Should just merge this and figure-gaf together. There's like nothing distinguishing it anymore.

Feels like a lot of work skimming two threads.

The IT at my university seemed to noticed a big difference when he said "so you guys look at porn model kits instead of real porn with real women?". I think most have agreed figure Gaf is hardcore anime bishoujo.

And that's not a knock on them, but I just think many see a HUGE difference.

As someone who has no interest in anime style statues, and has no problem straight up saying that the other thread makes me kind of uncomfortable, I disagree. This thread only contains things that I have interest in, whereas that thread seems to be a mishmash of action figures and anime statues. Separating the two has actually gotten me to keep coming back to this thread, because I don't have to scroll through post after post of figures I'm not interested in just to get to the three or four posts of Marvel stuff. Honestly I feel like the Hot Toys presence here is a bit much, I don't consider them action figures, but their subject matter tends to lean toward my interests so I don't mind them.

When it comes down to it, this thread should be a place for action figures and people who collect them, and figure gaf should be a place for high end and japanese statues and figures and the people who collect them. If you have both, great! Use both threads, why complain about having two gigantic places to talk about two of your different interests?

On Topic: I went on an adventure last night, K-Mart, Target, and Wal-Mart. For some reason ToysRus closes at 7 on Sunday :( I came out empty handed at all three, the stock was awful at all three, with Wal-Mart having exactly 0 Marvel or Star Wars Black Series figures. I was down about it, and decided to shoot north a little bit on my way home and hit a second, less shopped Wal-Mart. I found one of these:

Which I was looking at on Amazon earlier that day, and it seemed they were running around 30 bucks on there, so I paid retail at Wal Mart which was cool! My Boba Fett should be in today, and Target recently price cut the speeder bike set to 24.99. I have a 10% off coupon and a red card so that'll be even cheaper! I might pick that up Friday. And the journey down the Star Wars Rabbit Hole has begun

Once I get a day off from class and work I plan on setting up my Detlof case, and taking some pictures of my little collection so far. I really think it's coming together nicely

Hot Toys are articulated figures, why shouldn't they be here? You can pose them and they do all the things the cheaper figures do.

I was going to create an Hot Toys OT but Not the Droid you're looking for had already created this thread.

I don't have a personal problem with it, I just don't fit them into this category, they're 1/6 scale and are more comparable to dolls. I plan on buying a few eventually, I love the detail and stuff, but when I think of action figures I think about 6 inch and under toys that you can just pop out and buy while dicking around at a store. However, I do agree having a third figure thread would definitely be overkill. It's just an opinion, and not one I feel super strongly about since I really like looking at them.

haha when I say dolls I mean they have real clothing/hairt/etc. and are gigantic, I consider my play arts snake a doll just because of his shear size. My definition of action figures is sort of my own, and based on what I think of when I think of when I think about action figures. But feel free to keep posting pictures of Hot Toys, I love em.

Yeah it's a shame a lot of people missed out on the re-issues =(, those probably sold out even faster cause they were reissuing a now defunct brand "D-Arts" as well so doubt they made too many in the first place.

My problem is a combination of space and occupants. I think I've got room for some nice collectibles but I also have a toddler and I'm not taking chances with hundreds of dollars of Hot Toy caliber stuff until she's a little older and less destructive.

*siiiiigh* my wishlist grew a bit thanks to won fes.XD And that not including Snow Miku 2015 either that I have ordered. Thankfully least half of that list won't be around till next year at the earliest anyway. I really glad that I sticking to these type of figures lol.

Do you unbox your Hot toy figures? I received my 1/6 Elder Predator and can't decide if it's best to keep it boxed or open it. This is my first Hot toy, is the quality as good as Sideshow figures? Sorry for the newb questions?

Quality is better than Sideshow 1/6 figures if you ask me, and definitely open it to appreciate in in all of its glory.

Let it breathe! I have 5 Hot Toy Predators and Elder is my favorite. The detail in him is amazing

I have two hot toys Harley Quinn and Cobra Commander.
For some reason can't get the picture to work posting from my phone. If anyone wants to see them, I'll post them later.

Edit: They are Sideshow sixth scale figures, not hot toys.

In addition to looking amazing once you take them out, Hot Toys are an incredible item because they hold their value or rise in value even if they're not sealed.

Got my BD T1 Terminator last week. Looking forward to old Arnold to add to the bunch along with my DX10 and DX13.

Anime figures may have buried it in recent times but I don't think it should be thaaaat representative of it. :(
