Did they do a reprint? I don't have any way to listen to it, but I would love to have one of these.
Great thread here. I've listened to a lot of stuff recommended in this thread--Near Dark, Dangerous Days, The Construct, Saturdaze to name a few. What has really stood out to me is Timecop1983's Journeys. I totally love the more chill type that the album provides. This all started with Drive so think Nightcall, etc. Mainly I'm looking for catchy synth music to drive to at night. I like dreampop stuff too like Tulips by The Bilinda Butchers. I like vocals as long as they're good.
Any recommendations? Don't be afraid to recommend something that's already popped up in this thread; I may have missed it.

The poster above you mentioned Sellorekt/LA Dreams. That might be the kind of music you're looking for! I recommend starting out with this compilation album to see if it's to your liking: http://ladreams.bandcamp.com/album/best-of-sellorekt-la-dreams-2013-2014
Plaisance is also very good. The albums Thunder In Paradise and Havasu are my favourites. The balance between laid-back songs versus uptempo songs is perfect, and the tropical vibe is quite soothing.
Miami Nights 1984 is a great source for upbeat, nostalgic tunes.
Mitch Murder has a large selection of great music. The album Glass Cities features nice mellow songs, so you might want to check that one out first.

Thanks for the suggestions. Anything more vocal? Sometimes I'm more in the mood for lyrics, even if they're simple.
Maybe this might work?
Trevor Something- Summer Love
If that works, there's another track of his called "Miami Nights" in the same ballpark.
Good suggestion, currently downloading Trevor Something Does Not Exist
Watched The Guest last night. Soundtrack lived up to the hype. Wasn't a perfect movie, but I enjoyed it all the way through to the credits.
Did you already get the Drive soundtrack and Kavinsky's album Outrun that has Nightcall on it?Thanks for the suggestions. Anything more vocal? Sometimes I'm more in the mood for lyrics, even if they're simple.

Le Cassettes album is a masterpiece in my opinion. Seriously, if that had actually been released in the 80's I'm convinced those guys would be very rich right now.

So I'm checking out Sellorekt/LA Dreams.....and they've made 22 albums in the last three years? WTF?
I'm listening to the latest "Casual" release that was recommended in here, and it's quite good. But I'm not going through 21 other albums. What are the other essentials?
EDIT: I'll just start with the two compilation albums for now.
I'm not really a fan of dark, future sounding synth-tracks like these or a lot of the stuff Dance with the Dead puts out, but the second track, Paradise Warfare, is very different from the rest of the album and amazing.
That new Carpenter Brut stuff is fantastic. I think Paradise Warfare is my favourite track after the first few listens
I can't be the only one listening to this one, am I? This album will not stop blowing my mind.

"Disk of Dust is a manifestation of all my favorite science fiction films, books, & soundtracks. Vangelis scores the dark and moody futurescapes, while M83 inspires dreamy nostalgia & wonder of what used to be. The Foundation, Asimov, hard sci-fi - I envision this sort of literature would be accompanied by hot & cold stabs, warm synthscapes, & long draws. No sound in space, but space in sound.
This album tells the story of a human from another planet who visits our own pale blue dot. What would it be like if you left a planet you no longer loved only to find a planet exactly like the one you left? Would you keep searching? Or would you call this your new home?"
This is... interesting. I can't believe there are 4 of them loloh, and get in on this hilarious spoof of the whole genre

Keats releases probably don't usually fit in here, but I think this one does.
Oh nice, then yeah check out all of their recent stuff. They still put out quality. And there's like four samplers out now filled with great tracks.I listened to their Volume 1 sampler a long time ago and really liked it. If they still put out stuff like that they definitely belong in this thread. This tune in particular.
Retro Promenade Presents: The Next Peak
A Retro Synth Tribute to the Twin Peaks Soundtrack

With love and care, these artists recreated some of the most iconic themes in television history
John Carpenter's album is out in the wild. It's pretty cool. Combines more aggressive stuff similar to what's posted in here with slower songs reminiscent of his film scores.
