2025 | Donkey Kong Bananza Direct (18th June) (2pm UK // 6am PT // 9am ET)

Just pre-ordered the game from The Game Collection (UK)

I have two questions for the GAF hivemind;

1. Do games ship early these days when pre-ordered form any uk stores? I haven't preordered in a long time. Back in the days, I pre ordered dark souls and it was shipped 2-3 days before release day from Simplygames

2. where can we pre-order the new DK and Pauline Amibo? my daughter will love that
On the rare occasion I've ordered anything physical its arrived on release day. Shopto, Amazon,Very etc.

You're better off with smaller retailers and indies to get lucky in my experience. Not familiar with TGC though so you never know.
The bigger retailers do fuck up from time to time though.

there must be some, I've seen people on Discord this morning have taken delivery of Death Stranding 2 already.

Pot luck in my experience. I once got Red Dead almost a week early from Amazon for example.

Either that or get friendly with your local indie.

The fluidly of DK's movement is so good.

i cant imagine the move sets they give to Mario, Link and Samus.

Its got worlds (or layers) like a classic Mario title, he transformers like the Mario suits. Load of different bonus courses. Nothing like the physics stuff in Zelda. I'm just not seeing it.
What do you mean "nothing like the physics stuff"? That's the entire point of the comparison. The way everything is destructible but also the different materials and their various effects is why people compare it to the new Zelda formula. There's nothing comparable in Oyssey but there's some similarity with BotW "chemistry" engine.

Also the climb everywhere mechanic, the more action/adventure/actionrpg elements like the health and damage upgrades, the clothes modifying your stats, the camps where you can sleep to recover, the way some ruins are hidden like shrines... It's clearly a mix between Odyssey and BotW.

The poster I was replying to said this game looked extremely similar to BOTW. If thats what you think you need your eyes testing.

Like I said its got far more in common with a 3D Mario game or DK than BOTW.
