5 Things I Learned as the Internet's Most Hated Person

Sigh...did you like read the conversations I've had with other members? In fact, did you even read the reply you quoted fully?

I just read your other posts and still have no idea why any sane person would give a shit.

I know a guy named Tim who kicked a dog. Do you also hate Tim, now? He is playing around with GameMaker so you should start preparing a thread on how bad a person he is in the event he releases something on his personal website.

All that threads like this are doing is feeding the fire, and I feel bad even contributing, but that's all I want to and plan on contributing to this non-sense. People need to just mind their own business.

I don't really follow this and think this whole misogynist gamer gate shit and death threats are terrible but I also think cheating on your significant other is a pretty shitty thing to do.

Do you see their inclusion of a black character as deliberately pushing a agenda, may I ask?

If that was their intent, then it's definitely a racist agenda. Goddamn I hate crysis.

Obviously not. It was a nice surprise though, since the last game with a black protagonist in my recent memory is prototype 2.

Not if his blackness was a central point of the story, then yeah it could be considered pushing an agenda.

But someone I don't know who has no bearing on my life or the world at large may have done something legal but possibly immoral.

Crysis 1 starred Nomad, who was never shown.
Crysis Warhead starred Psycho, who is a white British man.
Crysis 2 starred Alcatraz, and I cannot remember if they even show or mention his ethnicity ingame. I think his arms and hands are covered in the prologue. It's not until the game goes on near the end that it's revealed that
Prophet lives on in his mind.
Crysis 3 is the only one that explicitly stars Prophet, a black man.

Also, how is "let's make our protagonist black" a "racist agenda"?

It also kind of sounds like he's saying that a protagonist's race being relevant to the story gives the game a "racist agenda?"

It really don't understand that "enforced colorblindless" mindset.

I...think I get what you're saying, but you're not saying it very well

Crysis 3 is what I was referring to, sorry about that.

The racist agenda part was a joke, I really hate crysis (3). I wanted to ease up the tone of the discussion...guess I did a bad job at that.

and Technomancer, that's alright. We're getting into a territory that I haven't spent too much thinking about. I'd appreciate the chance to clarify what I mean.

This is exactly the type of narrow and extreme position I'm talking talking about. ''You're either with us or against us. You're not a sane person if you don't think like us and have a negative opinion about Zoe''. You just continue defending a person to the bitter end. I doubt me explaining my position any further will make any difference towards you or members like you. I'll just leave it at that.

You are assuming a lot of cohesion that doesn't exist. If there is an "us" I was not invited to join. You also don't seem to follow that this specific designer is irrelevant to a lot of people. I am not making a pro-Zoe argument when I say I don't care about personal lives of people I don't know. I would take this stance regardless of which specific person I don't know is being harassed for things that seem entirely irrelevant.

Do you care about the personal lives' of all designers?

But that is the thing! I don't care about Zoe's personal life or of all the designers. That doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about her based on what I've read and share that casually on this forum/thread. Why am I (and others with a similar opinion) (are) being treated like an extreme case? Who are you to tell me no sane person thinks like that and asking me how I feel about somebody else kicking a dog? Or that other member who tells me who cares about what I wrote? You make it sound like I'm part of this harassment campaign just because I said I don't like Zoe as a person from an outsider perspective.

I wasted more time explaining myself and sounding negative towards Zoe more than I should have. Because of this, I feel like I'm coming over as a 'hater' and I'm getting tired of this. Is there some miscommunication or are there too many emotional members on this thread? I don't feel like I sound unreasonable or having a lack of understanding with my position and I'm frankly puzzled by replies similar to yours.

Because your thoughts on her personal life are irrelevant to the discussion on if it is ok to harass her. Unless you want to say that your thoughts on her personal life are an excuse to harass her (cause yes, that would make it relevant. So by bringing it up as if it is relevant, you are in a way implying that it is an excuse. And putting in a disclaimer just tends to make it sound more like you are trying to hide that you think it is relevant).

...

I know thoughts about her personal life are ultimately irrelevant to the discussion. I already mentioned this on my first reply on this thread.

No, I don't think her being harassed is okay and people having an opinion about her shouldn't be used as an excuse to harass her.

...

I thought that was already clear in regards to me?
