OK Seattle Gaf!

Who wants to see Dance With The Dead at Highline tomorrow?

My buddy has an extra ticket and I can't make it.

21 and over show at 9!

Need some help finding a song that I think I heard on spotify a while ago but may have also dreamt. I think it sounded like Mitch Murder - Frantic Aerobics but with these upbeat, female vocals.

I'm pretty sure it's not on either of the HM soundtracks, but I would've heard it from some HM related playlist. Any idea what it could be? I've had this one part that I can only half remember stuck in my head for days now and need to listen to it.

Not sure, but this is a good track. Very 80s upbeat vocals. Makes you wonder how this wasn't recorded back then.

This comes awfully close to your description. Maybe another song by them if not? They have some of the most upbeat female vocals I find.

Haha yeah I thought my description might cover a lot of ground. That vocals sounds quite a bit like the one (especially the 'ooooooo' bits, the music is similar but with no sax and more of a poppy melody. Probably not the best description, but still thanks for looking anyway.

Look for anything by Kristine or Dana Jean Phoenix.

New Mega Drive is live!

Listening now!!!

I like all of the tracks, some standouts to me :

Biohacker

Run The Code

Junkhead

Some of the tracks are very familiar to what you expect from Mega Drive, fast, thumping, great sound, then some other tracks are a bit different, overall a good mix, the last track #11, In Dreams is super long and the most different but everything else is solid.
Great Album.

The new Trevor Something album is... odd, to say the least. It more or less fully embraces the lo-fi 70s funk meets punk sound that that the lead single Suicide suggested, with very little in the way of the polish he's had on his previous albums, and I feel like a major stumbling block for a lot of people will be the fact that the way the album is mixed makes his singing borderline incomprehensible on every track, with some tracks being worse than others in that regard. I'm not even sure it qualifies as an album for this thread, since there's very, very, very little on the album that ties it to anything he's done before. I don't think it's bad, but anyone expecting another album in the same vein as Trevor Something Does Not Exist or Death Dream are going to be waiting longer now.

I mean NFO is awesome, but was suprised to see this here and not the metal thread, since they're more a love letter to 70's rock/prog rock. I'll be listening to this today to see if there's a heavier synth aspect. That said, Gemini is an awesome track.

Fantastic album. I loved his previous album, 198XAD, but it wasn't very consistent. Half the songs were absolutely top-notch, while the other half was pretty mediocre.

Seas Of Infinity however is consistent all the way through, and it keeps things interesting by changing between the HYPE songs, the reserved-yet-still-badass songs, and some songs that are a little different (the 90s-inspired "Junkhead" and the dreamy "In Dreams").

I think Mega Drive might be my favorite Synthwave artists these days because of the Industrial edge in his music. It makes him slightly more fresh and more badass than some of the other big Synthwave artists.

There's a bunch of shows coming up in the next few months in San Francisco.

June 2 is a showing of Turbo Kid with Le Matos performing afterwards.
July 14th is The Midnight and FM-84
and Sept 13th is Perturbator.

It's good to see these sorts of events happening close to me.
I've been getting envious of all the good shows I see happening in Europe or the East Coast.

Damn, Let Matos, The Midnight, FM-84 AND Perturbator? Super jealous of whoever gets to attend.

Should I twist the knife and mention that Carpenter Brut, Gost, Perturbator, and John Carpenter, among others, have all played in the San Francisco area in the last year?

I'm definitely thankful that promoters are able to bring acts like these to my area.

It's a shame that there are the same caliber chiptune events in the San Francisco area.

The bay area got lucky with the headling Brut show since it was announced like 2 weeks before( and I think it was their first one in NA) it was also a great one as well.
