Was it predictable? Yes. But damnit if it didn't still resonate. The episode wasn't about a shitload of action. It wasn't about a twist; FOX marketing it as such = Bullshit. We can't really blame them for this. They should have really gone with something like "The Moment You'll Never Forget" but they went with Twist and it seemed to have paid off. There was minimal effect on ratings from NCAA, which would have taken much more of 24's core audience than Raymond/Two and a Half Men. It's ratings were very good for its period, in the end, and it seems like a good decision was made.

I download 24, though, so I simply saw an episode building to a great moment, the great moment came. I don't give a shit about facts. 24 requires a suspension of reality, and the bulk of its audience wouldn't even know the difference between various factual things.

I knew I knew the division fella from CTU from somewhere... all I could remember was his distinctive sounding voice and that whatever movie I saw him in he sounded worried... I kept forgetting to look it up though... thanks to that insider chart I got his name and checked... he was Jet Li's partner in The One... Yes, we should all just accept whatever mediocrity we are given like lemmings If people want to complain or nitpick, why does it bother you? You liked it and that's great. I liked it but had some issues with it - especially considering that many of the issues were very obvious for me considering a lot of what I know about some of the practices/policy of US armed forces.

Anyways, you shouldn't hate people who are more discerning than you are.

Most people are upset that there was supposed to be some huge twist, but it turns out that it was just what everybody has been expecting for four weeks.

And picking a plane which actually has air to air capabilities, or just making one up altogether(this season is somewhere between 5 and 7 years in the future, plus there's tons of shit they make up), they used one that doesn't make any sense given the situation.

I don't watch shows or movies for twists...I watch 'em for semi-competent writing, semi-plausible scenarios, cool characters and some action. I knew the big twist was about nothing but AFO going down in flames (and as most have said this was obvious weeks ago), but didn't pay it a second thought...I just wanted to see how it would go down, or if it would, or if they'd be some bullshit escape act that would somehow avoid the inevitable. I'm just glad they went through with it. Those that got suckered in by hype really should know better, particularly when this is the same network that introduces a gutter-bred reality show every three weeks with the sort of hype reserved for the return of Jesus Christ.

And yeah, I liked the episode...I fell in love with that hot killer after she broke that guy's neck, but she sure got killed in a silly fashion. Chloe and Edgar are two of the most annoying characters I've ever seen...if the terrorists took them out, they'd be doing everyone a favour. And the climax I thought was fine...it's just a question to me of how they follow it up.

Kudos to everyone who guessed correctly: Anderson stole the Stealth bomber to shoot down Air Force One. But did you notice he brought the plane down but didn't take it out completely? Only in the coming attractions did we get a few clues as to why.

Looks like this latest terrorist plot was less about killing the president and more about stealing the top-secret information on board, which just happens to be the codes and locations to our entire nuclear arsenal.

Yeah, that's something you want Marwan to get his hands on. While this ep didn't exactly have me on the edge of my seat (it was fairly obvious what was going to happen) there were little lightening bolts along the way. When the flight simulator and plane schematics were found on Anderson's hard drive, I flashed back to the real terrorists of 9/11 (one of the hazards of watching a show like this). And when Chloe said, "We're being beaten by our own technology," I got the chills. Maybe that's why I welcomed the weird drama between Michelle and Tony (one gentle gesture, and he knows she's sleeping with Buchanan?), Audrey and Paul (the minute she told him he was brave, you knew it was over between her and Jack) and my favorite "couple" Chloe and Edgar. She totally saved his butt by taking the blame for the incompatible code. I stand by my theory. Get those two geeks a room! Some complain these stories take away from the true drama. I say we need them, if only as breaks from what could be a very scary reality.

Whoever says this show is predictable didn't guess that.
