You guys just need to see it in live screen. I have played Ryse fully maxed but The Order is on a whole another level. A game which truly reaches CGI level of graphical quality on a console.

Someone told me the opposite. "Ryse looks better still."

I laughed.

I was going to to post some panoramas, but now that people are complaining about them, I thought I'd rather post screens... A part of me kind of agrees that if you can take it while playing (even photomode) it belongs here, as its a more accurate representation of what you can see ingame (even through photomode).

As for compression... well, hard fact is I dont have a capture card, so there's not much I can do about that. I do upload as uncompressed as possible though.

I do love panoramas tho, so I'll editing them (cos they don't perfectly align) and then I'll be posting them here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=747079&page=8

The funny thing about Panoramas, at least 3D ones, is that they are a much closer representation of the actual game as it gives the viewer camera control. I'm on team panorama as long as they are labeled as such.

I too love me some panoramas, especially on this thread. I just don't want to upset anyone...

Driveclub is really weird. sometimes i think it looks FUCKING AMAZING but then other times im like... eh.

I actually have a set of screens that demonstrates that completely... I find its a little inconsistent with its quality. Then again, there's only so much work you can do before running out of time and budget on a game.

how do i get the best image quality for PS4 games? i heard about the phone trick before in the last thread, can someone explain.

I don't know if this is the BEST way, but this is how I know a lot of people do it.

1. Copy the pictures from your PS4 to a USB

2. Upload those photos to a file sharing site ( I use Minus but i'm sure everyone uses something different)

3. Paste the url link in the picture icon

1. Take a screenshot and send it someone on your PSN contact list.

2. Download the PlayStation app from Google Play Store. Sign in to your PSN within the app once you have.

3. Go to 'Mesaages' on the app and find the message thread containing the sent image. Tap it and click 'Save' in the top-right corner.

4. Upload to either Flickr or Abload.de, and then post here.

Simple!

Is this better quality than the USB transfer method?

No, it's the same since it's basically the same copy but allows you to transfer to a site that won't compress it but it already goes through compression due to the PS4 not even allowing the best quality for screenshot. So compressed shots won't get further compression by those sites thankfully, though avoid imgur as well.

Anyone finding their "The Order 1888" screenshots turn out darker than they already are?

Soon as I import through USB to my computer they look way darker for some reason compared to what I've taken on my tv.

somewhat off topic, but a while back you asked which recent games i thought had higher res reflections than BF hardline. driveclubs are much higher, and evolves are a good deal higher as well.

Drive clubs definitely appear higher res, but you mentioned KZSF and I:SS, games which have relatively low res SSR. :P

Second Son's photo mode is kind of an anomaly because it doesn't enhance the IQ at all, unlike DriveClub which MASSIVELY overhauls it (there's even a progress bar). The best part is, it doesn't need to. Outside of the few that use MSAA, Second Son easily has the best IQ of any console game. Hard to believe that Dying Light uses the same solution (SMAA T2X) because the temporal ghosting is really bad.

I was able to compliment one of the Sucker Punch developers while he was streaming Second Son on Twitch. He said he remembers coming in to work one day and being shocked at the new anti-aliasing running in the game for the first time. It was cool being able to tell them directly how much we appreciate their hard work to deliver clean image quality.

That is a MASSIVE exaggeration. Seriously.

Photo-mode gives a slightly better IQ and softer shadows.

More action shots Dead or Alive 5: Last Round (PS4)

Nice shots, but would it not be better to use the PS4 capture when you freeze frame fights in the fight viewer, rather than use the in game snapshot feature to do it? I use the former method, and it leaves out the copyrighting text on the images. Just in case you didn't know.

I think Infamous: SS has the best form of cheap AA on console right now. I know its not the best AA, but its so much better than other console AA solutions like FXAA. That being said, the only times I've seen it look incredible before in Infamous and Ryse. Probably because Crytech created the techneque and Infamous apparently uses a modified form of it: "The presentation is meticulously clean, almost pristine - operating with a full 1920x1080 framebuffer alongside a modified form of SMAA T2x that stands apart as the most impressive utilisation of post-process anti-aliasing we've seen on any platform." - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-vs-infamous-second-son , but it wouldnt be the first time DF has been wrong...

The one in Ryse is slightly different due to how it accumulates and blends. Hence why the SMAA T2x in Crysis 3 or Infamous SS has ghosting on particles and extremely bright surfaces, but Ryse does not. At the same time, the one in Ryse has a side effect of blurring the image a bit, like in UE4. this can be counteracted with post sharpening though.

they arent as high as evolve or driveclub, but they are still ahead of hardline. hardline is so bad even the cube maps are insanely low res.

ryse and the ps4 version of far cry 4 are both a good deal better than infamous. the filmic smaa t2x option in the pc version of advanced warfare is also pretty good, but i dont think the console versions use it.

the smaa options in crysis 3 are borderline useless. theres almost zero reduction in temporal aliasing compared to no aa. the only value of it is in screenshots.

It isn't exactly out of the ordinary to see 256X256 cubemaps in most titles. In fact, I would not doubt to see that in tons of titles. Especially if they have larger levels that arent just single small rooms leading into closed off corridors.
