2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

Next-gen hexagons... (also, I get WAY more aliasing in VR than anywhere else in the game. 2160p + 4x TXAA and STILL I get bad aliasing. what the BALLS Crytek?)

Page 4? *gasp*

As much as I love the visuals in Crysis 3, these dark environments get old quick. I really wanted more areas like "Welcome to the Jungle." The global illumination is gorgeous there. Anyways... more dark screens :P

Despite the Always online crud, it's a pretty salvageable game. there's so much detail... you can even see when the Homeless guys find a sammich! But it's kind of jarring when that same guy goes to the three story condo.... So I just kill them.

It's a game that should be experienced if you're a graphics enthusiast :) It's just beautiful in motion... though I'm tired of these dark environments. Here is something a bit more happy.

Going above the cloud layer in War Thunder is incredible. The clouds are volumetric and light light through depending on their thickness. It's pretty crazy when it's raining and dark down below, but bright and peaceful up above.

Yup. I saw that. I also saw their Twitter post which linked directly to an album of mine which they new specifically used SweetFX.

I've read that thread you posted, but I've never actually heard of anyone being banned for it. I've been using SweetFX in Planetside 2 for ages... and I still do. If they ban me, they ban me. But honestly, I'm not worried. I've been spending a lot more time in War Thunder anyways :)

Its entirely possible that they've changed their position on it. Early on when PS2 released there were quite a few complaints that people were getting banned for it.

I don't know if there's a War Thunder thread but has there been any talk of making a War Thunder SP game? I was under the impression Gaijin was going to port Birds of Steel to PC but I guess that never happened. I just really don't like the WoT style of War Thunder.

You can actually buy the SP campaigns, looks like they might be from Birds of Steel though, not sure.

Wow, nice shots!! Which mods did you use?

I am using sikkmod 1.2 , Wulfen texture pack 2.0 with the update , monoxead textures , various monster and weapons textures , pom

I am afraid that if i start C3 i will take shots every 2 minutes , but i plan to when i upgrade some time in the next 4 months so i can play it in it's full glory :)

I'm not sure if the 'fog' is meant to be there or if its because i didn't force a negative LOD in Inspector. If it is a flaw, i kinda like it.

What's going on in the first shot? Is it the Superhero DLC? I remembered it taking place at night.

I'm using the Sandbox+ for SRTT mod and also the Gentlemen of Steelport mod.

These allow you access to some crazy features as well as locations and abilities normally reserved for missions and cutscenes. These guys have mad respect for the SR devs.

I love the community behind Saints Row, because they manage to work so well together, and all compile generrally liked mods into big packs that represent the mod scene itself.

When you mod this game it leads to the most perfect game becoming even better. Fun was had.

Oh cool. I totally made one of the first mods for SRtT, I'm not sure why I didn't even think of modding.

If you search "Saints Row the Third mods" on Youtube my video is still the second to come up <:

Thanks for the link, I just recently started playing again and those mods will definitely add to the life span.

Also, 2160p + 8xMSAA seems to look even WORSE. Not a big deal since it's isolated to the VR level but... blah.

Check first level, it has ton of shader aliasing. MSAA doesnt handle shader aliasing at all, thats why it looks worse than TXAA. And use SMAA 4x, its best performance and IQ setting in C3.

What kind of a system can run Crysis 3 like THAT with a good frame rate?

I'm about to build a new PC but I could maybe hold off until prices drop enough for me to get a roughly equal.

I thought everyone has said that game can't even be maxed on current hardware, yet you do that + overkill res/ms/AA?

Or are those not maxed settings?

those are unplayable settings, mostly for taking nice screenshots

crysis 3 is well optimized, here are some benchmarks to help you decide. 1080p maximum settings at 60fps is very achievable

Meh, I thought we got that PC bullshots thread for that stuff... Oh well...

Based on the benchmarks I'll go with what I was planning (3770k, 7970), if I don't wait for next mid/high series that max it...

Agreed.

Would it be out of the question to create yet another thread for screenshots, but just general screenshots no matter the quality? This thread seems to be pretty picky about content, visual clarity, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but a lot of times I take screens of things I find funny, I've got the HUD on, there's aliasing, what have you and it doesn't feel like this is the place to post that stuff.

I'm still a young one on GAF and a thread like this would bring the game "screens" thread count up to 4, I believe (this one, bullshots, .gifs, and my proposed idea).
