 per month ($800 per x 10).

If at all possible, Iverson will issue a restraining order against himself until he’s 62 or so. At that time, I’m told, his lump sum will be between $1.5 million and $1.8 million, or he can elect to take monthly checks of approximately $14,000 per.

Boston going to blow things up?
With the Big Three’s window now shut, Ainge is trying to land Atlanta’s Josh Smith and other young studs, while offering up Kevin Garnett. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen can also be had, for young players and draft picks. Rajon Rondo might be leaving, too, with the Lakers and Utah seen as possible destinations.

Except that nobody will help Boston blow things up because nobody wants those players and their contracts for what they're asking for.

KG is expiring and still one of the best players in the league; they can trade him. The only thing is his contract is so huge it's going to be hard to match salaries.

LOL stephen A is destroying Skip on first take

Kareem not a top 10 player in the 80s hahaha

I can't imagine another contending team that would unload salaries for KG

Pau for KG?

No way the Lakers do that unless the Celtics take Kobe with them.

It sucks for Boston that only 4 teams are actually competing this year.

This is going to sound like someone else posting under my username, but I think if Westbrook got his shit together.... well, got his role squared away (which means let him be Wade) then they should be fine.

I talk shit about him all the time but honestly I like watching him and KD play. It seems they have figured how to play with each other without deferring to one another. They are definetly one of the deadlier combos in the leauge. Can't wait for MIA/OKC.

The thing is, they really don't play off each other at all. At least not intelligently. And KD shouldn't be blame free either.

I think OKC is a scoring PF away from winning it all but they are never going to get that. When you stuff the paint they live and die by Westbrooks ability to hit his average via jumpshots. It's going to be hard to win against the Bulls or the Heat in the finals without an interior presence of at least a strong scoring 4.

Ibaka is enough offensively (for now), especially considering the defense he brings. He has a confident jumper and gets buckets on the offensive glass.

If we get 8 PPG from Ibaka, and 5 each from Collison, Perk and Nazr in the playoffs, we'll be fine.

You mean none? Ibaka can only get weakside blocks.

I think Iggy should get some DPOY votes, hes been pretty awesome.

Marion also.

I wish the Thunder kept Ibaka on the court last night. He cannot guard bigs who can shoot from the outside at all (so Ryno) and he couldn't guard Dwight at all. Thunder took that game over when he was riding on the bench and they went small. Great coaching decision to park Ibaka on the bench.

First I thought you were kind of joking, then I actually paid attention to reilo's requirements.

At the same point in Kobe's career, for instance...

http://www.basketball-reference.com...at=&c2comp=ge&c2val=&c3stat=&c3comp=ge&c3val=

25 games

and Dirk

http://www.basketball-reference.com...at=&c2comp=ge&c2val=&c3stat=&c3comp=ge&c3val=

17 games

So ummm......What was your point reilo? At the same point in their careers Dirk and Kobe look just as bad or worse than LeBron for these requirements.

Do you have problems with reading comprehension? I clearly pointed out that the trends Lebron sets in the regular season are opposite of the trends he sets in the playoffs.

Also, neither of those guys won MVPs during those times nor were they considered one of the best players of all time (a label Lebron has laid upon him for many years now).

But hey, keep on trucking.

Jordan had a FG% of 41.4% in the 1996 NBA Finals. With games of 42% (game two), 32% (game four) and 26% (game six).

Kobe Bryant had a FG% of 38.1% in the 2004 NBA Finals. With games of 37% (game one), 31% (game three), 32% (game four), and 33% (game five). In the 2008 Finals he shot 40.5% with games of 35% (game one), 32% (game four), 38% (game five) and 32% (game six). In the 2001 Finals he shot 41.5% with games of 32% (game one) and 39% (game five).

Shit(ty shooting) happens.

Jordan was what? 33 with 30,000 minutes played and had three cookies under his belt already? Ditto for Kobe's three rings in 2004.

Kobe got PLENTY of shit for 2004 and even moreso in 2008. Shitty shooting happens, but not in such a remarkable reversal of trends. For Kobe it was bound to happen, for Lebron it's unfathomable considering the trends he sets in the regular season.

Not a celtics fan but hope they get good again quick since they are the only team within a few hours of me and watching games in person is much less fun when one team has 1 or 0 players worth seeing.

SuperCoolBeas seems super cool. If the Lakers aren't gonna use the TPE, might as well throw some of it and get Beas on the roster. He could bring some scoring off the bench.
A sf lineup of Metta - Barnes - Beas is too much crazy for one position. They'd start a gang before Beas plays in his first game.
