Basically every 3DS game I own ^__^

I've been holding off playing Kid Icarus and Zelda to play them on the XL. I also have Picross 3D, which I've been playing on my 3DS, but as the puzzles get bigger, my ability to play them on the 3DS wanes.

Holding off getting Kid Icarus. Going to get it (and New Super Mario Bros. 2) when the XL comes out. So I'll be playing those two games and I'll also go back to Star Fox 3D, Dead or Alive, and I'll continue on playing Mario Kart 7.

I just finished playing Mario Kart 7 for about an hour. My hands were hurting due to the sharp corners of the 3DS. I can't wait for the 3DS XL.

Not that I necessarily don't believe you, but why should I take your word for it? Can you back that up? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but that's the sort of thing you just don't take someone's word on.
Because he's right. The transfer process from 3DS to 3DS XL is exactly the same as the transfer process from 3DS to 3DS, which many people, including myself, have already done. Literally everything is transferred over to the new 3DS, except any stored credit card info in the eShop, I believe. Your data will be exactly the same as it was on your old 3DS, including all eShop purchases and downloaded content, StreetPass data, extra data, Activity Log data, Play Coins, and even the folders on your HOME Menu.

Cool, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks. I haven't needed to perform a transfer process before, so that's good to hear. I was worried there'd be an issue with your Game Cards not recognizing a 3DS different than the one you used to start playing it (like, for example, with Mario Kart DS binding itself to your DS to be played online), but it sounds as if the transfer process moves whatever data is needed over to your new 3DS so that that isn't an issue.

Thanks again.

RIGHT.

Finalised my decision on where to purchase. Will get it next Friday from my local blockbuster. £169.99 after staff discount, plus £70 trade in for my 3DS (that only cost me 70 anyway), and £20 credit from some old blu rays.

Anyway - put down the £79.99 I needed to pay for it as a deposit, so next Friday morning I'll be able to pick it up. Can do the transfer in store too using my phone as a hotspot.

perfect plan! :) the transfare is going to take somme time ,though.

looks like i can pick up my XL one or two days earlier. Good stuff!

Yup, all your game cards will work just like they should!

And no problem!

Who's actually buying a hard copy of NSMB2 and who's downloading it?

Buying a hardcopy for the same reason as Chopper.
That and I had about £8 of GAME credit left which I wanted to be shot of. Guess I was lucky the new owners didn't wiped the accounts.

*brofist*

These guys are gonna be super jealous of our plastic coin. :)

So, games that work with the extra circle pad, do they NEED it? I might be tempted but if certain games like Resi are going to require a peripheral it might put me off.

Also any reports on the new battery life?

I would say no - I got annoyed by the shape / feel of the CCP so disregarded it pretty early on with Resi Revelations. If you feel you really really need the dual analogue, I guess it might be an issue with you but, honestly, the games that currently use the CCP in no way actually require it (in my opinion, of course).

Very tempted to get one. Fixes the main issues I had with the 3DS which were the screen size and the cramped button layout. The deal breaker will be if the difference in pixel density is really noticeable.

It honestly is 100% up to your own personal preference.

Like, I couldn't play Peace Walker on the PSP because of the controls because I hated them, so I knew i'd feel the same way about MGS3D and bought it for that.

Something like RE is fine without it for me because i'm fine with the tank-style controls.

KH3D I don't feel I need it because I was fine without a second stick for BBS.

I didn't feel I needed it for KI:U because i'm not a lefty.

What a dick, luckily I'm not a fast reader. Ban this man.

Anyway, definitely getting one now. I can trade in my 3DS for 100 euros and pay 83 for the XL, so that seems like a good deal to me.

At a Gamemania store by any chance? I went there last week the guy behind the counter didn't see the point of doing a system transfer but he was willing to allow it and has a wifi connection in the store apparently.
So that's what I'm going to do as well.

Yes exactly, I want to go by my Gamemania store this week to check if I can do the system transfer as well right there, because that is a must. What gets transferred precisely? The eShop games are locked to your account anyway and your savegames are on the SD card that you can swap right?

A lot of stuff is stored on the sdcard but the problem is that some/all of that data might be signed meaning that if you where to place that sdcard in someone else's 3DS you won't be able to access it. And I do not think eshop games are tied to some account that's what everybody has been complaining about in this thread :)

wait, that means that if I buy a japanese 3DS XL, I maybe won't be able to transfer my Monster Hunter 3G save ?! :S :S

How could I know if it will work or not ?

soo I'm about to finalize my order with amazon.it. Which colour are people going for? i'm undecided between red and blue ^^

Red looks like the one to get, the blue is a bit too dull for my tastes. I was planning on waiting on silver but it looks a bit too much like the OG DS for my tastes.

MH3G saves on the sd card? are you sure? normally 3ds games save on the gamecard itself.

firstly, fuck yeah prison break

secondly:

I've just finished Zelda OOT on a 3 heart run. Starting next Friday, once I get my XL, I'm going to play through a 3 heart run of master quest. It will be hard. It will be BRUTAL. IT WILL BE AWESOME

WISH ME LUCK

Does anyone know what the best deal currently is on 3ds xl in the UK (including trade in for 3ds etc)

My OG 3DS fits in the back pockets of my Levi's 509 and 511s perfectly, which means the XL most likely wouldn't.

I do front pockets to walk my 3DS I still feel I may have enough room in the front pockets but it will be snug

need tests done since I have to wait a month or so
