Just finished listening to it, yeah, this is definitely not the type of remixes i like. Just not for me.

Even as a person who owns a copy of the original vinyl pressing, I'm very glad to see Carpenter Brut's Trilogy is still readily available on Amazon.

Yeah, after having listened to it I'm sad to say it's not my type of music. I didn't expect the remixes to stray so far from their synthwave roots. Oh well.

Great to hear the finished track. Was on the live set and Ollie was saying the lyrics were in progress.

Edit: listening to Scandroid's album again, Datastream is such an amazing track. Heavy. Latest from Kalax is something I've been listening more to lately, fantastic.

I really liked the first new Perturbator song, can't say I dig the newest too much. Maybe I'll appreciate it more in the context of the album

I get why he's distancing himself from the pure 80's stuff. There's only so much you can do with the sound there's so many people doing the same thing. New song just didn't click with me that much

I think it's mostly the vocals I don't care for

Hmmm, yeah, honestly not sure about those vocals on Perturbator's new track. The track itself sound good, might just need a few more listens. Sentient immediately grabbed me though. Such a good song.

'New Model isn't just the title of Perturbator's new surprise EP, it doubles as the Parisian musician's reckoning with "synthwave," the retro-futurist style inspired by John Carpenter and Vangelis that he helped to pioneer. James Kent, whose music has evolved from sharp-edged synth raves to impressively dense electronic composition, has entered the next phase of Perturbator.

"New Model continues Perturbator's legacy of exploring the future," Kent writes in a press release, "but this future is one based in our own eerie reality and not the retro-futuristic fantasy explored on I Am the Night, Dangerous Days or The Uncanny Valley."

The hover events are a bit over the top and the product images could use more whitespace between them, but I do agree it's an improvement. I did manage to break the layout a couple of times while testing it out – professional habit.

On topic, though, I recall that Tommy '86's Transhumanism is getting a vinyl release as well later this year.

Got my ticket for Perturbator in September, then Goblin and Dance With The Dead in November, super-psyched. Don't know if it's going to beat seeing John Carpenter and Fabio Frizzi last year, but it'll be a good time.

Was not the biggest fan of Vantablack but it might grow on me. If more songs are like Tactical Precision Disarray then it'll be his best shit yet.

Walking home with my feet aching from dancing at Daniel Deluxe + Dance With The Dead + Danger show. Brilliant show from all of them despite not really being a fan of DWTD. Got a chance to buy Danger's and DD's albums and get them to sign them. Both seemed genuinely nice and humble guys from the short chit-chat we had. Will post pics of the records after I get some sleep.


And naturally huge thanks to Noisepurge and co. for organizing these shows. You guys give me a venue where I can dance my heart out.
