Anyway, was it my imagination or did they keep switching between five and four escort fighters?

VPhys said:This episode would have been lost forever if they did not take down Air Force 1. There was WAY too much hype for that minimal payoff. There have been much better episodes this season that would have better deserved the advertising dollars.
Wasn't Palmer supposed to come back

The nuke going off in Season 2?
Or this episode?

DarthWoo said:Out of curiosity, assuming the nuclear "football" was somehow lost, aren't there procedures in place to lock down the nuclear arsenal? Aren't the codes only authorization codes that tell a human on the receiving end that they've been genuinely ordered to fire their missiles? It's not like these codes would let Marwan automatically fire off missiles, right?
God's Hand said:What a fucking awesome episode.

Granted, I was a victim of "The Fox Overhype," but still, I hold 24 to a higher standard than most other TV shows. I don't think I can anymore.
You're right, and that's the problem with 24. When the rare situation of a bad episode comes along, it's like a sucker-punch. Completely unexpected. When I (and nearly everyone else in this thread) realized what the show was working towards over a month ago, we only talked about it because we were sure that it couldn't be that straightforward. We just knew we couldn't be right; previous swerves had just been so good, how could the show be so obvious?MIMIC said:You said this was the "worst episode in 24 history." That's like calling Oprah Winfrey the "poorest billionaire."
THEY DECIDED TO FIRE ON AIR FORCE ONE. Can you believe it? I really thought they were just gonna derail some more trains and make the politicians scared to appear in public!Vibri said:What was the twist? Did I blink and miss it?
Pretty cool episode otherwise.
i think it was too late to do anything about the plane at that pointaaaaa0 said:I'm confused.
If they had the frequency of the stealth pilot's radio, and could tell if he was listening or not (which means they were getting a carrier signal back from him), why couldn't they track his plane?
Oh yeah, CTU's tactical teams are USELESS. Holy crap are they useless.
DarienA said:Umm... where was the twist? I figured that out as soon as I saw a pilot was involved.... what... 2 weeks ago?
Fifty said:Marwan is hilarious....he always has a guy waiting in a van to pick him up. He must have 30 of them just hiding around different parts of LA. Here's a tip for CTU: next time you've cornered him in a building, put a giant net around it, perhaps even watch fire exits and other emergency exits, because the odds are that he's going to come sneaking out of them.
"24" Appearance Changes a Life
Tomorrow night's episode of "24" will be a special one for a Twin Cities family.
A White Bear Lake teenager will make a second appearance on the show. A teenager whose dreams became reality by the Make A Wish Foundation.
This is Pete Meslow and Keifer Sutherland on the set of 24. At just 19, cancer took away Petes ability to go to school, play sports and even walk. But it was a show based on a 24-hour day that gave Pete a lifetime of memories.
For many, watching 24 takes us away from the troubles of daily life, if only for an hour. For Pete Meslow, it took him away from the reality of battling with cancer. Peter became part of the family at 24.
In January of 2003, Pete was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. In February of 04, this White Bear Lake teenager's Make a Wish became reality: he met the cast of 24, then became a part of it
Peter talked about 24 every single day, from the day he had Make a Wish. It was something that made the good days better and brightened some pretty hard day for him.
That is Peter, sitting there as an extra. His brother was also in the scene. It was perfect for him, mind-blowing for both of us, never expected anything like that.
Throughout the next year Pete and Keifer Sutherland kept in touch. Dear Peter, another season of 24 is coming to a close and can't think one of the best times we all had is having you out to the set.
In February, Pete went back to California. On February 1st he shot this scene that will air tomorrow. 7 days later, on February 8th he died.
He came home and said, Mom, I haven't thought of cancer for 5 days. And that it gives me so much happiness to know he was happy out there last week of his life.
Keep your chin up and don't forget how you have handled yourself during this fight its made all of us so proud to know you.
The letters and memorabilia are reminders to Petes family how Keifer and the cast opened their lives to a young teenager who never gave up his battle with cancer.
I need to look them in the eyes and tell them how happy they made Peter's last year of life.
Petes family will have a party tomorrow to watch the episode that will air at 8pm.
Petes scene is just after the last commercial break. The family plans on going to California in the near future to meet with the cast of 24.
Or... maybe us "nitpickers" expect more out of 24.
