Aaron Greenberg: Temper your expectations

He's in marketing, he would sell his off own family if it benefits the company. He's either thoroughly incompetent or the show must be extraordinarily shitty this year.

Persona 4 Remake showing up but not Silksong will be hilarious

A guy like this should get fired by doing that bad of a PR job for his own company. The minimum he could have said is nothing at all, or at least, for people tune in and watch for themselves with an winking emoji face. What a mess.

Persona 4 Remake would probably guarantee that I see the show as being good.

I think he's trying to surprise ppl with a strong showcase.
Even if you said Persona 6 instead, I wouldn't really agree. But this is crazy.

We're in really dire straits if a P4 Remake is the key to a winning presentation.

Maybe this is a hot take, but companies absolutely SHOULD properly set expectations. Shoveling shit and trying to convince your consumers its chocolate is a great way to lose trust with your target audience.

It's a major problem Sony has had with its announcement cadence. It's state plays have been really weak because they announce smaller announcements throughout the year, which had they waited just a handful of months for an event, they not only would have been better received, but the overall show and subsequent shows would be better received.

The last Sony State of Play was probably the best they've ever done, but it didn't have any major first party games. Why didn't they have any major first party games? Can only be two reasons. Either they blew their load early on games like Saros, IG, and Ghost of Yotei and/or most likely is that their 2026 games are too far from release to fit their strategy.

It's not first party, but the absence of Lost Soul Aside is a major red flag. The game is coming out in AUGUST.., July is going to have a state of play dedicated to Ghost of Yotei that is coming out in October... The only feasible reason for LSA to be skipped is that it's not looking great, which falls into why it was delayed. A game they're asking 60 bucks for yet they apparently have negative faith in...

Your entire marketing strategy has to be sound. Even through rough patches and average games. Imagine how much worse than Rise of the Ronin Lost Soul Aside must be that Sony doesn't even want to advertise it...

Disagree. Its just that the the competition isn't doing great presentations either(if you disconsider Nintendo though). Its just doing less worse imo.
And this not to say there weren't great ones on Xbox though, I can give them that. I don't remember the last time I ever found State of Play "good", perhaps the one where they revealed Ronin and Stellar Blade but thats about it.
Sorry but this is ridiculous. The last e3 Xbox showcase was insanely good. People don't want to give Xbox credit when credit is due. Sad

If a show has 2-3+ games that I want to play, I'd generally consider it a success. I think somehow people have gotten the idea that EVERY game, especially the headliner needs to be a game targeted towards them or the show is bad.

Persona 4 checks a BIG box for me and others, especially those of us who got into Persona with P5/P5R. That's like 50% towards a successful show in my book.

I give credit when is due though, its just this Xbox victimhood cuckhold won't work on me I'm afraid. I don't play sides in terms of presentations, otherwise I wouldn't say State of Play sucks except the one where they revealed Eve and Ronin. SoP still by far the worst of the bunch.

It's odd, Aaron is saying temper expectations, Phil is saying there's gonna be surprises.

Maybe they finally left that idiot Greenberg out of the loop since no matter how good of an oportunity he has whenever he opens his fat mouth it seems to do more damage to the company. On the other hand it's not like Phil isn't known to lie so who knows...

I personally enjoyed both State of Play and SGF so I'm hoping for a 3 for 3 from Xbox on sunday. Expectations tempered but hoping for a good, well paced presentation with great trailers.

Of course. We default to Xbox victimhood whenever anyone praises them. Jfc 😂 god forbid anyone praising anything Xbox related on this forum!

That's bullshit. Fact is the vast majority of folks loved last year's show as the "rate the Xbox showcase" proved. That doesn't mean everyone has to. Plenty of folks loved Sony's SoP. I didn't and I said as much. I didn't get whining responses like yours crying about folks picking on Sony though. Thank God. And yes, you are playing the victim here, but then you play the victim about being called a victim. Gotdang victimization inception.

Satya posted this. Either to add hype or to remind Phil to stay quiet.

A Microsoft executive is going to look silly after Sunday. That much is certain. Hopefully it is Greenberg. Making fun of that guy never gets old

I don't think it's anything big, their big stuff always leak and there has been nothing this year. It's probably just them pulling some social media strings to get people to not completely ignore their show.

Fable has been delayed as we all know, and we don't have a new concrete release date but I would hope it's early 2026, mid 2026 at the latest. So unless that's not the case we should see it.

Maybe Phil Spencer didn't tell Aaron Greenberg everything that was coming in the show on purpose.

New halo cross platform on day1? Same with Gears?
Xbox gonna be the best first party dev on ps5 lmao
Most definitely. And they'll play/look better on the Pro.
Would be beyond stupid to first kill the platform and then do timed exclusivity. That ship has sailed. Day 1 on Gamepass is their only existing hype card now.
$80 on PS5 and Steam.
Day 1 on Gamepass on Xbox and "Xbox PC".

Lol nah they all know everything, likely the usual Xbox influencers as well.

I expect lots of games, lots of indies, some more late PS5 ports, some strategic talks about their multiplat strategy, and everything upcoming with release dates released the same day everywhere, and lots of "Day 1 on Gamepass".
