So I'm gonna make a deal with you guys

If the Heat get eliminated Best Gaf should pick which liquor I should chug again (no crazy moonshine 484837 proof though cuz I love my liver) and i will post it here and make it my avatar during the offseason

those two LA home games sure suck a lot harder when they are b2b.

Awww just had a look. Was thinking both the Clips/Lakers had back to back home games on Sat/Sun.

Then LA NBA GAF can all be sad together!

Damn you Stern!!

Edit: NVM, didn't realize Lakers were playing tonight and tomorrow. The circle can still be complete on Sunday! yay! :(

I'm a bit biased, since I've been a Pacers fan for life. But for those saying the Pacers play an ugly brand of basketball really underestimate a team without a superstar passing the ball around a lot to get the score. Sometimes it flounders badly, but I can't help but enjoy it. Superstar 1 on 1 gets old for me. For those criticizing the defense, well there's no pleasing someone like you. Their defense is, and has been, extremely good. It's not just Lebron and Wade sucking, it's also the defensive matchups the Pacers are putting on them. Paul George is destroying Wade out there and Granger is doing as good against Lebron as anyone can hope to. Hibbert, well wow. 19 pts, 18 boards and 5 blocks. Nothing else to say. The team wide domination on the boards is just sealing the deal.

20/23 at the line doesn't hurt. The Pacers are actually a really good free throw shooting team too. Can't blame them for being a little shaken in Miami.

Also, I really hate Pat Riley's face.

I nominate this: Corzo Silver Tequila. It's my liquor of choice.

Also us Pacers fans, who slogged through the Jim O'Brien/Mike Dunleavy/Troy Murphy era, anything would look better compared to that steaming pile of shit.

They finished 29th in assists this year.

Has it been mentioned as to why Wade looked like he was about to beat the dog shit out of Spoelstra?
I heard somewhere that Spoelstra was telling Wade he was playing too soft. Nobody has reported it so it must be false, though it's probably the only thing Wade would take exception to.

And yet they are a good ball sharing team. It's the way the offense is set up. The starting PG averages what, less than 3 assists a game? Yet that ball gets swung around very well. They don't have players who go 1 on 1. Barbosa is probably the best at driving to the hoop, and he's a bench player with limited minutes.

--Just goes to show what # you are in assists doesn't mean shit, really.

People rag on the Pacers style of basketball, but the shittiest basketball I've seen played during these playoffs from the remiaining teams is easily Miami. I admit it, I rarely watched them during the regular season, but during these playoffs it has been awful, just plain ugly. The way they run their offense is completely discombobulated. And Lebron... don't get me started, what an overrated POS. He is just a stat machine, what the hell does he do to make his teammates better? Because I see nothing. It's pretty much the same player from the 2007 Finals against the Spurs.

They really put on display all the crap I don't like about the NBA.

yea ok.

If you're gonna drink, at least drink something good.

Smooth enough to drink neat, I prefer it with some good ice though.

Their outside shooters have been horrendous. You wouldn't be calling LeBron a teammate who can't make his teammates better if they could hit a fucking open shot.

It's hilarious reading posts from the heatles in this thread hoping they can come back against the Pacers.

Although them going out in the second round would be a bit anti climatic. I'd love to see them get the finals and get punked by the Spurs. But if the Heat can't even score enough points to beat a bad offensive Pacers team then they don't deserve to go any further.

Please tell me, what exactly does he do to make them better? For a player that has the ball in his hands so much time I really don't see much. Plus his defense is average at best. I'm not hating, it's just the way I see it.

Good article, but this bothers me:

The Miami Heat, the New York Knicks and even these Los Angeles Clippers shredded their infrastructures and constructed themselves with starry, top-heavy rosters. This

Describing what the Knicks and Clips had for the past decade as 'an infrastructure' is really pushing the boundaries of credibility.

I find it hard to imagine the Heat losing to the Pacers, even down 2-1. I doubt Chalmers will have another big game though, it will be up to Wade, Lebron, and 3 point shooting like usual and i think both Wade and Lebron will regroup and in the next game drive to the rim and rely on free throws to seal the deal like usual.

Well first of all he's being forced to guard out of position a lot with Bosh out...until last night Granger was complete garbage. And that wasn't the doing of Shane Battier. And his defense is not average....I don't know what you're seeing

What does he do to make them better? Sometimes he takes terrible shots yes, but he creates wide open looks for his three point shooters in transition and off attention he gets and they brick them all, how can you blame him? And he puts our offensively inept bigs in position to score.....and they STILL missed it. I think you're only taking the bad things you saw

Last year he fucked it up...but so far this team's failures are not on him

Seriously I don't know how Espn can basically make up news and push that shit as fact.. They are talking about Pat Riley basically is trading dwayne wade after the series and bosh and they basically justify it by saying "Stephen A's sources". That is some horrible reporting.

Stephen A Smith seems to just make shit up and then gets mad at whoever when it turns out not to be true. But Riley trading Wade would make for a entertaining summer.

Bosh gets ignored by his own team for almost all of two years and now he's the centerpiece of the Heat.

fucking shameless

I have been trying not to post in this thread until the Pacers-Heat series ends (because I don't want to jinx it), but I can't resist.

Still, it's not over yet...not until Indiana is able to win that 3rd game and go up 3-1. This is a team with two of the top 5 players in the league on it still...I don't care how overmatched their big men and secondary/role players are against Indiana, I cannot accept the Heat being totally fucked when the series is only 2-1. They are just too good. Bosh being the key to the Heat dominance? No fucking way. Haven't they been without him before in the regular season, too?

If Miami is going to lose, it's not going to be because the series is over today.

...but if they do lose the series, it may be even more satisfying than watching them fail last season.

From losing in the finals in 6 to losing in the confrence semi finals in 5 or 6 after supposedly upgrading the supporting cast, finding a pg late in the draft and tweaking the offense to better suit Wade/James.

It's amazing, so amazing.

I don't know man. I just don't see the Heat losing. Game 4 will be different. They're not losing by 20 points again and Wade/LeBron will play better. Also, wasn't the rumor that Bosh would be back for game 4 or am I totally wrong?

Finally got caught up on First Take where they talk about "Should Lebron retaliate against the Pacers"

FOR WHAT. FOR WHAT. If anything the Pacers should throw an elbow at The King for his flops and the elbow he threw at Granger FOR PULLING ON HIS JERSEY. Oh no, Granger had the balls to PULL ON A GUYS JERSEY ON A FAST BREAK, the disrespect! The King's robes might have been damaged, Lebron better hit a guy with an elbow when the refs aren't looking!

This entire segment is absolutely ridiculous and i'm ashamed for having watched it.

Bosh most likely won't return at all.

Know what amazes me? This is DWades 9th year in the league. He's played seven less years than Kobe Bryant. DWade is breaking down in his 9th year in the league. He is being outplayed by a 16 year veteran (I'm referring to in general, not one series).

Bosh most likely won't return at all.

When the Heat do go on to face the Celtics/76ers, I don't doubt that Bosh will play. But with that type of injury I just don't see him being 100%, shoot he'd be lucky to be 60% with said injury. The Heat would've been much better off at DWade been injured.
