Arkham Origins/Mastereffect

Verrrrry nice. Do you mind if I ask for your preset? I was playing Origin just the other day (while waiting for Arkham Knight to leave early access) and I still think that's a good looking game with all the bells and whistles enabled. Don't know why this game gets so much hate. I enjoyed it.

That looks so good. Too bad the game has it's issues with LOD/bugs and insane amount of draw calls under DX11 holding it back. The benefit of moving from DX11 to DX12 would be huge for the engine. Syndicate HAS to be DX12 (wouldn't be too surprised if it wasn't though).

Yeah I'm amazed at that shot. Loving my first PC.

Thx, Sure, I'll message you the settings. I agree, it's not a bad game at all. I mean it's no Arkham City but for a filler it's pretty good.

That shot is a cut scene. Of course it looks good. It's whenever you see objects further than 20 meters that things start to fall apart. And I don't recall being quite as impressed by the character models and hair outside of cut scenes, but it's hard to get decent shots of them in order to compare.

I should play that game again. I never really gave it a shot.

Yeah a cutscene, I know... The character models aren't anything special while actually playing since the game is using a lot higher poly models in the cutscenes.

EDIT:

About that Arkham Origins ↓ I see it too, was wondering if my monitor was screwed but apparently not :P

Something looks fucky with the lighting\shadows in those. I'd guess I'd have to see it without ReShade to be sure.

Also, didn't mean to double post =(

I noticed that too. I wonder if it's because I've cropped in so close. The original pic was 3440x1440 pixels.

edit: Lighting looks weird in this un-cropped shot too - on his cape, so I don't know what's going on and it only appears in some shots depending on where the light source is coming from. Going to see if increasing the black in the levels shader fixes it.
I've played it without reshade and the lighting on batman himself looks weird at times to be honest..

What's the best filehost for big images with no compression?

The closest I've came is Cubeupload which doesn't compress images, but it doesn't support anything over 5MB. I have to either upload to a lossy host or turn my pictures into JPGs if I want to keep them 4k.

Flickr.

you've got a TB, make it last.

Flickr doesn't compress and has no file limit. I've posted a few 4K from Flickr:

These.....

... freakin wow. Some heavy post processing.... but wow. I love the portraits and the shaft shot too but I'm not quoting everything :P

mmhmm yeah. I'm gonna do some vanilla v's reshade shots and see if it's the engine or my preset.

edit: bunch of vanilla shots here. Looks about the same to me.

That is pretty weird then, the game does not normally look like that.

Is this just showing up in screenshots or does it look like that on screen? Have you changed anything with shadows in the ini file? I turned mine into a complete mess trying to tweak those settings.

Edit: Might be AA related.

It looks like that on screen. I noticed it as soon as I booted the game up the first time that something was off in the lighting but only on Batman. The environment looks fine. I haven't touched anything in the .ini file and my monitor calibration hasn't changed. I dunno man..

I got your message on flickr. I tried the DOF again and this time I was able to check the boxes so maybe I was doing something wrong before, although I kept pressing p first. I'll try again. Thx.

edit..oh thanks for the link. Good to know it's not just me. I'll try turning off AA in game and SMAA in reshade. It can't be my drivers because I have the latest Catalyst ones for Arkham Knight..well if that fails I'll try going down to DX9. Maybe having DX11 enabled in game has something to do with it.

edit2: IT WORKED! AA was the culprit. Thanks mate.

Got some clean captures of what I think are the best menu screens of all the Batman games.

There still seems to be something going on with the blacks though. Are you sure the "menu filter" value didn't get bumped while disabling the HUD? Press Shift + 9 and maybe have a look at the value in the CE table for Filter Power. This should be 0.

Was stress testing a GPU in Witcher 3. Loaded up a random save and this is where I landed. Decided to do a quick pano while I was there because why not.

It could be. I was messing about with the filter and couldn't figure out how to get it back to default. It's a 0 now. I've taken a few more shots and the blacks looks much better. I still couldn't get the DOF to work though :-s. Checked all the boxes but it doesn't respond to any of the DOF keys you've assigned.

That looks amazing btw. Is that with reshade?

Tiledshot has never worked in Arkham Games... but given how that game uses a shit ton of post processing, tiledshot would give pretty terrible results anyways.

Thanks, jim. I thought the "tiledshot X 1024" command in tiledshot would include postprocessing? That's what I remember in the Mass Effect games anyway.

Is there any other options than simply doing running the game in 4K in order to produce high-resolution images in a DX11 game?

For The Witcher 3, I'd just pop into the settings menu to increase my resolution for a screenshot. I have custom resolutions up to 7680x4320. That's

For GTA5 (and other games that let you "hotsample") I used SRWE to change the window size for a screenshot. Much quicker and you can easily resize the window back down. Faster than changing the resolution in the settings window.

Can't do that with Batman games though. They don't let the window stretch beyond your desktop size.

Been saving screens and finally joined NeoGAF to post, have not gotten to play much lately though.

Maybe one day I will get into using a mod to make it look better.

No injected graphics mods, just VisualV.

Hey bud, two screenshots per post, and don't quote screenshots.

Also, ideally you would make the files high quality JPEGs rather than 4K PNG's. The filesize on a huge PNG is unneccessarily large. There's a tutorial on converting to high quality JPEGs in the OP.

I thought quoting was the same as using thumbnails? Every page takes forever to load anyway so I thought it was more an issue of screen size than bandwidth.

I've edited two out anyway for now.

Batman Arkham Origins Reshade+Framework.

A big thanks to One3rd for helping me get everything in his CE working.

I had to disable AA to get rid of the weird ghosting before and now the cape's transparent :-s. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that with the light going through it but I like the effect for this particular shot.
