Damn. That's messed up.
Actually if you went into the past texting and driving thread, there is no double standard. People on GAF hate it as much as drunk driving.
It's this jump from "Having a margarita with your tacos" to "NOW YOU WILL BE A MURDERER!" that I've always found utterly ridiculous. It reminds me of the anti-drug ads where one day a kid smokes a joint with his friend and the next he's out on the street, homeless with a needle in his arm.
Did I say anything about "people on GAF"?
If people viewed texting/calling the same way they viewed drinking, it would be illegal in all 50 states with similar penalties to a DUI. Does anyone get their license revoked for texting in a car? Is the ticket even more than a couple hundred dollars?
Hahaha the gangstalking one is awesome
The gang stalking thing is just really sad to me. Those people suffer from paranoid schizophrenia and need help but because of the proliferation of the internet and gang stalking communities are just feedback loops for those people. They believe they're being stalked, there are communities of people that believe the same thing so it must be true and they will not get the medication because that's what the government wants.

I can't say that most of that I don't agree with logically
it's eloquent as hell though

Wow, awesome. "I now treat half the human race as objects to be used. I'm a tough manly man now!"
Lol yeah right. It's just a hypersensitive adolescent overreaction to being hurt. That guy either learns to integrate his prior mode with a way of realistically and effectively communicating with women, or he stays in selfish manbaby mode and grows old alone.
At least white knights have redeeming characteristics. The woman hating crowd are just twits in a frustrated rage who still haven't figured out how relationship dynamics actually work.

Yeah, that's just, sad. How would they even know that those things would prevent them from getting gang stalked. Moreover, wouldn't making a video and putting it online be a "risk" for them or something. That's just ridiculous.Kinda feel bad watching these gangstalking videos.

They're obviously suffering from delusions.

This was so uncomfortable to watch.
"Ahem ahem ahem...this is all on camera buddy."
In the defense of those people when you know friends or family members who have been killed by drunk drivers to hear some people boast about it or defend it is frankly insulting.
Oh man, imagine if the other person just began playing along to fuck with the person's head.
He was still out there an hour later, dude, AN HOUR!
Never even knew gang stalking was a thing before this thread....
The Men Hating Women one was a slam dunk, might as well just cut the article right there.
militant atheists
Game Analyst believes hurting someone else's feelings is morally equivalent to murder.
The way militant and extremist gets tossed around with atheists is so fucking obnoxious. Basically another way of saying you're really butthurt.
Every week when I go to the grocery store there's an elderly man sitting on one of the motorized wheelchairs sleeping. Ever time.
My suspicion is since I go there around the same time every time that he knows someone working there and he's waiting for them or something.
Nah fuck that, he's obviously gang stalking me.
Gangstalking reads like something people would latch on to feel self-important about their existence. People around me are going about their business, so they all must be conspiring against me in some way.
The anti-vaccine movement should be on there.
Though Oprah giving Jenny McCarthy a soapbox is probably as much to blame.
Ding ding. The "Drunk Drivers Should Have Their License Revoked FOREVER THEY ARE UTTER HUMAN GARBAGE" crowd often just strikes me as basement dwellers or teetotalers who have never gone out and had fun, and are just looking for a way to harshly judge those that do.
Go to a bar. Look around. Almost all of these people are going to drive home after a couple drinks. Probably all of them will be utterly fine, causing no injury to themselves or others. I just hate the attitude that drunk driving is some activity only for the utterly irresponsible scumbags of the world, when practically everyone does it sooner or later. If you haven't done it, then chances are your mom or dad or friends have. Nobody wants to call a cab because they had a couple margaritas at the mexican place after work.
Texting or talking while driving has been show to be as dangerous or more dangerous than drinking.....yet you see none of the same indignation there, and people have pretty violently fought legislation to prevent it.

six consecutive white cars have driven down my street in the past five minutes
You're all over the place. I consider anything distracting grounds for a ticket at the least but you're actually defending the instance in which people drunk drive despite several other options available.
I don't feel like I'm defending anyone to point out that People who drink and drive are not insidious inveterate alcoholic monsters -- they're your friends, neighbors, and family. If you took away all their licenses permanently because they had wine with dinner then you'd have a shitload less people on the road.
The hard line stance I see here just does not track with reality.
People often don't like getting clumped in with the most outspoken subgroups.
The reputation of the whole can suffer due to the reputation of the few.
In this way, the snarky atheists can have a very real harmful effect.
So much so that a prestigious, world-renowned cosmologist would fear to associate himself with the word "atheist" because he doesn't wish his message of appreciate for science to be drowned out.

I think you (the general you, not the specific you) do your own cause a disservice when you deliberately hyperbolize so frequently. There are people here carrying on about funerals and death and murder in the context of a margaritas with tacos outing. When people see the obvious dissonance between the reality and the nightmarish pictures painted by the anti-DD zealots, they end up discounting their point altogether. It's the same with the anti-drug movement -- when a kid does a couple bong hits and realizes that it's not going to fry his brain or make him rape somebody, he thinks he's been fed bullshit the whole time and keeps on taking drugs anyway, ignoring that there are actually good reasons not to smoke pot.

Nope. I'm not friends with anyone who drinks, and definitely not anyone who drinks and drives. I'm fine with those who drink and drive receiving a harsh penalty. Permanent loss of license at the minimum, but I'd be comfortable with execution.I don't feel like I'm defending anyone to point out that People who drink and drive are not insidious inveterate alcoholic monsters -- they're your friends, neighbors, and family.
