I think that's what it really comes down to.

Yup. Growing up that's why I hated him. Passionately. Refused to accept how great he was. He ended Magic.
Truth be told, I was converted on his sick game. I changed everything I thought about him from that one game alone. I realized how foolish I had been (granted I understood basketball more by then than when I was 10).
This is why I can't hate any great players for their on court (non flopping these days) stuff. I realized it was better to appreciate how great these players are, even if they're rivals, than to just watch them thinking they are overrated and such (unless they truly are like Ellis).
Which is why despite hating Portland, I loved Roy. And why I still defend Cp3 and hope for Blake. And while I will clown on Lebron, it's mostly because he should be so much better than he is and I feel cheated.
