$4.99 games at Circuit City in store (YMMV)

I went to National City today and they had squat again. I asked around and all they said "what we have is on the shelves" and that they weren't holding anything back.

Anyone having luck getting price matches at Walmart (or any other store) even though CC doesn't have games in stock in your area?
ugh. guess i won't be heading out tomorrow.

there were lots of $4.99 games at the CC I went to today. only problem - they all rang up at $19.99. They seem to have a new UPC sticker on the back and they were instructing everyone to scan those instead of the front UPC's.

The plot thickens...

IF they had ZOE 2 and Disgaea you sir are my new best friend. They have little to nothing here in frenso.

Most Circuit Cities in Los Angeles area are completely sold out and will not be restocking.

"Hi, I hear you're having a $4.99 game sale beginning tomorrow, and titles depend on the store. Can you tell me what games will be on sale or in stock?"

"We're all sold out on those."

"What, all of the games?"

"Yes, every $4.99 game is sold out."

:/

Which ones exactly? =\ I was planning to give it a go to a couple stores where i saw them pulling the games last sunday.

I guess im probably just gonna hit the one store where i saw a cart full of games being taken away for the Sale, i might get lucky.

I saw my CC had a $4.99 bin out today (which was there last week) along with new, temporary stands housing more $4.99 titles. Apparently they had pulled a lot games until the new displays were put up.

Also, I traded in 4 of the titles I picked up lat week that I didn't like for $40 in credit toward Spiderman 2. I plan on picking up some total garbage (Sponge Bob and Scooby Doo) and trading in for credit toward Madden 2005.

When does Circuit City open? And where do I get their advertisements?

I don't know exactly when they open, but my guess would be around 10:00am. As for their advertisements, you can either get them in your local Sunday paper, or you could just log on to here .

If anyone finds MGS2: Substance for PS2, I'll pay them 10 bucks (probably be able to send it out on Tuesday)
If you can also find Ninja Assault, I'll give you 30 for both MGS2:Substance and Ninja Assault.

Thx plz. :)

Wonderful, i know my store wont have anything. But they better have something. We dont need any bait and switch going on today.

Maybe we might be able to get a nice little pricematching thing going on with some receipts. It might be worth a try.

I totally do not feel like going out there today. I was there on the 4th, and I'm not sure if they had the games pulled yet or not. However, when I was there, I saw they had games like Megaman X7 and Metal Gear still out, they were on the list, yet Disgaea, which I was looking for was no where in sight. So I'm guessing even if I went it would just be a wasted trip, as the main game I was looking for wasn't there to begin with...

like I said in the other thread, the Fairly Oddparents game is $21 trade-in credit at Game Rush so you can amass quite the fortune in credit if you can find enough copies of the game.

There's a $4.99 game sale blurb in todays circular. Will Best Buy call for price matching if they see it? I've never used price matching before. Sadly.

Just got back from the CC in Boca Raton off of Sample and 441 and they are totally wiped out. All that they had was a few jam packs and a handful of really shitty games.

Reports are already coming in from Cheapass Gamer of this being a complete bust. I really hope people aren't getting their hopes up too high.

I'm going back to bed!

Well mine opens in less than 90 heres to hoping. I hope i aint waisting my time and money by going there. Cause if so there will be hell to pay.

"Somehow 'I told you so' just doesn't quite say it..."

Just got back. WOOOOOO!! What a haul

A HAUL OF SHIT. Only thing there were lame 01'02' sports games

So since the "sale" starts today, these games will be marked/in a bin? Or should I still print out the list if I plan on making a drop in?

don't think you will need a list all 10 to 12 games left will be in a bin.

Hope you like Mad Maestro, Haven.and Mojo.

Whoever is going out to Circuit City this morning needs to take a camera with them. There are bound to be fights!

Should have brought the camera last week. Someone pointed me to a Something Awful thread last week where some guy got shoved by a Korean guy cause he picked up the last copy of PN03. This is after the Korean guy put 4 PN03's in his basket. The Korean also called him a derogatory word, so the guy proceeded to kick the Korean's ass. Cops came, employees tell them the Korean guy started, Korean guy gets escorted. Guy goes through Korean's basket and finds multiple copies of games such as PN03 and Disgaea.

Damn, the discount game selection at Circuit City sucks now :| A few games I know were $4.99 last weekend were now full price.. basically shit like licensed GBA/PS1 games and 2001 or 2002 iterations of sports games were about all they had discounted now.

If you were on the fence about going today, don't bother. Also, there's a limit of 5 per customer now.

They won't call because there's nothing to match. There needs to be specific titles listed and prices to get price matches. A generic 4.99 blurb isn't gonna get you past a firm "no."

This one lady HOLDING A BABY was trying to push by and bogard me to the $4.99 bin! I was like: "WTF?! I could knock you to the ground and you're holding a baby trying to thrust me out of the way??" It was funny (when the store opened), it started out as a mild walk...then people started moving more briskly, until a few in the front were full out running. LOL Oh, and lady with the baby pulled a NASCAR on me going through the security entrance. And for those of you who don't know me, I wear 60-62 size suits for my shoulders and chest and back and this lady was willing to slip by by turning her body (with a baby) just to beat me...Cheap prices make people do crazy things. :)

I uhh...got some bad games...hopefully I can trade them in towards some better games.

Agent Under Fire
Batman: Dar Tomorrow
THPS3
Knockout Kings 2003
UFC Throwdown

(All 'cube)

Coulda got Wrestlemania XIX and Legends of Wrestling and some other not so good games but decided that was enough.

Stores also had 5 and 3 games limits per customer.

Wario, you need to make a topic on trade-in deals now. :P

NOTHING.

We were waiting outside the door when the store opened. Went in there to find a bin that was about a third full. Freaky Flyers, Mojo, Arcade Advanced, &c. Total bust.

Not wanting it to be a total bust we went to Strawberries, Coconuts, Gamestop, etc. I found a used Godfather DVD set for $47, which is not-awful. Plus a used Castle In The Sky for $17. And we had McDonald's. So I'm not bitter.

Since I was driving by Circuit City this morning on the way home from getting my car repaired, I figured I'd drop in. There were 25 people waiting outside, who walked as quickly as they could to the bargain bin as soon as the place opened. The only thing in the bin was demo discs, UFC Throwdown, and a lone copy of Terminator: Dawn of Fate (6.1 @ Gamespot), which another customer with a small child snatched right out of my fucking hand and ran off with. Later the kid came up to her father with a copy of Spongebob Squarepants and he screamed, "NO! NO! THAT'S FORTY DOLLARS!!"

Hahaha! I remember your picture man, I would've been like "here you go sir, oh look, an Ikaruga just for you!" :) Bitch was endangering TWO lives just to get Alter Echo. ;)

hoped for a restock, but today brought nothing.

i walked in to find a bin full of bad titles, too. oh well, i made out alright last monday.

looks like the sale is officially over, just as it officially started.

wasted my time, too. i got lucky and picked up boktai and MM network transmission last week, but there were no restocks for the official sale today. just lots of peopel buying shit titles like new legends on xbox and several dozen dbz titles on gba.

Me too :(

The only game I bought was NFL2k3, all the CC's in SJ are fucked over for GC games.

When did the early clearance sale start?

Just a heads up, in the future if you see a title at Circuit City that's relatively old or one you think should be discounted you should take it up to the cashier and have them ring it up even if it's still marked at it's original retail price. You might be able to get the game at a lower price than marked on the box. Circuit City is weird like that. They don't mark the price of their games correctly for some reason.
