Those are interesting. You got some solid triangles going on there and I think the framing is great. Good stuff man.
Thanks! The bottom one is a tad unbalanced at the right, sadly the camera in that area was constrained so I couldn't turn it properly to the right angle :/

This one too. The horse itself has many down to the monster's head on it's side against the inverted triangle created in the background. I think if the horse was centered a bit more and we could see a tad more of it's back, it would have looked better.. jmho. Best ask the experts ;-)
great info, didn't think of that, will use that next time!

Blood, blood everywhere!

If nobody does a shoddy free camera before Monday, I'll probably do one. Just coordinates and FOV probably. Hopefully those can be tweaked while frozen.

The game doesn't really blow me away visually so I most likely won't want to do anymore than that.

In game settings actually have FoV, so finding a way to modify that with Cheat engine should be super easy.

These don't really work well, what with the limited photocam. I also deplore the fact that you can't get this to run in any aspect ratio other than 16:9 without it breaking the rendering. I was kind of hoping Durante would be inclined to fix this. Any luck there?

I'd look more towards WSGF than Durante, as the modders there typically do great work with stuff like this.

Yeah, I thought of them as well. I just expected Durante to like Dragon's Dogma and maybe be on it quicker. I wouldn't have been surprised if there'd been a DDfix on release, or some plugin functionality for GeDoSaTo.

I basically never do non-16:9, because I only use 16:9 displays.

There's nothing to fix in the game really. The only thing It would need a specific plugin for is AO without the drawbacks of all the other methods (including GeDoSaTo with the generic plugin) currently available, and that's not trivial.

I've read somewhere that you play on a projector often. And you're right, it's a pretty decent port. If you do run the game in anything other than 16:9 (and I bet a lot of people are trying to do just that), things do break catastrophically. Here's hoping the WSGF people will manage to fix that.

That their screenspace can't deal with other aspect ratios than 16:9 suggests it's not a decent port at all, but actually a direct port without a lot of extra work done for PC (the used textures suggest that too, things look pretty much like they've simply used the PS3 textures). I mean, really, a FOV calculation based on aspect ratio is all there's too it (to make sure things look OK, so a slight adjustment to the matrices), the 2D elements can be rendered based on whether using the width makes the 2D elements being shown on screen or using the height of the used resolution.

That second shot came out way better than I expected (this is just during normal gameplay, no setup)
Amazing. Almost looks like concept art. If I didn't know better I'd call it a bullshot haha.

In the OT someone suggested I use Gedosato to remove the banding (he made some tweak to it which he posted on his github), which does annoy me somewhat.... but I'm struggling to keep 60 fps even with medium draw distance and FXAA. Do you know if I could use Gedosato only for debanding with minimal performance impact?

A decent port is a game that works as it's supposed to. Asking for new textures, controls, anything really, that's asking for an enhanced edition or something. I'm quite appreciative of the fact that they ported it without much issue. That AR thing is a pity which I wish they would've addressed though. They did add some features not present in the console version by the way. Gameplay-wise as well as visual.

got rid of the Super Turbo Lighting Mod
Don't like it and the tone of the author, neither.

I tried a texture mod once. But the mod endorsed my opinion about most of them. Too many changes that suits just the personal taste of its author, e.g. if any mod touches the hair color of a character like changing red hair to black.. well then this mod is black listed instantly. Here you see the vanilla game with ReShade with the settings the user NickPal provided me.

I kinda wish Nvidia/AMD would put something similar to the Reshade debanding shader directly into their drivers as a feature. Some games need it badly.

Some TVs can do it too. "Smooth Gradation" it's called on my Sony. Very useful feature for games.

You should if you're just slathering it on, yeah. My shots use quite heavy AO as well (ENBseries SSAO and SSIL that is) but I hope it isn't as jarring as in those last two shots. You're having a bit of fun there, right? If not, maybe use a larger sampling range.

Dead Space stuff looks really good. Shame that the key people (Glen Schofield etc.) who left Visceral right after to found Sledgehammer probably aren't going to work on a new IP any time soon. While I have no problem admitting I liked Advanced Warfare a great deal (and it was nice to see some Dead Space heritage shine through - excellent audio and a HUD that's integrated into the game world), I would love to see something all unexpected from that team.
