You should spoiler that above post Sean.
Sean said:There's a whole new cast () which includes the first female president on the show. There's an all new location for the first time (Washington, DC). And no CTU this year either - it's been disbanded. I don't expect the show to be completely different or anything, but this is the most changes they've ever made.aside from Bill, Chloe, and now Tony

I agree. The changes made are sufficient enough to please me. The show still has to remain distinctly 24. It's like some of you want it to evolve into something that wouldn't be recognisable anymore. If they wanted to do a complete reboot, i personally wouldn't have minded a slow paced serial killer plotline using the real time format, but i'll admit that goes against everything this show *is*. No matter what, there are going to be elements that hearken back to earlier seasons or feel like repeat plotlines. It is the very nature of this type of action thriller. It is how the plotlines are executed that makes the difference.Sean said:What else can they possibly change though? It's not like they are going to replace Jack Bauer or anything..
I think they've made enough changes personally.

The innovative, addictive, Emmy Award-winning television series 24 resets the clock for Season Seven with a special two-night premiere event Sunday, Jan. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Monday, Jan. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
In keeping with FOX’s commitment to airing original programming year-round, the intense season will unfold in 24’s regular 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT time period beginning Monday, Jan. 14, and will continue to air all originals all season into June.
“Day 7” of 24 will continue the show’s unique and trend-setting format with compelling new elements. With CTU dismantled, the show’s setting moves to Washington, DC, where JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) faces trial for his actions in the pursuit of justice. Bauer’s day gets off to a shocking start when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA (Carlos Bernard), last seen in “Day 5,” returns after being left for dead by a terrorist conspirator in CTU’s infirmary.
“Tony’s uncertain fate near the end of ‘Day 5’ left the door open for his return,” said executive producer/show-runner Howard Gordon. “And since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance – the 24 tribute to a major character’s demise – we always kept this as a possibility.”
Bernard’s return highlights a list of notable cast members clocking in for Season Seven, including the previously announced Cherry Jones (“The Heiress” as President ALLISON TAYLOR and Janeane Garofalo (“The Larry Sanders Show” as FBI Agent JANIS GOLD. Colm Feore (“Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee” will play First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR and Bob Gunton (“Desperate Housewives” is White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN.
FBI Agents assigned to the team investigating the crisis befalling Bauer include Garofalo’s Agent Gold in addition to Annie Wersching (“General Hospital” as Agent RENEE WALKER, Jeffrey Nordling (“Dirt” as Agent LARRY MOSS and Rhys Coiro (“Entourage” as Agent SEAN HILLINGER. John Billingsley (PRISON BREAK) portrays security specialist MICHAEL LATHAM. Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O’BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison) are back for another momentous day of shocking events.
As part of News Corp.’s global commitment to fighting climate change, 24 has pledged significant and innovative changes to its production practices with the goal of saving energy and reducing carbon emissions. Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 is a production of Real Time Productions and Imagine Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, Jon Cassar, Manny Coto, David Fury, Kiefer Sutherland and Brian Grazer are the executive producers.
I thinkTony will be the badguy!!
Nice to see Bob Gunton is back after they thoroughly wasted him in the final few episodes of season 6. I'm really loving the casting thus far.jobber said:I don't think this will be a spoiler butaccording to this http://web.mac.com/joncassar/Site/24.html it'll be a lot of Bauer action by the end of ep 2

It just begs the question.Nameless said:Well I think its coming, and it makes perfect sense. Think about it.would obviously blame Jack forTony. Also, Jack stoppedthe death of Michelle in that explosion, as he was was the real reason they went after Tony & Michelle in the first placefrom killingTonygiving him the oppurtunity toHenderson.inject Tony with that serum
Spotless Mind said:It just begs the question. Why bring Tony back at all if you are going to make him a completely different character to the one people loved? It's just overkill, considering last season Jack's father was the villain. Now his best friend he thought was dead is a bad guy? If it happens, it has to be executed EXTREMELY well for me to like it.
:lolStoney Mason said:They still have Jack cousin's to use as villains...His maid, His frat brothers from college perhaps....His daughter...

Huh? He is obviously alive and i can say without a doubt he will be back at some point.Stoney Mason said:Yes that would make....absolutely no sense....
Yeah i read that and that's why i'm miffed by this news somewhat - if they go there. I can live with them bringing him back, but not with them making him a villain to make it 'personal' to Jack. Just look at last season. Jack's brother AND father were made villains and it didn't really bring much of anything to the table other than overblown family 'drama'. It was intensely personal and coincidental to the point of parody.Sean said:On second thought, looks likemight possibly be the villain after all.Tony
"We didn't give him the silent clock because we always wanted to keep alive the possibility for some kind of (admittedly) miraculous resurrection ... which we will explain," Gordon wrote. "He's definitely NOT the Almeida we once knew." (emphasis on last sentence there).

And yeah it's kinda pointless to use spoilertags here, this is a season 7 thread after all. Did it anyway just in case.

The producers have spoken: The answers are all in the silent clock.
You will recall that when lovable Edgar Stiles (Louis Lombardi) died in the episode right after Tony Almeida took his last breath, there was a sad, sad silent clock that marked the passing of our favorite CTU analyst.
There was no such clock when Tony died in Jack's arms and this was deliberate, executive producer Howard Gordon wrote in an e-mail to The Times this afternoon.

Solo said:Soul Patch or not, its still the same old tired group of execs and writers. I expect S6 Redux in S7. 4 or so fantastic opening episodes to pull the wool over our eyes, then 20 episodes of varying degrees of shit. Id love to be proved wrong, but Im betting I wont be.

omg rite said:Jesus people, we had one HORRIBLE season of an otherwise amazing show, with season 4 being mediocre, but not horrible.
Give the show a chance.
Solo said:Id say that both S4 and S6 were awful, S3 and S5 were somewhat decent, and S1 and S2 were outstanding. Not exactly the most consistent track record, and the seasons of greatness are long in the past now. I think concerns over next season are perfectly valid.
