Activision announce Destiny House of Wolves DLC to drop on May 19th

So damn hyped!

Took a much needed break earlier this year to catch up on some other games, and recently got back. Been playing steadily for the last month with co-workers and my clan and friends are on their "break" until this expansion drops.

Almost got my gear to 32 Light and will do a few more raids to see if Crota will STOP DICKING ME AROUND AND GIVE ME BETTER LOOT FFS

Can't wait for real.

Well if we both played the dark below:

We both played

Mission 1 that reused the "The Blast" and "The Grottos" zone.

Mission 2 that gave us the new area "The Seraphim Vault"

Mission 3 that gave us the new area "Chamber of Night"

The Will of Crota strike gave us the new area "The Jovian Complex"

If you played on the PS4, The Undying mind strike gaves the new area in the Black Garden.

The Raid of the Dark Below takes place in what seems to be a totally undiscovered alternate dimension.

So you tell me, did we play the same content?

All of those areas were possible to explore since release day. Some of them even since beta. Oh yeah. And since beta you could access King's Watch with a boss there (99% the boss and mobs would be the same on release of HoW though upped from lvl20 to lvl30).

All I know is they better not reset my exotics like last time, that's pretty much a gamebreaker for me....
even if they do that I'll still play :(

Whether or not the geometry was there, it wasn't part of the base game, and wasn't accessible to players outside of glitching/breaking the game.

Thus, it isn't reusing assets, because the assets haven't even been used yet.

WoW had the entire geometry for Outland 6 months before the Burning Crusade came out. Does that mean the Burning crusade was all reused assets?

Already answered.

Everyone get ready for one new raid and then a handful of stupid missions using recycled content and maps!!!!! Oh, and for good measure, they will add a handful of weapons that are terrible and no one will use!!

/cry

I'll be back but I don't have much hope...

I just don't like people spreading misinformation.

Someone asked what assets were being reused. Then someone responded "Earth and Venus" as if that was an actual valid response. As if it wasn't an attempt to circle jerk about how much someone doesn't like the game.

I don't mind pointing out and discussing Destiny's shortcomings. I just hate it when people spread misinformation because they love the idea of more people hating the game.

I found it ironic because I play the game and I post quite often in the community section then you jump like that and insult me even more.

And yes half of the DLC acivities are in Earth and Venus in places we already visited.

I really, really hope is not just a corridor and then the boss room like the dark below

I'm on the fence with this, so I'm just going to see how the reviews/GAF impressions are. If they've reworked the story presentation or multiplayer options though, that would definitely be an incentive booster.

If the leaked slideshow slide is to be believed we'll have:

3 Missions
1 Strike
3 PvP maps (4 for playstation)
1 Raid

Expansion is certainly... generous.

FFS, this is just so pathetic. Considering how bare the missions are, how are there not something like 20 new missions? Same with strikes... how do we only get 1 or 2?

As a Ghost Edition buyer I'm not excited for this at all. Bungie never let me down in the past. Not even during the Destiny Alpha and Beta. But when the game came out and everything was already in the beta it was a let down.

I mean you guys really shouldn't be surprised. Be excited about a few more exotics and the potential to have another good raid. That's all I'm hoping for. We need something to rival the vault of glass.

How big is the destiny team? Its got to be gigantic, right? What are they working on? Expansion 1 was a raid and a bounty board. Any hope expansion 2 is any better?

Gotta remember a lot of the team is focusing on developing Destiny 2. I wouldn't be surprised if the current destiny dev team is relatively small.

Do you remember the last batch of exotics they delivered? All were among the worst exotics in the game.

DLC 2 will be the same content-wise. The Destiny team is working on Comet expansion which is scheduled for September and probably Destiny 2.

Imagine if Destiny had a PvE mission creator. We'd get a hundred times the content Bungie's putting out at about the same level of quality.

God that's such an exciting prospect

I detest Destiny and everything it stands for - it would take something like that to make up for the 30 hours i put in before realising it's an empty, vacuous PoS

I can only answer with assumption, but I believe the majority of content is being funneled to the Comet and the Sequel.

Again, if we're going to follow the slideshow slide as possible, we have this to look forward to for the Comet:

  • 12 New Mission
  • 4 New Strikes
  • 1 New Public Event Type
  • 1 New Patrol Type (Possibly 1 New Patrol destination)
  • 1 New Raid
  • 6 New PvP Maps
  • 3 New Subclasses
  • 3 New Weapon Classes/Types

House of Wolves, the second expansion for Destiny, will be out in just over a month, publisher Activision announced today. We’ll be grinding again on May 19.

Activision sent out a media blast this morning with a new trailer for House of Wolves, but it’s currently private. They say they sent the news early by accident and that the video will actually be live at 1pm ET today, so we’ll just have to stare at the screen for an hour and a half waiting for the good part, which should be a familiar activity to anyone who plays Destiny.
That's really unprofessional.

I would imagine a large part is working on Destiny 2 for 2016. Another big group is probably focused on Comet #1 this fall.

These two expansions probably had their foundation and basic structure mapped out a good deal before launch and have probably been content complete for some time. Don't expect anything big from them. They're designed to be hold over stuff until the big fall release.

It really is insulting, how little content. With the 2 DLCs, that's it over a year's period? Seriously? This right here, that should be an expansion pack that was released 4 months after release. I don't know wtf takes so long to give us so little. Strikes are literally the pre-existing game content, but with more enemies. That's it. I feel like Bungie is just stringing me along until they release Destiny 2.

Expand your Destiny adventure with a wealth of weapons, armor, and gear to earn in new story missions, three new competitive multiplayer maps, and a new cooperative Strike. Expansion II introduces a new competitive elimination mode in the Crucible and an all-new arena activity – The Prison of Elders. The Reef is open. Join the Awoken and hunt down the Fallen rising against us.

prison of the elders?

Oh, is that really the same day as The Witcher III? HAHAHAHA, no. Will download it and Raid on the weekends. It can fuck off during the week, though.
