Netflix 3D? Youtube 3D? Being able to import our own 3D movies?

8. The update will add a new application to your system's Home Menu:"Nintendo Zone" active when you're at a Nintendo 3DS hotspot location.Provides free access to exclusive content, streaming 3D videos(such as game trailers,tv ads) trivia games, and retail promotions

I thought this was the point of SpotPass in the first place. I hate when they expect you to carry your DS/3DS into electronics stores.

Looking forward to the eShop redesign and new Streetpass content the most. I've completed everything in Streetpass currently and don't have any motivation to bring around with me anymore.

3. Transfer game files between Nintendo 3DS systems

Speaking of which, how does 'trading in a system for new system' work at GS? (like dsi to dsi XL or 3ds)

Do they allow you to 'transfer' purchases over?

Is it really that crazy to think that a Gamestop employee would let you trade the system in, get a new system, and then let you transfer between the two?

They just let someone I know do it, but I don't think they HAVE to let you do it. So if you go into one of those Gamestops with a jerk manager who does everything totally by the book and treats his employees and customers like shit and lords over them, you might be SOL.

I think at other places that allowing trading in, like Best Buy, you'd have to have a long Customer Service chat, as they are not as used to this kind of thing.

I don't know about GS but over here in the UK at GAME when I traded in my old 360 for the new one I had to buy the new 360 for full price and got to transfer over my saves etc and then got the money refunded when I traded in the 360 the next day. They might be willing to do the same sort of thing.

No. I did something like that once. I moved over my Wi-Fi Connection stuff from an old DS to a new one, right at the counter.

I swear they let people do it when they upgraded to the Slim 360's. People probably got charged the full amount then got the credit for trading in the system after they were done with the data transfer and you had a week to bring the system in to be guaranteed the trade in value quoted or something.

If it's the busy Christmas season they might not have time for you to sit around and transfer your stuff. Depends on the employees.

Yeah, I could see if its really busy, but then I think they may just say "you'll have to wait if you want to do that" or something.

I was told by a GS employee a couple of days ago that the 3DS system transfer requires both systems to be connected to Wi-Fi, and since Gamestop doesn't have a signal, they can't do it.

Only thing I really want to know is what is moved over in the transfer process.

Purchased games, obviously, but does the Activity Monitor information go with it? How about your friends list?

Yea local wifi, as in 3DS to 3DS not over the internet. It will most likely work like how the DSi to 3DS one works.

Right. In the same room, and also connected to the same Wi-Fi signal. But he also seemed unaware that it wasn't already possible 3DS to 3DS.

Actually, I plan to sell my current teal to a friend and get the Zelda bundle. Do we know what all will transfer? Find Mii/Puzzle Swap progress? Streetpass hits?

Activity and friend list are linked to the FC, you lose them if you for example... format your 3ds. So pretty much those aren't transfered.

Well that's a bit of a bummer. I liked the activity info.

Ah well, no harm done in the long run.

Edit: Huh, Duane brings up a good point, what about streetpass indeed.

another random Gamestop question.

If I just buy the 'inevitable super 3ds' and trade in my 3ds the next day, would the credit amount be the same? Or is there some 'bonus' credit?

Well, i formatted my 3ds by mistake like in august. It just leaved me with the latest firmware update i made (browser, eshop by that time), eshop purchases. Everything else vanished and the system gave me a new Friend code, erasing my friend list and streetpasses.

So my guess is that it transfers all the data not tied to the FC. But i hope that the update allow to transfer the FC itself, that should transfer everything.

Why does that mean they wouldn't be transferrable? I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to transfer your Friend Code, Activity Log data, StreetPass data, etc.

2. QR code functionality will be improved
It would be nice if they made it so you can hit L/R on the home menu to open the camera, then point at a QR code to read it and launch the contained URL/etc.

Trying out a Demo is the best thing they could give us. I just tried out some DS ones on the Wii Nintendo Channel, instantly made me aware of what I was/wasn't missing out on.
