GAF, I need your help!

Are my 3DS screens ok? Compared them to my old one and they look warmer...

They actually look really good. I'd say the 3DS on the left has too much a blue tint.

They are just naturally warmer. I'll live with it. Anyone else have the back plate feel kinda loose? Like, while playing sometimes I feel like its a little loose. I notice the screws are only on the top to so maybe that's why.

Dammit, I suppose I can take worse speakers for a better build, screens, and correct stylus position. Tomorrow I shall turn my dsi and 3ds into their xl versions.

I noticed this too. I hope it stays secure ?:0|

The pictures in this thread has increased my desire for one even though I don't want one... Is it possible to transfer games and wallet i have on my OG 3DS onto a new 3DS XL if I decide get one?

So... Pushmo. Very impressed by this one.

It's the type of game that I'd play on my iPhone for a few minutes and say "huh, cool". But I think having the physical controls of the 3DS makes me more into it than I'd normally be. Just can't get immersed in an iPhone game like I can on a real handheld.

A bit frustrated that I put $10 in my eShop account and bought Pushmo for $6.99 and can't buy anything else cause of taxes, though.

Yep, it's all taken care of by the System Transfer we've all been talking about.

So go into the store settings and set your zipcode to something in Alaska. No more tax.

No shit? Why doesn't amazon sell it then?

Edit: I was looking at blue/black. Sweet, I may pick one up tomorrow.

Amazon no longer sells Nintendo hardware.

What do I need to do to prep my 3ds for trade in?

It depends, if your EB will let you trade it in for $100 and let you buy it, transfer your data, and then bring in the original 3DS for credit you don't need to do anything besides go in and get a unit.

Otherwise, if you're trading it in and not doing a system transfer all you need to do is pull out the memory card and delete your system data?

So I could transfer my ambassador games to my brother's 3DS, trade it in to EB games for the $60 credit towards my 3DS XL, (or try to sell it for more somewhere else I suppose) then transfer my games back from my brother's 3DS to the new XL right?

Don't take $60 for it. EB in Canada is ripping people off big time by offering $60. You can easily get $100 on GAF/Craigslist/Ebay.

Can't say I like the new headphone jack placement. I can't hold the thing the way I normally would. Why couldn't they just leave it in the middle?

Not a big deal, just kind of annoying. I do like the spot where the stylus is now though.

Also the speakers aren't so bad, not sure what people were complaining about. For good sound you want to be using headphones anyway.

Fry's was out... =(

Today was the only day to get it at $20 off, right? I was tempted to get one on sale but now I guess I'll wait until they come out with some decent colors or Luigi's Mansion releases.

Question, is steel diver worth it? Should I take it back and get pilot wings instead?

I say return Steel diver and get Pilot Wings instead. There isn't much to steel diver and I paid $5 for it..Kinda wish I had the $5 back. Pilot Wings on the other hand is enjoyable.

I like the machine a lot. At first it took a little getting used to, but its nice having such clean 3D now. Mario kart 3d is so amazing.

If people can't wait for a screen protector and are paranoid of screen defects (like me), the official sony vita screen protector works just as good (although the bottom won't fit without cutting).

Oh I think the speakers are too quiet though. Red = mario so Red XL was the choice for me. Too bad there was no luigi green version...

Just picked up the blue 3DS XL today. I hadn't really kept up on the 3DS XL news since it was announced that it wouldn't include the power cable. So I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the box lol. Overall the unit looks great and it's also very light despite it's size.

It looks great next to my DSi XL, Nintendo should release them as XL at launch next time.

Edit: Have it transferring from my ambassador 3DS, the little pikmins running around are awesome

Did the $100 GS deal, and this thing is definitely a significant improvement IMO. It feels so much better because of the weight and the extra real estate for the screen is awesome. Now I just need to find my Tales of the Abyss cartridge :(

My 3DS Xl [red] had a moderate sized cluster of darkened pixels. I took it back to Walmart and had to have it inspected by an electronics manager. I made my case and they allowed me to return it. I had to pick up another red from another store, and I asked about their return policy before I purchased it.

This one has no problems.

The speakers of the 3DS XL are horrendous on at least my DS game [I haven't played any 3ds games yet since I'm not done with my last DS game], so I don't know if they just sound terrible for the DS games or also the 3DS games.

Headphones.

It's also for 3DS games. I've only played Kingdom Hearts on mine so far and the sound is shit! If the room is silent then it's alright but any other sound and it requires headphones.

Now that everyone has the 3DS does it really make 3DS games look pixely and blurry like initially thought? Or was the whole thing blown out of proportion and the difference is negligible?

Also, since when is Yoshi's Island available on 3DS?

Steel Diver took me 54 hours to complete 100%. I put around 20 some hours, I believe, into Pilot Wings Resort before I finished it off completely. I think it's a bit ignorant to say that there isn't "much" to the game without doing some research first. I don't want to be one of those "guys", but Steel Diver is still probably my favorite 3DS game still. The mechanics in Steel Diver are extremely tight and it takes a lot of time and patience to master. Gaining all of the Gold Medals in Steel Diver is no joke and it adds A LOT of replay value. If you like perfecting scores and beating stages precisely and efficiently then there's a lot to love about the game. Why don't people complain about Star Fox 64 being so short? There are medals to earn in that game too yet no one ever complains about there not being enough content. I look at Steel Diver as a slow paced, arcade shooter, only without the shooting, lol!

It's easy to go with the general consensus and quickly agree with the majority of reviews out there, but the game deserves more than a quick look. Sure, Pilot Wings is more comfortable and exciting than Steel Diver, but it certainly doesn't mean its got more meat on its bone just because MORE people played it and enjoyed it over Steel Diver.

/defense force. Sorry for derailing the thread, I'm pretty attached to Steel Diver and I don't think the majority of the criticism is justified.

Depends on the game I find. The blocky racers in Mario Kart 7 are more noticeable, but I think 3D Land and Theatrhythm look really crisp and clean blown up.
