Don't understand this ^

Why suffer the extra few days, when you could walk into a store and have it Sunday morning?

Is the $15 dollars in tax worth an extra 72 hours?

Not just GameStop:

Walmart, you could potentially have BOTH the XL and NSMB2 when the clock strikes midnight Sat/Sun

Target: opens earlier than GameStop

Then best buy, ToysRus, GameStop and KMart (20$ off next purchase deal)...

Some people have credit. Some hate gamestop.

Confirmation email - waiting on the UPS tracking number to start working. You know, how it takes a while for the system to catch up once the number is generated.
 
What timing! I was playing some mario kart 7 yesterday after putting it down for a few months. So frustrating, haha. About to go in flying section (maple treeway canon), 2nd and 3rd place with red shell, I have a green shell at 1st. Of course the 2nd place fire at me, somehow the 3rd place got into 2nd and fire again. So 2 red shell comes flying, save 1 with green shell and down the pit I go.

On topic, I tried to buy XL, the cashier took it out, ring it $999.99, then said "maybe you have to wait for a few days". Oh well.
 
Pretty sure come release day my girlfriend is going to surprise me with a red one.. I have certainly talked about wanting one enough and she asked me what color "I would want if I had the choice" :D

I've been getting my 3 year old excited for Sunday. He wants to Seth bigger (SFIV). He asked me yesterday what day it was as he's also counting the days down
 
I picked up a blue one, don't think I could be more pleased with the thing. The screens are great, the buttons are all way better (select/home/start in particular) and the thing is just a better design than the original in my opinion.

Only thing I'm bummed about is having to wait for the new CPP as I can't bring myself to play RE:R or MGS3D without it.

I am normally terrible at racing games but the Mario Kart games are pretty easy to build up to and also correct mistakes with items. You are playing a different game then.

In mirror mode if you are in last you still get shit items. The opponent cars rubberband like crazy and accelerate faster than you no matter what your stats are.

there are pics/videos of someone modding his existing CPP to work on the XL
 
Any reason I would want a larger SD card than the freebie 2gb/4gb card?

I have all my ambassador games, a bunch of downloaded games, and my 2GB card still has plenty of room.

(even though I went all digital with my Vita, I'll be doing physical carts only while Nintendo has no account system)

I don't mind waiting a few days for it, especially if I don't have to pay tax. If amazon offered it I have prime and might have spent the extra 3-4 bucks for 1 day. I would hardly call it suffering.

Based on my experiences teaching 20 year olds to block is rough too.

On Topic: I'm hoping that BB is going let people order online for store pickup on Siunday. The pre-order page is saying that's not available for now.

I would think the biggest convenience of retail:

Defects = instant exchange ^_^
 
The AMEX Twitter offer more than pays for tax (at 7.75%) and I also get it instantly and can exchange defects right away AND get reward zone points. win-win-win

That's cool. While exhcanges on the internet are not instant, i can be at peace and mind that I didn't have to chalk up $16 in taxes. Waiting it out for me is the best choice since I can then wait for my screen protectors to come in too.
 
US folks make sure to check for 180$ deals. Lots of stores over here felt guilty for no adapters and either dropped the price to that or included an AC

But the 3DS XL comes with an AC adapter in the US. Also, all of next weeks ads are out and there really aren't any great deals.
 
I think I read someone say once that the type of SD card you have affects loading time and even game frame rate. Is that true? I know my 3DS takes a second to load any icons that are from apps on the SD when I first boot it up but I never thought much of it.

The SD card in my 3DS is an 8Gb SDHC Card.

The class of the card can affect read and write but generally you arent going to improve that much. That said you can get Class 10 32GB cards for 20-30 bucks
 
My newegg order of the system has shipped, but NSMB2 has not yet. I went with blue.

EDIT:

Then right after I posted the above I got the shipping notification for NSMB2!

Looks like bright sky blue...

Was hoping it would be a hue deeper.

Kind of regretting a blue preorder, should switch to red?

I don't want a bright or baby blue >:0/
