Yeah, it's pretty amusing. But I think if it got shown here in the US certain religious groups would complain.

In real life, that entire place would have been leveled. No commercial car could withstand a typical suicide bomber explosion. The commercial is making light of something that is meant to be taken seriously.

Just because it's a commercial doesn't automatically make it immune to distastefulness. Granted, it's a clever, interesting commercial, but there's a lot of inapt wit, too.

Actually, it is airing in the states on news reports. It's fake and VW is super pissed about it, so it's getting a ton of airplay in the US as people report on it.

It's like the Bud Light Superbowl ad that was pulled. It's getting more airtime in the US than it would've if it stayed in the Superbowl broadcast because the news keeps showing it when they report on it being pulled.

I mean following this sort of humor, maybe someone should make a commercial where a guy tries to rape a girl but can't tear her clothes off because they are so tough! haha! that's a funny idea, right?

VW isn't pissed about it at all. It's a viral campaign. There is no such thing as negative publicity, especially to a company whose primary focus is on television--especially given the fact that ad agencies are chopping their television divisions all over the planet because of the decline in television related consumer product sales...To be honest, the work was probably commissioned.

Let me just qualify, this isn't just my opinion...one of my professors was a lead creative for ilovebees...

It's a funny concept, but a highly offensive ad to anyone who has even the slightest knowledge and/or care about the problem it makes light of.
