Activision announce Destiny House of Wolves DLC to drop on May 19th

So is The Reef going to be just a mission hub? Or will they have new places to explore.

Anyway, that was a neat trailer. Im glad they're gonna have a steady release of info from here on out. Next drop is on the 22nd.

Hype train is real

Expand your Destiny adventure with a wealth of weapons, armor, and gear to earn in new story missions, three new competitive multiplayer maps, and a new cooperative Strike. Expansion II introduces a new competitive elimination mode in the Crucible and an all-new arena activity – The Prison of Elders. The Reef is open. Join the Awoken and hunt down the Fallen rising against us.

So... no Raid? WTF Bungie?

Very bad decision, imo. The new content should've come out in early March to keep people's interest. I played Destiny almost exclusively until March, by now I've lost all interest, I'm not even logging in for the weekly events any more. I see the same on my friends list - the percentage of people playing Destiny at a given time dropped from about 90% to 10% in the past 1-2 months.

I will probably be back for the expansion, but I don't envision myself being nearly as invested as before...

The Queen is mad tho. I'm wit it. Bungie should let me Social Link with the Queen. Make her my Waifu and stuff. Max S. Link earns you an exotic gun of your choice.

Is look pretty certain right now that this doesn't have a traditional Raid. The datamining suggested that the thing in place of the raid was some kind of PvE battle arena and the blurb mentions an arena but no raid.

Pretty shit. Raids are by a huge margin destiny's best content.

there will definitely be a raid. They have 2 pieces of info coming 4/22, 2 on 4/29 1 on 5/6 and 1 on 5/8.

Have a feeling this one is gonna have more content then crota for sure

I'm not so sure. The datamining has always referred to PoE as an "arena" and now the official statement also refers to it that way instead of calling it a raid. It just seems odd if it is one.

we’ll just have to stare at the screen for an hour and a half waiting for the good part, which should be a familiar activity to anyone who plays Destiny.

This is so cold
and accurate

Well if we both played the dark below:

We both played

Mission 1 that reused the "The Blast" and "The Grottos" zone.

Mission 2 that gave us the new area "The Seraphim Vault"

Mission 3 that gave us the new area "Chamber of Night"

The Will of Crota strike gave us the new area "The Jovian Complex"

If you played on the PS4, The Undying mind strike gaves the new area in the Black Garden.

The Raid of the Dark Below takes place in what seems to be a totally undiscovered alternate dimension.

So you tell me, did we play the same content?

Actually, we played:

Mission 1 that reused two zones.
Mission 2 that opened up an area that has been in the game since day one.
Mission 3 that opened up an area that has been in the game since day one.
A strike that opened up an area that has been in the game since day one.

And, in addition to that, the mission basically requires players to hide in a hallway, exiting every once in a while to attack the boss, whose damage can kill them almost immediately (it's a problem with Valus Ta'aurc too).

The raid? Yeah. As far as we can tell, totally original. However, it's abundantly clear the raid wasn't playtested well, considering the massive amounts of glitches and exploits that plague the mission to this day. It's nowhere near the level of polish and thought of VoG.

Well I'm currently not playing Destiny but I'll be back in once this expansion hits. Hoping it has more content than the last, but I'm doubting it.

I haven't played in like 2 or 3 weeks either, because I got everything I need, but it gave me an opportunity to finally catch up on games that have been out the past 7 months. Once this comes out I'll be hooked, again

*Sigh*

Day one, I guess, I don't know. Sort of hyped.

Also, you can bet your ass this isn't going to have more content than TDB.

Please be more content than the dark below. It's going to take more than the first dlc's amount of content to make me delay witcher 3 and I don't have much gaming time. It's really one or the other.

Will take me to long to grind to 32 to even play it. Currently 29.

They will probably release gear to get you to 32 easily once it comes out. 32 takes a bit of grinding the raid and it will take a while if you don't have multiple characters.

Answered this already twice in this thread.

They will introduce a mechanic to let people skip ahead. I wouldn't worry.

What mechanic? It isn't too difficult to jump from 1 to 20, and so on. Just work on the Vanguard strikes, and upgrade your light gear.

This isn't like WoW when the game is over 10 years old, and the level cap is 100. When a third or fourth Destiny expansion is released, then maybe we will see such mechanic.

I'm pretty much in this same boat but I've just about decided to put my time towards The Witcher 3. If anything, I'll jump into Destiny later and hopefully some big initial bugs will be taken care of and hard mode will be open for the new raid so I can do multiple runs.

i'm pretty sure he means that level 32 gear will be released.

I would say that I like how Destiny is an easy game to pop in for a quick video game fix for 10-20 minutes. Whether it is doing some bounties, or a couple Crucibles, it has that fix that I like.

Witcher 3, on the other hand, is a game that I feel you need to set time aside for and invest into.

Addin up, TDB is pretty simplified to reach 30 (skipping VoG) without rep grinding unlike the vanilla game where you can get stuck on lv 26-27 if you dont rep gring or being carried to the first parts of VoG.
