Aaron Greenberg: Temper your expectations

I think the only (rumored) announcement I care about is the Persona 4 Remake. As long as that happens, it will be a successful Xbox presentation for me.

My man Arron always delivering.

MS has Ninja Gaiden 4, so I'll give them a chance. Their only other game I care about is OD, but I don't know if it will be there.

Everything i saw about Perfect Dark looked meh to mediocre, but i still want to see an in depth gameplay, and hope for the best. I wanted a sequel for sooooo long, it's ridiculous.

The last Sony State of Play was probably the best they've ever done, but it didn't have any major first party games. Why didn't they have any major first party games? Can only be two reasons. Either they blew their load early on games like Saros, IG, and Ghost of Yotei and/or most likely is that their 2026 games are too far from release to fit their strategy.
Marvel Tōkon was WAY bigger than Saros, come on now Mibu.

Why does it feel like E-Day and Perfect Dark are years away still? Someone slap me.
Nah, I'm completely with you. These are the two I'm looking forward to the most, and I wouldn't be surprised if neither made an appearance. The perfect dark segments looked highly scripted on the last go around, and there were whispers at the time by industry insiders that the game was in rough shape.
Gears trailer was completely pre-rendered and neither title gave as much as a launch year.

I was feeling a little optimistic about Xbox's showcase with the absolute garbage showing of SGF. Like, maybe Xbox grabbed up all the good 3rd party showings...

My expectations are now more in line with what SGF turned out to be. Hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

I seriously doubt Sony really cares about that. This is a major first-party game as far as Sony is concerned:

I never said Saros was bigger than Tokon.

Nor did I say this from Sony's perspective, but rather the audience who is looking for Sony's first part games, of which this was entirely absent of.

That's just a fact and it's troubling.

They should have a good showcase in the future based on their supposed 2026 games roster alone.

Tokon - Q1
Wolverine - Q3
Saros - Q3
Intergalactic? - Q4

Plus anything from Santa Monica and Guerrilla at least to show... Maybe show Venom.

We should also be see Media Molecule's game soon.

But the marketing question is how they arrange that. And my point is that drip feed is not good for vibes and that vibes do matter.

The moment you start talking about Sony's strategic decision as for what to show is the moment you start talking from their perspective. You can't ask 'why didn't they reveal more 2026 games?' when they, in fact, did. It's an inherently flawed question.
And it's hardly troubling when people should already know to expect a major/relevant first-party reveal at the end of each SoP, for well over a year at this point. You're not into FGs? 100% on you. Not that it makes Fighting Souls less of a first-party game, especially not after PlayStation fans spent the last gen creaming themselves over Spider-Man 2018, which was exactly the same deal.

Maybe Phil Spencer didn't tell Aaron Greenberg everything that was coming in the show on purpose.
Eh, it's the old playbook.

One executive hyping the show so more people tune in. The other executive tempering expectations.

So when more people tune in and get disappointed, they and their shills can say they "told you to temper expectations." This is how Microsoft has always operated as a company. They always cover both bases.

So it boils down to, straw man argument...

See that. Poor little victimhood complex.

Grow thicker skin, bby boi. It's just games and inanimate objects from mega corps.

Plenty of folks loved Sony's SoP. I didn't and I said as much. I didn't get whining responses like yours crying about folks picking on Sony though. Thank God.

Yes, I'm sure. That wasn't a response to me which is what I said.

It must be nice to have such an iron clad safe job. Any other companies would have fired Phil or Green berg eons ago. Unlimited failures up to this point while other people pay the price.

Has there ever been a marketing or PR guy this incompetent in gaming?

Even if you have shit, it's your job to make it look like ice cream.
Yall never happy with this guy. That why. He hype up shit before and yall blasting him for trying to make it look like ice cream. Now he waits after the show and then he hype it

Yeah, Sony and SonyDerps never gets bashed here or laughed at or get banned. Or any company, dev, or fanbase for that matter.

Goodness some of you victimhood goofies are retarded when it comes to this shit.

That being said he does look "odd". Everybody kept saying he looked like a cancer patient is one of the threads from like last year and while that was definitely an exaggeration he does look really skinny. Hopefully it's for good reasons but he also does look very tired. I give the man shit but I hope he's doing okay.
Can't find it now but he got asked about it in an interview. He has been changing his diet and has lost weight, was doing it to keep his health in check. If you look back he gained weight around the ABK trial, could be that he found out there was risk of diabetes, but that's just me guessing. He actually used to be a bit bulky a couple years back so what you see is a drop of weight without the previous muscle mass, when that happens too fast people usually think you're sick.

I actually don't expect any major new announcements, I am more than happy with a Fable Clockwork and E-Day gameplay and 2026 release of them

Think you're right as he got skinny fairly quickly and has that certain vibe ive seen others had doing it. I doubt he is crazy like me when it come to my own fitness when I went at it hard losing 2kg a week exercising every day to get my body all super fit as it is maintaining like I am now.

Fair props to him wanting to stay fit but I wouldn't touch that stuff personally. All hard effort and will any day.

My expectations are pretty eager praying to see Splinter Cell. Please let it be good.

I wanna see more fable. Contraband??

There's a few titles they have in development that surely should be ready for some more of a deeper dive.

If I dont see more fable. We riot
