^^^ Also this.

Great win and great series by the spurs, this montage is great. What a solid team of great guys, good on them.

Wait!

Leonard is 22!?

Things are a LOT more interesting now

Pretty surprised to see how few people knew this in the thread.

I think so for sure. Greg had great players don't get me wrong, but he's struck gold over and over again with Manu, with TP, with Patty Mills this year, Danny Green, reigniting Boris, and it goes on. Phil had the Best player of all time for 6 of his rings, and Kobe/shaq for the next run.

Yep. You don't think Lebron, despite solid stats, could've done more to help his team win? Then OK. I just saw a guy get an easy 31 but not really elevate his teammates play at all. Didn't see leadership either, which is also hard to reflect in a box score.

I definitely think he could've done more, it just always seems like he could really be in so much control, but it's probably unfair to assume that, he just makes it look so easy.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
This is such a strange statement. I agree that Barry is the best, but that's not the unanimous name you hear, and Sandy Koufax doesn't even come up often as the GOAT. MJ and Gretzky are really the only 2 who stand as alone as they do as GOATs. Lebron still has a chance to challenge it.

The point is.. you don't hear it in football or baseball. The constant comparisons to the best, and how they suck if they aren't the best. It's so stupid, it's like so many people can't appreciate so many star players because they aren't MJ.

Also, who gives a fuck if LeBron isn't MJ... no body will ever by MJ.

Jordan was a fucking asshole douchebag of a teammate who had to be miserable to be around.

He's the GOAT, and probably always will be.

People act like it's some kind of horrible thing to be in the discussion for the 2nd best player.

You never hear this shit in Baseball or Football... nobody constantly shits on a RB because they aren't Barry Sanders or a pitcher because they aren't Sandy Koufax.

I agree with what you are saying, but football and basketball are bad comparisons, there isn't unquestioned #1 best players in that sport. A better comparison is hockey, where the young uninformed claim that Crosby is at or above Gretzky. No need for that crap, there is nothing wrong with being an all time generational great. People just get tired of the current gen player being shoved down everyone's throat as the greatest ever with nothing to base it on

Also, I think Jordan being an asshole helped him be as great as he was

If asshole douchebag = make you a better play and get you rings, then yeah. I've heard plenty of interviews with Kukoc, Kerr, and Grant, guys who suffered harsh MJ punishment, and they said they all came out better for it. You don't listen to that bullshit the "big men" like Cartwright and Parish say do you? lol. Big guys always talk big "i'm gonna break your legs." MJ laughed it off, he got what he wanted from them (hint: to make them angry so they can catch a fucking pass).

I disagree you do hear it in football with QBs, take a look at anything Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, after each of the last few superbowls for these 2 Joe Montanas name is constantly brought up.

I think it's statistically impossible to beat some of Gretzky's records. Some of his records are untouchable IIRC.

Before the inevitable bashing begins, the blame for this NBA Finals loss should be placed on *anyone but* LeBron James. The rest of the Heat simply didn't show up, while the Spurs sure as hell did.

People are just trying to fit their own narratives now. WTF was LeBron supposed to do? When have you ever seen a player take teammates who are playing like garbage and turn them around? LeBron played his ass off this series but he's LeBron so people will find reasons to make it not good enough. It's honestly getting pathetic already. He's still far and away the best player on the planet and guess what? Being the best player on the planet isn't always enough.

You wrote a whole paragraph to say that you're gonna believe what you perceive athletes to be despite statistical measurements that indicate the exact opposite?

yeah, what a dumb post. The Heat came out amazing in the first quarter, but their best wasnt good enough. They lost to a better team. A team with more depth. It wasnt about them "not trying hard enough", though if Im a Bosh guy, Im pissed at that dude not exploiting mismatches all through the series

Basketball is a game where one player can totally transform a team. Baseball and football not so much, except maybe qb but not really then.

Wade just needs to evolve his game. He has reached the point like Kobe where most drives end in a series of pump fakes followed by a kick out. If he can work on his 3pt stroke he can continue being productive with less strain on his knees. PEACE.

Sorry not giving that comparison at that age with Kobe. Wade's game is not predicated on jump shots like Kobe Bryant, it's for penetrating, splitting and finishing. Wade's game ages faster than other players. I heard Wade was working with a shooting coach, but developing a different style of game late is very difficult to do as a shooting guard. Wade already has a post game, Kobe later incorporated that. Wade is going to continue to decline. Save your money Miami. That is the priority this off-season! TRICK WADE TO OPT OUT!

Unfortunately as a superstar it's give and take. If you wanna give him credit for last year then he's gotta take some heat this year.

Lebron couldn't have done any more to win a title. As much as people seemingly want to refuse to admit it, basketball is a team game.

LBJ gets all the credit for wins, but not the credit for losses?

He gets to be praised for generational, GOAT challenging talent, but not the failures?

Even if we say "it's not his fault", does he get off the hook for being out of this elimination game with 6 minutes left?

And to think, we traded this guy for George Hill....I know I know, maybe the Spurs play such great team ball that individual performances kinda dont matter, but still....We traded him for George Hill, ugh...

neither is irrational dickriding
Which I'm not doing. I have given credit where it is due. You must have a general misconception of what Heat fans are like, and will just rail against that shadow monster. It's possible to admit defeat and still have confidence in your team. The two aren't exclusive. PEACE.
