2012 NBA Playoffs |OT2| OKC VS LA: Black on Black Crime

Yes, the Heat eeked out a game in which Bosh didn't finish, in Miami. That was a strong effort by them, but can not be extrapolated to anything of significance. It's all guessing. The Pacers get on their home court and win by 20. Bosh or no Bosh it showed that the teams were much more even than everyone thought going in.

Not really.

Heat are extremely top heavy, losing one of those guys in the playoffs takes out a lot, especially their one skilled big and best mid range jumpshooter.

They were alright when wade or Bron went out cause the other can duplicate their game, no one on the heat comes close to what Bosh brings.

Even during the latest blow out The Pacers tried so hard to give the game away.

Barbosa can't function as a slasher because Vogel doesn't know how to use one properly. Hill and Collison slash from a different position 9 out of 10 times, so they KNOW as they've played that position most of their life (and on functioning teams). Barbosa doesn't recognize defenses - okay. But he doesn't recognize his own offense either. He's a poor man's Crawford playing in a wannabe Larry Brown's system. When he slashes he's going to ALWAYS do one of two things: 1) miss a wide open man 2) call for a screen when he shouldn't be calling for a screen. Unless he makes the difficultfornoreason shot, he's shooting that team in the foot.

You bring up some great points. I think he was a great steal for a second round draft pick to the Raptors. He can score, he didn't score last game, but I think he can get at least 7 PPG hell he should if Miller is guarding him.

I bet. It's surprising me how large some people think the margins between teams are.

The Pacers are talented enough to play with any team for 46 minutes. But they haven't proven they can win late, and that's what separates good teams from great ones. That's where my doubts lie and I'm probably not alone.

Sure. I've always believed that and have never said anything to the contrary.

Good to know. I really don't trust basketball stats.

I'm not a fan. George Hill is much better on both ends of the floor. Collison's shot is so flat it's disgusting.

George Hill is better, no doubt, and I was bitching for that switch to be made for weeks, but Collison's shot is money when he has space. He should never take a contested jumper but wide open I'll take him, West and Hill as the sure bets.

Retort: "The Pacers lead the league in Offensive Rating, you dumb whore."

How does the latter invalidate the former, again?

Yeah, that is pretty glaring. George Hill has been a bright spot in that area. And David West has shown to be too. In a small sample size (aka the playoffs), this doesn't have to be the detriment it could potentially be.

LOL. What does this say about the Heat?

Regular Season:
Heat: 46-20
Pacers: 42-24

Playoffs:
Heat: 5-3
Pacers: 6-2

You're salty that your precious Heat team is getting beat up by the oh so lowly and inferior (and terrible) Pacers. What you're experiencing is the butthurt feeling you have when your tears make it all the way down to your ass crack. Don't worry honey, it will all be over soon.

lmao

your Pacers lost to the Lakers in the finals with Shaq and Kobe. Snicker.

Kobe's magnificent overtime performance in Game 4 is one of his most overlooked achievement. If the Pacers would have won that game (with Shaq on the bench with 6 fouls), they might have won the series.

Oh, what could have been...

Yep. I don't think Basketball Reasons has gotten over that loss yet.

This is all fair. But now it seems that people are underestimating just how suffocating the Heat can be at the end of the game. If you're talking about the free throw shooting, I attribute that to the Pacers' inexperience, because they're a very good free throw shooting team. They have no problems at home, so they have to learn from what they've already been through if they want to win in Miami again.

Because it wasn't just ugly, it was also 'terrible'

If you're gonna try and take shots, pay attention.

Reggie will always get my respect. Unlike the other bandwagoners he didn't jump team to get a fake ring.

To sum up The Pacers; Even when they were up 18 in the 4th, the lead didn't feel comfortable. Not until 3 or 2 minutes left with Starters sitting for The Heat did I feel confident that they would win.

The word terrible is a word with multiple meanings, try grabbing a dictionary every once in a while. It does not literally mean bad.

Dy has repeatedly and numerously stated in the past why the Pacers offense is ugly and terrible in the sense that it works for the wrong reasons. Trying to extrapolate and assume some bullshit about the offense being bad is your own doing.

I know you just started posting in this thread, but you need to step back and reign in your shit talking before you get sniped.

To be fair, after that Grizz/Clips series, no lead feels safe anymore.

Lakers also just lost a game where they were up by 7 with less than 2 mins to go.

i feel you brah.
12 years of heartache and finally have a shot of beating the dreaded and very much hated heat team.
2012 is redemption year for not only pacers fans, but for underdogs and all fans in general.

Terrible means bad, basically. If we're arguing semantics it's worthless anyway. Basically like your posts have been.

But lol, go ahead and threaten me about being 'sniped'. What a joke.

I would finally make peace w/ Ben Wallace, whose sole purpose in life was to set off the nuclear device that blew apart our championship and left us with Fred Jones and Eddie Gill getting big minutes.

You're goddamn insufferable and you really have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

Pacers bandwagon fans, smh. You're making some of the Heat fans look smart in comparison.

Yo dude, I don't think a lot of people are disagreeing with you, but you're coming off with LBJ's douchebaginess written all over your face. Chill.

They were up 18, won by 19 and it never went to single digits during the 4th. The whole time it felt like they were moments from giving it away. I suppose thats just the feeling fuckball invokes.

That sounds so stupid, but thats just the feeling I get.

The Heat canceled today's practice and media availability.

Shit just got real.

Na. They're just going to work on their game. It's a good idea. Get the team to focus.

It was like watching the Lakers. An 18 point lead is the equivalent of an 8 point lead.

I've changed my mind. I am now a hardcore Heat fan for life (sorry Pacers). I want in on the 8 parades and party life.

Let's go Miami. It's all about South Beach up in here, up in here!

Best 2-guard in the league and elite player, Dwyane Wade is the best. I love Gabrielle's movies too.

LeBron, do your thing baby. Chosen 1, I am witness to your glory.

If it happens, whatever. Already went through the shit last year, sometimes things aren't meant to be

i get enough shit talk from people who don't know anything or watch basketball for one month of the year, saying stuff that has been recycled because they do not know how to think for themselves

It's to combat the insularity in this thread that has shut it down before. Douchebag is just an interpretation. How can one respond to being called an obnoxious bandwagoner? After they're followed their team through hell and back.

Certainly not something I want to portray with any sense of frequently, or wish to do at all.

I felt the same way, but entirely because I've seen the Heat go on 20-2 runs all the fucking time this year. One turnover and dunk is usually all they need to get that engine from 0 to 60. Nobody up vs the Heat in the 4th is safe.

People rag on the Pacers style of basketball, but the shittiest basketball I've seen played during these playoffs from the remiaining teams is easily Miami. I admit it, I rarely watched them during the regular season, but during these playoffs it has been awful, just plain ugly. The way they run their offense is completely discombobulated. And Lebron... don't get me started, what an overrated POS. He is just a stat machine, what the hell does he do to make his teammates better? Because I see nothing. It's pretty much the same player from the 2007 Finals against the Spurs.

They really put on display all the crap I don't like about the NBA.

<3

5th best record in league while in the East - when the East primarily plays itself in a lockout year is nothing to brag about.

My issue is with the actual product on the court. Fuckball.

What about routinely bringing Hibbet 18 feet out to set screens makes sense? Why does Vogel insist on making all of Collison and George's best qualities as players worthless in his system? Why don't they move Danny Granger off-ball as he's still a Carmelo-esque mismatch for most of the league? Why is Barbosa playing dumber now than he has in his entire career? Why do they have some of the shittiest spacing in the entire league even though they have a host of shooters? Why do they top the league in fouls committed and fouls received?

Offensive rating will never explain why this Indiana team has been together for years and the guards still don't know how what to do after a fastbreak layup opportunity suddenly isn't available. They can't do simple shit right. They actively limit their own scoring opportunities many times JUST to fuck up the game. Vogel will sit in a huddle and scream "championship passing!" then sit back and watch as his team can't exploit Roy Hibbet on Glen Davis.

While all of this is explicitly true, I'd like to point out one thing you are missing from the formula:

The G-HILL MVP effect. Since he was inserted into the starting lineup they are 13-4 including the playoffs. Thats amazing and not to be underestimated.

Also, tc farks is ruining my Pacers storyline pick and I'd appreciate it if he'd shut the fuck up as soon as possible. thx

it's too bad a dunk is not worth three points
