Activision announce Destiny House of Wolves DLC to drop on May 19th

That hostility, there is one wing left in the rocketyard and another area in Venus.

Exploring a brand new area on a map is not reusing assets.

The first mission of the Dark Below was reusing assets. You literally only traveled through areas that could be played through on launch day.

King's Watch is not a currently accessible area.
The Terminus is not a currently accessible area.

If someone asks a question, and you don't know the answer. Don't feed them bad information. it just perpetuates ignorance and stupidity.

Is Destiny the game with the biggest community on GAF? Saw that it's on its 19th OT since september, that's insane.

it's become a small dedicated group of Gaffers who still play or talk about the game now. sometimes we talk about other stuff in there.

Only the first mission was using reusset assets, did we played the same content?

I wont bother with you and your agression.

I hope the Reef Hub will make it to the DLC

The story 'not being set' doesn't surprise me. I expect nothing in that regard. Just give me a glitchless & fun raid and engaging strikes.

May 19th is too late though. Witcher 3 will win out that battle for me personally.

Also, why wait this long with announcing it when everyone already knew this from the leak months ago?

You should be more bummed about the lack of content for the price. Then again his is Activision after all and they charge $4.99 for a single cod map.

20 dollars gets you a raid, three multiplayer maps, 1-2 strikes and 3+ missions. This is also to say nothing of the item/content update made available to everyone for free.

As someone who enjoys all the different game modes, it seems fine to me, especially compared to what you get from DLC packs in Battlefield, Call of Duty and Borderlands. I imagine its rough if you want things a la cart, or strictly want a focused single player experience.

Well if we both played the dark below:

We both played

Mission 1 that reused the "The Blast" and "The Grottos" zone.

Mission 2 that gave us the new area "The Seraphim Vault"

Mission 3 that gave us the new area "Chamber of Night"

The Will of Crota strike gave us the new area "The Jovian Complex"

If you played on the PS4, The Undying mind strike gaves the new area in the Black Garden.

The Raid of the Dark Below takes place in what seems to be a totally undiscovered alternate dimension.

So you tell me, did we play the same content?

Nice. been waiting for this to drop to get back in. Really only for the raid for my group. Witcher 3 though Bungie...

I mean kor you're saying "new area" but all these places including some of the new house of wolves missions has already been on disc since launch

Kor I hear you, but TDB re-used too many existing patrol and story mission areas. Giving us one new smallish area at the end of a new mission that starts out by re-using a lot of existing areas is not enough IMO. I want whole new areas for the entire mission or strike, not just at the end.

Whether or not the geometry was there, it wasn't part of the base game, and wasn't accessible to players outside of glitching/breaking the game.

Thus, it isn't reusing assets, because the assets haven't even been used yet.

WoW had the entire geometry for Outland 6 months before the Burning Crusade came out. Does that mean the Burning crusade was all reused assets?

I just don't like people spreading misinformation.

Someone asked what assets were being reused. Then someone responded "Earth and Venus" as if that was an actual valid response. As if it wasn't an attempt to circle jerk about how much someone doesn't like the game.

I don't mind pointing out and discussing Destiny's shortcomings. I just hate it when people spread misinformation because they love the idea of more people hating the game.

not necessarily but I think it does mean players deserve more bang for their buck.

Trailer still not up...
40 minutes

Urg I want a reason to play more destiny, but sadly this is right around Witcher 3. My time with Destiny might be over.

At least there's a date for me to play this dAmn game again. I dropped after beating hard mode crota and the drops from the weeklies were pretty weak

I'm excited to see how Activision plans on stretching the definition of "expansion pack" this time around.

Its such a gross use of the word, and devalues it for everyone else going forward. It genuinely irks me.

The worst part is they already have an actual expansion planned, so what are they going to call it? A "mega expansion"? Hopefully none of the marketers at Activision see this and get any ideas.

The leak was spot on then.

Expansion pack, contains expansion 3 and 4 for $39.99

But The Witcher 3 drops May 19. . guys, no. . don't do this. I don't know what to do.

But seriously, I'll probably grind some Destiny in the morning, hop on the Witcher 3 for afternoon/evening, then back to Destiny at night--the raid won't be released right away I bet so no rush.

How much i actually play HoW depends on how timely Amazon is with my Witcher 3 CE,the raids are the only thing that makes this game.IMO

My 2 month Destiny cleanse has been good.

Ready for some new content now and RNG to continue fucking me over while rewarding my friends haha

Really wanted to stick with destiny but lack of content and updates killed it for me. The rediculous amount of content for the firstl expansion sealed its fate. This would need a huge amount more of content to consider jumping back in.

Plus same date as Witcher 3 makes it hard to go back. Excited to see what the new raid offers though.

Wait for the Holiday season. Chances are they'll have the Comet + DLC 1 and 2 as a package. Which should be comparable to the amount of content we got in the base game, if not more, really. Probably less missions, but more strikes, raids, and pvp maps.

I didn't care for the amount of content in The Dark Below, but damned if it didn't get me playing the game again for weeks.

I'm on board for House of Wolves. I hit 32 doing Crota and stopped, so I'm ready to pick up again.

Sometimes.... Huehuehue

Man I miss raiding but after not rolling the vex for so long and getting all the other exotics it's hard to get motivated to play :/

If it's like the first "expansion" then it really shouldn't be called an expansion. It's an add-on pack at best. But hopefully it'll be meatier!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Not the day before the Weird AL concert. I'll be busy all the 20th with my Czar experience.

Worst "season pass" of all time.

I'll download it, play the game for 24 hours, and then forget all about it. Again.

If the leaked slideshow slide is to be believed we'll have:

3 Missions
1 Strike
3 PvP maps (4 for playstation)
1 Raid

Expansion is certainly... generous.

My god..... that's the witcher 3 day.... it's going to be rough.

I'll be happy to see all my dgaffers back at it though!

Imagine if Destiny had a PvE mission creator. We'd get a hundred times the content Bungie's putting out at about the same level of quality.
