those 4-5 guys in the paint happens when somebody iso's on the perimeter or a foot or two in. If they just swung the ball around the paint would get open or if melo and Jr began to iso in the paint (and draw out hibbert for the double) and passed to either the cutter or the open man shooter things would be easier.
its what they did during the runs they made (besides TO transition points) the problem was Melo and JR began to feel themselves and wanted to score without doing any work.

Carmelo Anthony should be used as a decoy to break the box in their defense; the defender assigned to him will have to stay home on him as long as he's "open". The point guards should penetrate to collapse the box and allow the other wing players that aren't Anthony (like Shumpert or Smith) to cut and either shoot a short open shot, or dump it off to the bigs (Martin or Chandler) to score inside or draw a foul on the converging defenders. Knicks should use the high pick and roll to do this until they do something else.
