- Mitchell, David (2001), number9dream - ★★★½
- Murakami, Haruki (2006), Kafka on the Shore - ★★★½
- Mitchell, David (2004), Cloud Atlas - ★★★★ - Personally I feel that the movie is a great companion-piece to the book. They're very different beings and the fact that they're two ways of looking at the same things expressed in ways impossible to express in the other's medium makes it that much more worth while. A great read, a great movie and it doesn't matter in what order you experience them.
- Woolf, Virginia (1929), A Room of One's Own - ★★★★★ - Why do men hate women? Here we have an essay written almost 100 years ago and it's just as current. I don't get the hate but I'm guessing that the principle "You know you're wrong when you have to lie to prove your point" applies to the mentality of demonsing women.
- King, Stephen (2006), On Writing - ★★★★½ - A really good expose on what makes a writer; or rather, what makes a good "of-any-kind". Stephen King manages to make himself ordinary and very human with an honesty that's heartwarming and at the same time a very harsh guiding hand.
- Hymowitz, Kay S. (2011) Manning Up: How the Rise of Women Has Turned Men into Boys - ★★★½ - I find it odd that I'm more and more on the way to becoming the alpha male that feminism both adore and hate--and it's working out pretty well for me. I do get what the book is saying and it hit a bit too close to comfort a couple of times. It's did however call 'Bottle Rocket' a frat-movie because it stared Owen Wilson and grouped it with Adam Sandler-movies.

- Outlander (2008, dir. Howard McCain) - ★★★
- The Box (2009, dir. Richard Kelly) - ★★½
- Fish Tank (2009, dir. Andrea Arnold) - ★★★½ - There's been alot of good indie movies coming out of the UK these recent year, my favorite being Attack the Block. This one hits all the right notes and is honest about its subject. Fassbender is awesome.
- The Conspirator (2010, dir. Robert Redford) - ★★★ - To be honest I'd rather just see Lincoln. This was entertaining but a bit stale. It played out like a well-made made-for-teevee movie but with some good Hollywood talent.
- Youth in Revolt (2009, dir. Miguel Arteta) - ★★½ - Nothing special. Just a rather unlikeable Cera playing Cera. Really nothing special about this movie.
- The Flowers of War (2011, dir. Yimou Zhang) - ★★★½ - Christian Bale returns to China. A very chinese movie by any standard. It's visually appealing and has some very creative cinematography while downplaying the story. Always engaging but never that deep.
- Eden Lake (2008, dir. James Watkins) - ★★ - There's nothing wrong with showing that people are savages and there's nothing wrong with presenting that with the bleakness of apathy. What is wrong is expecting to enjoy 1½ hours of torture. I can't really dig this movie but I'm sure some will. It's put together well enough but that doesn't mean I'll enjoy it.
- Iron Man Three (2013, dir. Shane Black) - ★★★★ - Please keep Black directing these movies. It's awesome. It's the most fun Iron Man-movie of the bunch and it's fantasticly put together. This marks the first time that a child actor has been one of the high-lights of the movie. I love the kid. Every scene is golden. Almost everything is good.
- The Expendables 2 (2012, dir. Simon West) - ★★ - It isn't bad. It's just a mess. An uninspired mess with too many quips. Still managed to fall asleep watching it, like I did the first one. This one is better but only in the sense I actually bothered finishing it the morning after.
- Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013, dir. J.J. Abrahms) - ★★★½ - It's a great way to tie back into the continuety of the old movies. I'd love to see more of these movies. The foreshadowing is a bit of a thing with this movie "the few and many" but it's nice how they manage to tie Carol Marcus into the legacy-timeline.
- Indie Game: The Movie (2012, dir. Lisanne Pajot, James Swirsky) - ★★ - A bunch of unattractive guys talking to a camera for almost 2 hours. Fell asleep twice and nodded off a couple of times. It's not about anything really. It makes a few points but it's really drawn out and not really worth it.

TV
- True Blood (Season 5, 2012) - ★★½
- Game of Thrones (Season 2, 2012) - ★★★★
- House of Cards (Season 1, 2013) - ★★★★½
- Boardwalk Empire (Season 2011) - ★★★½
- Banshee (Season 1, 2013) - ★★½
- Star Trek (Season 1, 1966-67) - ★★★★★
- Hemlock Grove (Season 1, 2013) - ★★★½
- Spartacus: Blood and Sand (Season 1, 2010) - ★★★½ - "It gets better" is about right for the first season. Then Andy Whitfield died. A really strong first season. One part Gladiator, one part God of War and one part 300. It can't really be faulted for anything other than being a bit sparse in the settings.
- Girls (Season 1, 2012) - ★★★½ - It's nice to see a tv-show about women (or girls, in this case). More often than not comedy shows portray women as flawless beings that magically turn off their quirks when they meet the right guy. Here's it just four losers living loser lives and having fun doing it. Refreshing but without a real momentum.
- The Walking Dead (Season 2, 2011-12) - ★★★★ - Better than the first season. Better momentum. Playing the videogame between the two seasons really helped the world building. I'm invested into this. A detour then back to the third season.

- Tandem Sky - Tandem Sky (2013, Spotify) - ★★★★½ - Great debut album with some really good songs. Hurricane and D.O.M.A. stand out as the truely great songs. I'm keeping an eye on them.
- Rob Zombie - Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor (2013, Spotify) - ★★★½ - As far as Zombie this is a solid album. Never really that creative but being the showman he is I'm looking forward to seeing it live.
- The Knife - Shaking the Habitual (2013, Spotify) - ★★★½ - Their greats are great but there's just so much fillers. They'll never reach again their peak (Silent Shout) if they keep this up.
- Wire - Change Becomes Us (2013, Spotify) - ★★★★ - Solid album all around and makes for some great listening.
- Bonobo - The North Borders (2013, Spotify) - ★★★ - Not at the Black Sands heights and I'm not really in awe as I was back then. But some nice beats regardless.
