the team hasn't looked weak though

The defense is pretty damn good and the offense has been too

No Br*dy for a full month, no Gronk for half a month, 3rd string QB starting and a receiver being the backup QB for at least a week

There is no reason shit should have been this hard to capitalize on. None.

Amazing it's "lol Texans" but no one is saying "Damn the Patriots are pretty good."

Something I've been saying all week

The Texans might be better than everyone in the NFC save Carolina. And they're still 4th or 5th best in the AFC. One game doesn't change that.

Do the Texans play the Steelers? Cuz that will also be a true test. Steelers are stacked on Offense. Then again the Texans beat the chefs and the Bears to go 2-0 this year. So I don't think there was any reason to be hyped about this game.

Random notes:

The Ravens first three weeks have been against the Bills, Browns and Jaguars. Literally the favorites to be picks 1-3 in next year's draft.

Anyone realize how bad the 2013 draft was? If 25 teams literally did not draft anyone they would be the same if not better off now.

Did anyone really expect the Jaguars to do anything other than shit this year? I could not laugh harder at the projecting of them being a force in their division this year

Never said the Texans were good. Stated all week I thought they would lose but you have to give credit to the Patriots.

Something most here won't do because "ch33ters!!"

Jags is top 10, Bears, Browns, and Bills are fighting for 1, 2, 3..

lol first letter is all B..

I expected them to be better than the Browns

One positive I will say about the 2016 Browns: if they don't go 0-16 this year, they're never going 0-16

True, I liked the moves they Jags have made, I consider them the Raiders from a few years back building a competent team. The Raiders have disappointed me, I thought they have a real solid team now and it is just not clicking fully, but when it does they will be hard to stop

People here always downplay the Pats their performances.

"Wow the Niners made the NFC Championship game like 3 or 4 times in a row under Harbro, he's the best coach in the league"

Meanwhile the Pats are still streaking with 5 straight appearances or some shit, but that's only due to the AFC being shit and has nothing to do with the Pats.

The AFC has been a joke for the past 15 years. The pats get free passes to a first round bye because the afce has been especially awful. Much different than the nfc, which has been stacked with good teams

Thanks for proving my point.

If you truly believe the Pats are gifted +- 12 wins every year, then why even play the regular season? Just advance them to the play-offs and save me the trouble of staying up late most weeks.

Yeah, you're right. Dante Culpepper going 41-49 with that same deep threat proves that Tom Brady is not a great QB.
His point was Moss elevated Brady's status- it did everywhere except in Oakland where he didn't give a fuck. Ok, Matt Cassel went 11-5, was top 10 in points and top 5 in yards as the QB with him for that same Patriot offense.

Pats are lucky, and Tom is just a system QB.

Such lazy talking points.

You guys know who is truly a system QB?

Aaron Rodgers.

Basically, Green Bay is quarterbacking for dummies. They've had a great quarterback for what, almost 25 straight years now? Favre -> Rodgers seamless transition, what are the chances? Then don't forget what happened when Matt Flynn stepped in for Rodgers: 480 yards and 6 TD's, an all time great performance. He looked so great that the Seahawks gave him a huge contract, but then got cut because he was outplayed by a random rookie nobody cared about. Rodgers has been getting bailed out for years because of Jordy Nelson, but now that he's washed up too, Rodgers only completes short passes. In fact his yards per attempt are among the worst in the league.

Rodgers is lucky that the Green Bay organization has such a stable coaching staff. The continuity of the system does him a lot of favors, really. You could sub in division rivals Cutler or Stafford and GB would still be a force.

Just extremely well coached, buddy.

What would Tony Romo be in Belichick's system? I'm actually genuinely curious and pondered it for years under the mediocrity of Garrett. Him and Brady are the best two minute QBs in the league, I think Tony would be a sure fire Hall of Fame QB with him.

We are currently working on Jacody and Jimmy their shrines.

I wonder if we can put "the system" in the HOF.

Tom Brady is amazing "system" or not, that 2014 playoff game against the Ravens was masterful, by both him of Bill. Never understood the knock on Tom for being paired with the one of the greatest game planners of all time.

Carolina's better
Arizona's better
Minnesota...could be better
Seattle...might be come Week 10 when they get off their asses

The Texans got SHUT OUT by a Third String, Rookie QB on National TV.

If Cutler was a Packer, the Packers wouldn't make the playoffs every year or every other year because Cutler would fumble or throw a pick that would cost them too many games and instead of going 10-6 or 11-5, you end up 8-8 or 9-7.

Source: Life long Bears fan who has had the pleasure of watching Cutler single handedly lose us games.

Honestly? These last 3 games make me wonder if Belichik didn't really work all that hard with Brady at QB. He's done an absolutely masterful job of coaching this season. They've controlled all 3 games they've played this year for the most part. I don't think anyone thought that'd happen.

When the Pats win next week they will be 15-5 without their franchise system qb across 2 seasons with 3 different qb's. One of whom is a 3rd string qb.

Going to sleep but fuck you Tom Brady.

Still the dumbest argument in the history of sports. Gee, a QB gets to play for a top three team in the NFL and goes 11-5, after the team had just won every single regular season game before that. That's 5 more losses if I can still count and they didn't make the playoffs. Say that the Pats were mediocre the year before and went 10-6, it would look a whole lot different.

Same argument when Jordan first retired. "Well Pippen is so good they win without him!" Yeah, that team only won three championships in a row and didn't lose any other players (and they added Kukoc). How did that team do the year after, when they were a year older and lost a couple of more guys? Pippen was demanding a trade and the Bulls were at .500 when Jordan returned. A year later they won 72 games.

Some god-awful QB thirsty team will send a player and a bunch of draft picks to NE for Jimmy G. Jimmy will join that franchise with awful coaching and retarded management, and will get sacked about 300 times in his first season. Just like Cassell. Granted Garoppolo looks much better, but he was pretty much shut down by the Cards in the second half and was throwing to wide open receivers vs. the Dolphins. So who knows what he has when his team isn't 10 times better than the opponent.

Also nice luck by the Pats with the schedule for the first 4 games. Mostly home games against average teams.

Landry Jones beat the Cards last year, too. Feels like Steelers are another team who are able to buckle some wins w/ out their starter in there. Helps when each team has had very good defenses for over the past decade.

Tom negates the system qb mantra when he finally got a deep threat and clowned the entire league and made people cry. Can't be a system qb by running the best offense in the history of the NFL in my opinion.

Lol.

Manning did this twice on two different teams, with completely different coaches and a gimped arm.

Not even Tabrising you here. To even have those numbers was crazy, shame Seattle crushed them that year and exposed his arm.

Osweiler's delivery is just so slow and elongated, I've never been a fan. He will throw the ball down field much more than past Texans QB's but he's prone to interceptions

As much as I hate to say it, Belichick is the best NFL coach of all time

Don't talk about Jordan, you'll only trigger him.

Raiders friend <3

"Brady's a system QB! Just drop anyone in and run the same plays."

Yet last night's offense morphed into college ball. LOL! I love me some fresh hater tears in the morning. Yum yum yum yum yum :P

Just playing :)

I actually don't understand the system QB criticism tbh. Pats' offense adjusts to the skillset and ability of their team, as well as the ability and weakness of their upcoming opponent... Which every team in competitive sports does or should be trying to do.

When Pats had the downfield speed and hands of Randy, they went long.

But seems haters don't want to hear that. Are microchips still in the footballs, or was that just preseason? Because I wouldn't put it past Belichick hacking that technology to cause those fumbles and guide them into Patriot hands.

#chipgate?

It's just that Belichik has shown that he can win games without Tom Brady and the opposite hasn't/won't happen.

BB doesn't need Brady, but we don't know if the opposite is true. Never will.

BB definitely helps TB excel.

But isn't that true of most QB greats? The coach and/or talented teammates help that QB excel?

Are people arguing TB suddenly becomes a scrub if placed on a shitty team? Or with a crappy coach?

Peyton had an insane offense with the Colts and an insane D with the Broncos (who are still balling after losing Peyton and Brock) when his arm was all gimpy. Does Broncos' continued success without him tarnish Peyton? I wouldn't think so.

What happens if you put him or Brady on the Jags? Meh, I don't know. Seems like a silly argument to me.

Manning won his first SB because the team's Defense got hot.

lol @ the haters...when Brady is at his best and dominating they say Bill Belichick is overrated and has done nothing without goat Brady...when Brady is out and the Pats have success they say BB is the best and Brady is just a system qb.

Just accept that they are both arguably the best qb and coach of all time and move on.

Bill is trash, it's all about McDaniels.

You got to face a 3rd string quarterback on a short week and you lost 27-0. You made the Dolphins look impressive.

lol Texans.
