No, these screenshots aren't especially impressive looking. So why am I posting them?
Because I used AMD's FSR1 to upscale these X360 shots to 1080p. I was curious about the usefulness of FSR1 for, as Lottes would describe it, a best-case scenario. Lost Planet features fairly simple graphics with 4xMSAA on obvious straight lines without any pre-scaling (renders natively at 720p). Something like Alan Wake or GTAIV would be a terrible usage of FSR1 (I tried it. It's pointless for games with lots of soft edges.)
If you compare the FSR1-scaled images to the same images using purely Lanczos (as Xbox 360 would have used), it's clear that FSR1 is superior. However, you really have to stop and look closely at direct edge comparisons.
In any case, I'm glad I was able to satisfy my curiosity.
Here are the images scaled using Lanczos, if you want to look at them yourself:
Fallen Order on the Pro. I think it's the half dozenth time I've played it. I get an itch always around Christmas. And I can wipe it out in a couple days. So good.
They still haven't added hardware lumen for the pro version....why? There is literally no excuse not to have it in the 30fps mode, the rt hardware is more than capable of handling rt on the level of hardware lumen.
