How modded (if at all) are those Silent Hill shots? Silent Hill 3 seems to hold up visually better than almost any console game of its era. All you really need to do to bring it up to modern respectability is tighten up the textures just a tad.

YES! Just like this. Keep using the same setup for crisp and clean shots of other games too ;)
(You could dial down the sharpness jussst a bit to 0.55ish for perfection because as Filben said, there is some sharpening artifacts visible, especially in that BW shot, otherwise these are great)

Yes it's Black Desert.
I just started playing too. (thanks 'Radio' for the beta key btw).

I've noticed like 9/10 player characters are females with blue, green or pink hair.
I hope they plan on giving classes the option to be a dudebro or a chicksista. And what's up with the Wizard class being only an old dude? Can't I be a younger dude?

Seems like a fun game though.
Those screenshots above sum up the chat in most MMOs too. Everyone's talking about WoW. Usually how WoW sucks and that the MMO they're playing in the chat is way better.
It's almost like it's a rule of MMOs that you have to talk about WoW and how shit it is compared to the MMO you're currently in.
With that said, WoW has kind of spoiled my impression of every other MMO I've played since it came out. It's like I hold everything up to it

Whoa I didn't notice that till you mentioned it. That's particularly bad indeed. I'm running Maldo 4.0 mod, so it's likely a result of that. Oh well... ;)

If I remember correctly the problem is in vanilla game too, it's a uv problem in that asset where walls use different angles because simulated destruction.

For those whove yet to play it, but have been following it, the issues with pop-in have been largely addressed, and it's far less noticeable. The LOD is also much better than the first NA beta, and even better than the KR beta. It's been more than a Year, and this game still makes my jaw drop in a lot of places. Feels like a living world, with minute details not just for the sake of detail, but to prove that something happened, and that things are always happening. It's not just a copy pasted house with NPCs doing idle stuff. Each house and character has it's own story, and because a large part of this game is accruing knowledge and meeting people, it seems like a very large part of the detail goes in to defining the characters and the world they inhabit.

(For those that don't know, Your character gains knowledge from everything, fighting an enemy enough will let you figure out its health, weakness, tendancies, etc. And this is all recorded in your codex-type encyclopedia of knowledge. When you meet people you learn their name. Talking with them might help you understand their likes and dislikes. They might tell you more about another character or creature or place. Some of them will only talk with you if you have knowledge in common, or if you know the right people or things. Some will want to learn from your experiences, and will trade info for it. You can even befriend almost any NPC, leading to more privileged knowledge, discounts, or even nothing!)

Ah! Don't worry about it ;)

In any case, thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this mod, it looks amazing!

I didn't spend too much time shooting in this beta, but the full game comes out in a few weeks so I'll be all over it then.

Here's a weird bug that shows the depth buffer when you take shots quickly...

And here's a bland, boring, meh shot to even out this post.

Hey thanks. Yeah definitely, I'll be using Lumasharpen more often! I had it set to .70 for these. The 1st shot was saved as a jpeg with Lanczos 3 and the 2nd one Lanczos 2 so it does appear the extra sharpening through Faststone is causing the artifacts.
