2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

Nice shots. I recently started playing this and already have 80 hours logged. It's become one of my favorite games of all time.

ReShade also adds a lot for improving image quality. I found the Ambient Light shader in GemFX made the biggest difference in overall visual quality. Absolutely stunning.

Thanks, I was just getting back into myself. Yup the Ambient Light Shader does make a difference in some games. I agree, without a doubt one of the best games I've ever played and I'm only a fraction of the way through.

Dead Space 3

Hey guys, no screenshots to share, but I was hoping the tech savvy folks in thread could answer a question for me since we don't really have an active general PC performance thread on GAF.

Currently, I have anisotropic filtering set to 16x globally in the Nvidia Control Panel/Inspector since a lot of games still don't always have that option in-game. However, if a game does have it, i just set it to 16x in-game as well because I figure why not, Nvidia control panel AF will probably override it anyways. Is there any harm in doing that? It's never caused any problems for me before, but I wouldn't want to unknowingly be incurring any hits to performance or visual quality.

No harm.

If you have the AF set to an override level in the driver then whatever settings may be requested by an app they will be completely ignored by the driver. So no harm but also no point in setting anything AF in an app in this case. I usually set the app to trilinear explicitly if allowed and force AF 16x in the driver profile for that app -- this is the best filtering combination possible currently. Many apps actually go back to bilinear when enabling AF from within them. If you see a "texture filtering" setting which goes from "bilinear" to "trilinear" to "AF" it's almost always better to set it to "trilinear" and force AF 16x in the driver.

Well... It's not screenshot, but kind of... Soul of Morrowind - #2 Azura's Coast Region | 1080p

Second part of atmospheric footages from the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Azura's Coast Region. Please, watch in 720p or 1080p quality.
There is absolutely no colour grading or other additional effects in post-production. It's clear showcase how beautiful modded Morrowind can be. Mods are individually picked by me, also shaders are tweaked for my needs.

I don't know, where is better thread for this here=(

Second one looks great.
A little tip, turn off motion blur and HUD in the menu for taking screenshots. Well personal preference anyways.

Yeah, I would but I wasn't planning on screenshotting, I just grabbed a few things that looked interesting while playing. The HUD and blur can ruin screengrabs easily.

The anti-aliasing is the only real let down in the image for me. Everything looks so realistic and flashy but the jagged, ugly lines are out of step with how cutting edge everything else is. Why do modern games offer such poor AA choices? FXAA is about all you can get in most releases.

Anyone know of any way to improve the shadow resolution/draw distance? Also,I wasn't able to get GeDoSaTo work with it, has anyone else had any luck with this?

Man you'd think they'd at least shave that shit sticking out of Snake's head down. I mean all it takes is one good fall on his head to pretty much kill him or leave him a vegetable.

Anyone have a way to change the FOV of Deus Ex Human Revolution DC? A cheat engine table or something? The NoClip mod for DC doesn't let me adjust FOV unfortunately.

edit: nevermind the info below..wrong game...I was thinking of RAGE. I think it's just the in-game settings in Deus Ex HR that allow you to change it.

Not sure if it still works but you should be able to do it via the console command. Once you've enabled it through steam (+set com_allowconsole 1) to your launch options, I think it's the g_fov variable you want to change using the command "cvaradd".

In the game console enter the 'cvaradd' command to modify it. The default fov is 80 I believe.

Therefore cvaradd g_fov 10 would equal an fov of 90. And then just put a minus sign in front of the value if you want to subtract it i.e cvaradd g_fov -10.

Try it out and see if works. I played it ages ago so I can't remember exactly.
