I still don't understand how can every nameless character that help Jack dies but Chloe is still alive and well.
And they better keep it like that. She's one of the few likable characters remaining.

I decided to cave in and read the spoilers since I figured there's no chance I could avoid them until January.

First thing I gotta say is that
Tony is the king. He's my favourite character in the whole show and it's gonna be great to see him in action again.
I just really hope that
they don't make his return too goofy and ruin his character. As long as they explain his reappearance in a digestable way, I'll be more than happy to go along with it and CHEER FOR TONY. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I'm so fucking happy that
Tony
is back! I dont care if his return doesnt make sense, I just want to see him again. He was the second best character in the show after jack.

After season four 24 had two problems. They were running out of idea's and they couldnt replace the memorable characters. in the first few seasons there were so many memorable characters such as palmer, mike, tony, michelle, nina, mason and chapelle. They've not been able to replace the great characters from the show. Bringing back
Tony
would be massive because the show desperately needs characters like him

Bump time. Trailer for Day 7 will be out on October 25th on http://www.24trailer.com/

Here's the press release. Even though this is a spoilers thread, I'll still tag the plot info.

The worldwide premiere will be seen concurrently around the globe at locations, via mobile and online in the U.K., Canada, South America, Europe and Asia. The countdown to the trailer’s debut begins today at www.24trailer.com. The first promo for the new season is also scheduled to air during Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday, Oct. 25 (8:00 PM-CC ET/5:00 PM-CC PT) on FOX.

The innovative, addictive, Emmy Award-winning television series 24 resets the clock for “Day 7” with a special two-night premiere event beginning Sunday, Jan. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and continuing in the series’ regular time period Monday, Jan. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The season will unfold without repeats, airing all originals through the season finale in June.

Set in Washington, DC, “Day 7” opens with CTU dismantled and JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) on trial. Bauer’s day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA (Carlos Bernard) returns. Meanwhile, President ALLISON TAYLOR (Cherry Jones) leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN (Bob Gunton) and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR (Colm Feore).

A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including Agent JANIS GOLD (Janeane Garofalo), Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching), Agent LARRY MOSS (Jeffrey Nordling), Agent SEAN HILLINGER (Rhys Coiro) and security specialist MICHAEL LATHAM (John Billingsley). Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O’BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison) are back for another momentous day of shocking events.

As part of News Corp.’s global commitment to fighting climate change, 24 has pledged significant and innovative changes to its production practices with the goal of saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.

Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 is a production of Real Time Productions and Imagine Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, Jon Cassar, Manny Coto, David Fury, Kiefer Sutherland and Brian Grazer are the executive producers.

As long as the FBI agent subplot doesn't occasionally take up entire episodes where Jack is in transit the entire episode and is only in the beginning and end of the episode I'll be fine with it.

I like the episodes where Jack isn't in it much. Lone ranger Jack is boring. This show is always at its most exciting when the supporting players are the focus and the ones being put in danger.

Looking forward to the trailer. Hopefully we get an idea of
Tony's
role in the season.

Wow, it sounds as if the producers really have altered the format for this season...

That, along with the fact that Keifer is spending Xmas in jail so that he can film this season, has brought me back into the 24 fold after last season's unfathomable nadir of ultimate awfulness.

jobber

Would let Tony Parker sleep with his wife
Jack isn't in court by the end of ep 1...in fact, he's in the field with the FBI

ooops forgot

a link to Africa is still in the plot.......

Can't say I'm excited about the changes they made. Sounds to me like they're just rolling with the same tired old stuff they've been doing for years, just with
CTU replaced by FBI
and a chance of scenery. Someone needs to send Keifer a copy of the Bourne series. This season needed to be about Bauer in a completely different setting, helpless and depending on his past experiences. Also, the power struggle within the White House really needs to go. What's wrong with using the UN for a chance, NATO or the World Bank?
