Replacing Ray-Ray with Jason Terry and Courtney Lee as well as KG mentoring Sullinger will probably keep them Top 4 in the East this season.

Oh, and can't forget about DAT DIONTE CHRISTMAS

Boston might be 2nd seed. Terry is a good replacement for Ray Ray,added Lee and healthy wilcox, bradley, pierce on a normal season.

Boston is no better than it was last season, which would have been a 5 game exit to a healthy Boston or Chicago team. They were just fortunate both were hurt.

They didn't have a bad off-season. Just maintained status quo. Nothing to jump around about.

After the recent antics by Ainge, I'd be thrilled with this offseason if I was a Celtics fan.

Maybe they can take Boston to seven this year

But Sullinger was beasting on the Kings doe.

All in all, the Celtics got better (especially when Bradley comes back), while no one in the conference other than Heat and Nets improved.

Bulls with rose will lose to Boston. They have no offense and celtics have both.

Black Sancha being wrong again

Courtney Lee + the Jet alone makes Boston way better than last year. Did you forget they sometimes played Keyon Dooling and broken Pietrus together

Har har. Meant Miami :p

Boston's offense is worse.

And Collins in place of Stiesma and Green is one of the 20 worst NBA players.

Throw in KG's continual decline along with Pierce, and they've maintained status quo.

They could win 1 game versus Miami last season (with Bosh) and the same is true this year. All that matters.

Boston's offense is trash

and rondo is the most overrated PG since NY Failton pt1

Celtics have more guys that can create on their own and score more consistently. Hawks gave bulls trouble on last years playoffs.

Hawks as a below .500 team gave Celtics trouble the year they won it all. So what?

Boston can't score. Chicago, with Rose, could, to a degree.

Boston is the worst offensive rebounding team in the league and it kills their offensive production. Chicago is a great offensive rebounding team, however. It can mask poor efficiency on 1st shot attempts.

Looking back, I suspect Bass only looked good due to standing next to the dried up husk of Rashard.

This can't backfire at all.

Actually, do we boo or cheer for him on opening night? Does he boo us? Its getting confusing.
You both boo each other.

I disagree. They got rid of stiem, who was just a foul machine. Added terry, a legitimate bench scorer, added some more defensive presence in Courtney and outside shooting, Resigned wilcox/Green(Yes green's contract is indefensible but hey....he's still passable nba talent), avery returning healthy and sullinger looks like he's already primed for the nba. Rebounding/Bench was one of there biggest weaknesses and i think they are much better in those areas compared to the team that went up against miami in the last playoffs. They aren't per se a good regular season team because of their age, but are primed to make the conference finals again with chicago throwing away the season and atlanta seemingly going into a rebuild phase...Obviously their chances are better if they can avoid the heat until then.

EDIT: And mamba, atlanta has been giving the celtz problems since way back when. Over their championship run they took the cetlz to a seven game series FYI.

They can make the conference Finals because the East has 1 legit team with Rose hurt. The East fucking blows.

Boston wouldn't have HCA in any round out West. They'd be fighting just to make the playoffs.

If stiesma is a foul machine, btw, what is Collins?

When you include KG and Pierce's continual decline (and Terry), Boston is about the same they were last season. Marginally better at best.

yeah, i know. I was the one who pointed that out.

Bulls with Rose will get vaporized by Heat so there is no competition either way. ORL gave MIA problems but that team is now in shambles. There are some promising teams on the come up though so we will see.

IMO, i don't think the heat are getting out of the east this season. Will see how it goes. I'm predicting either Spurs/Okc take it. Leaning more towards the spurs.

the master plan... the big 4 with space jam vhs at center... it all makes sense lol.

MULTIPLE SOURCES

The Orlando Magic have told rival executives that they might not trade Dwight Howard after all, according to league sources.

An executive who has had discussions with the Magic regarding Howard said Orlando only will trade the star center in a deal that is great for the franchise. The executive said this has been Orlando's stance for the past "week or so."

Another executive who has talked with Orlando said he thinks the Magic may start the season with Howard and wait until the February trade deadline to move him.

Each executive left the door open for posturing, noting that the Magic may be bluffing in hopes of coaxing better offers out of opposing teams. But the overriding sense is that Howard may not be moved for weeks, if not months.

this is a risky but good move by orlando.

+ dwight has to make up his mind or settle on where he wants to be traded to
+ all those rookies houston picked up have to show and prove
+ it makes other teams up their offers

The risk being:
- dwight lowers his worth this season thanks to his back surgery screwing with his game
- other teams don't bother with the trade due to better performance from their players
- other deals from other teams are made and leave orlando out of the running
- worse case senario is orlando walks away with nothing... but dwight goes to dallas or atlanta since none of his preferred destinations have cap space.

Bwahahahaha.

So, I have no idea why the Jazz signed ***** ****, not seeing any point for him on this roster.

KG hasn't really been declining at all recently.

I don't see a situation where the Heat don't completely roll through through the East for the next few years barring major injuries.

Can someone explain to me how Orlando sitting on Dwight until the deadline will get them a better deal? Wouldn't they be in must trade mode by then and would have to settle for whatever is offered? It's not like anyone BUT the Lakers, Nets and Houston want to trade for him and why would they even consider offering anything more than what's being offered now. Does Orl actually want Lopez's shit contract?

If Howard sits out due to "injury" until Feb, or plays carelessly, wouldn't that drop his value?

Because they are stupid and desperate, and are more worried about how they will look and what PR to run than actually moving on and rebuilding their team.

They think a team will be like the Knicks and offer up their whole starting lineup for a player that won't even play anywhere else.

It's easy to say no when the best offers are Brook Lopez or Anderson Varejao plus mid first rounders.

Take the best offer, it might not be great, but it's not going to be great, you waited too long to trade him. Salvage what you can instead of going into the season with a new GM and coach having to deal with a star player that your fans hate and will either boo relentlessly or simply not show up to watch. Yes, the story will be that you didn't get fair value for Dwight, but that's never going to happen.

It may be stupid, but I think every GM in the league is too prideful to settle. They all want to be the miracle man and pull that magical trade out of their ass that makes them look like the next coming of Jesus.

With Howard looking to sign with the Nets or a team that could win it all, no one with any valuable pieces can afford to gut their team just to acquire him. I think ORL has already received and turned down their best offer...
