I guarantee you Tim Schaefer did not sell his company so he could make sequels forever. Double Fine is probably working on something cool, but it's like a new IP, like 95% of their output. An expansion on a game so old I forget where I played it? How about a sequel so I can figure out how to play it again with the typical intro stuff.
The problem mostly comes to "how many copies will it sell?"
If the original game didn't sell as much - and the software-buying population has decreased since then - how many copies would a remaster sell?
Their very old games were good and will sell a lot as remasters (Halo 1-2-3, Gears 1-2-3, Fallout New Vegas etc.) but they are so old, a simple remaster wouldn't work. They will need a thorough remake, which ups the cost and requires higher sales. Their newer games have mostly been awful, so remastering them doesn't make much sense financially.
Sony remasters games because their original sold 15-20+ million copies (Horizon, TLOU, Spider-Man, etc.). So the remaster has a chance of selling 1-2 million copies and be very profitable.
olbivion remake based on the rumors
It's Gta6 with exclusive dlc n market rights
Forza on PlayStation, book it!
"We're happy to announce that we fully funded the developpment of Bloodborne II.Bloodborne 2!
It seems to me that Xbox wants to buyout Steam at any cost so that they can totally takeover PC gaming.
Business model. It's like Samsung copying apple.
Nah. Microsoft is putting every game I don't want on PS, but keeping the few I'd actually like - Forza Horizon, Ori, Lost Odyssey.
Still doesnt fall into the new unannounced categoryMaybe Rare have finally figured out what to do with Everwild.
True but they have to "reannounce" it at some point anyway.Still doesnt fall into the new unannounced category
So this studio has been having a free lunch and producing nothing for god knows how many years?I believe they outsourced it to crystal dynamics and then CD got bought by Tencent and told to prioritize Tomb Raider. But we saw Perfect Dark gameplay. So I guess CD can do both.
