2012 NBA Playoffs |OT2| OKC VS LA: Black on Black Crime

He's still an idiot. He's just playing well. I fully expect him to torch LA because they have no one in their regular rotation that can guard him. He's no MVP or anything... he just hasn't shot his team in the foot yet and he's played exceptionally well.

I fully expect Pop to awaken the dormant dumbass within though.

I wish LA had a competent coach. When Mike Brown was asked during the one of the Denver games "what do you think about Kobe logging so many minutes?", his response was "he is being paid to play."

UGGHH. You're getting paid to manage his minutes. Do your damn job.

Sorry. I just know he was handed 2 championships by stern, and I think he was over rated.

He played during the most corrupt time of the NBA.

And there was nothing corrupt about Bibby's face fouling Kobe's elbow.

cmon dude if you're going to play the corrupt league card, don't use it as if the Lakers of all teams are angels

Durant will never be up there because he can't dribble nor pass the ball. He's a great scorer off the pass and break, but his dribbling and passing ability is a huge weakness when talking about the pantheons of basketball. Westbrook and Harden make up for Durant's weaknesses.

Most of Durant's FGs are unassisted at this point in his career. His handles aren't that good, but they're good enough to make him one of the best iso guys in the league since he has elite shooting ability from everywhere and elite athleticism.

what more does kobe need to do? it seems like most people just will not accept anyone topping jordan like it would end the world or something if people start to believe.

Wait, what? What championships were handed to him? And most corrupt? Come on man. He played during such a greater era than the 2000s when Kobe won. I am a Lakers fan and huge Kobe fan but MJ's championships are much more impressive IMO than Kobe's.

Ill go into it sometime, it has to do with gambling debt, Stern, and MJ. Refs on the take etc............

If Kobe wins 7 championships no one will give him Jordan respect. He is just not universally loved like him.

man, MJ just had better skills outside of long rang shooting (and by that I mean 25 feet+).

MJ's fadeaway was more reliable because he was taller than Kobe. he could palm the ball which made it so hard to steal it from him. He was a better long 2 shooter off the dribble.

MJ also had to deal with hand-checking where Kobe did not for most of his career.

Yeah the eras were different, but you could still see MJs skillset and physical advantages made him a better player.

Its okay to not be better than Jordan.

I don't see why its so damned important... You don't see Spurs fans bitching about whether or not Duncan was better than Hakeem.

Oldest generation: Dirk, Kobe, Nash, Duncan, Pierce, Ray, Garnett, Kidd, Manu
Middle generation: Wade, Bron, Bosh, Dwight, CP3, Deron, Aldridge, Chandler, Parker, Pau, Melo, Brandon Roy :(
Young generation: Durant, Griffin, Rose, Love, G-Hill MVP, Bynum, Westbrook, Harden, Irving

2007: Oldest x2 + Middle (Manu, Duncan, Parker)
2008: Oldest x3 (Pierce, KG, Ray)
2009: Oldest + Middle (Kobe, Pau)
2010: Oldest + Middle (Kobe, Pau)
2011: Oldest x2 + Middle (Kidd, Dirk, Chandler)
2012: ???

It feels like the generational torch has yet to be passed, but OKC might be the first team to do it. Its crazy how long this old generation has held the throne (all the big names have a ring...except Nash), and with the way the Spurs are playing, they might just extend it one more year. Feels odd that the middle generation is largely skipped, especially since I fully expected Dwight to be the next guy in line after 2009.

We'll see.

Going back in time and not revealing himself to be an idiot.

Playing defense and having good shot selection as he got older.

Being a good bit better than he was since Jordan was much better in his prime than Kobe was...

Because Kobe has never been better than MJ.

Defense- MJ
Pure shooting- MJ (50% for a shooter for gods sake)
Rebounds- MJ
Taking a team on his shoulders-MJ
Fade away- MJ

I will give Kobe long range and last minute shots but MJ is better than Kobe in every other facet.

Seriously, as a Lakers fan it pains me when people try to argue Kobe being better than MJ.

As soon as Jordan wins one without prime Pippen..............
Also, two of Kobe's rings, the ones with Gasol, were on arguably the weakest Championship team of the past 20 years behind Wade and Shaq's Heat.

The most non-memorable Finals Game 7 performance of all time will be his as well.

This.

When the man formerly known as Ron Artest has to bail you out in the game to decide the title on your home floor, that ring gets tarnished. Just a little.

Entertaining the ladies - MJ

I will say Kobe got MJ on fashion. There you go Kobe fans.

The Kobe puppets were hilarious because it made fun of Lebron.

And because they were voiced by David Alan Grier and Kenan Thompson.

I love MVPuppers - but that shit has no longevity.

Jordan Brand commercials are f'n classic. And Like Mike? Its probably the only reason anyone even remembers Mia Hamm.
Why would you give him the edge in last minute heroics? Jordan often sealed games in the 3rd, but if he had as many opportunities as Kobe, he'd do even better.
I kinda agree with what Phil said before.

Kobe can hit some unbelievable shots that have no business going in. He does it way more often than he should too. More often than MJ...

That's because MJ didn't have to rely on those stupid ass shots that often.

lol. The 2009 team was weak? I'll take them over a lot of title teams, including '02 Lakers which was running on fumes and never should have won it all.

Winning with Bill Wennington was better than getting Shaq traded.

Didn't MJ once say that playing with Bill Wennington, Luc Longley and Bill Cartwright was equivalent to playing with '21 feet of shit.' the man was a born leader.
