None of this surprises me. Larger companies always have a few people like this. My company had an employee choke slam a girl that bumped into him at our xmas party.

Thats right he choke slammed her to the floor for he accidentally bumping him right in front of the entire company. He was fired the next day, but there are always a few retards like this.

Another company i worked at had fights in the office. Im talking, knock over computers type scraps. As well as unwanted advances on female employees

It's not surprising in the least.

I bet that a majority of these Billion dollar corporate Companies have this shit, but they are just better at hiding or paying people off to keep their mouth shut.

It's a valid question, the story is missing a fair bit of context. How did they get access to nude pictures of someone, or were they sharing already public stuff?

We had a similar situation in the UK where a teacher had an onlyfans and some students found it and shared the pictures, the teacher ended up being fired (?) And then sued the council.

We had a GAF thread about that girl who got Chris Avellone fired then people found her porn video, which was linked to and discussed in the thread. Are we a boys club now too?

I love to dunk on Activision but any company with 1000+ staff is going to have bad apples, I find these reports too shocking to be something endorsed by the company itself, it's not like riot where they had literal bedrooms in the office for staff to have sex on.
Teacher was fired because they are not allowed to have onlyfans accounts because teachers are required to have unblemished opinion in community.

I'm actually shocked that someone is trying to defend that. Is that really that hard to understand?
You get nudes from someone, then you don't share them.
You get someone else nudes from other person, then you don't share them and delete them. Preferably before opening them if you can.
You found your coworker onlyfans/pornhub/whatever account you don't share it with people in work.

Leave private life of your coworkers alone. If you think they damage company reputation with what they are doing in private time then go to HR with that, don't make someone else private life public.

Totally true, but this brings up the question - why a company should to be involved into two individuals affair then? The dude turned out to be a total dick, happens, nothing new, many guys are exactly like that and share personal pics of girls/women they're not really into and treat them as nothing but a temporary fun, but then again, guys wouldn't have anything to share if they didn't get those kind of pics in the first place.
Because sharing someone nudes is crime (on top of being absolutely immoral) and you don't want to employ criminals. Not reacting for situation like that makes you (and whole company) accomplice in that crime.

Well obviously!

The question is can you hold and employer responsible for it happening between staff outside of work.

This is terrible. That headline really does not do justice to the accusations.

I think we have all become rather numb to the usual complaints of sexual harassment, but this really takes it to another level.

I've been hanging onto my WoW account now by a thread through some enjoyment of TBC classic since retail wow is an utter disaster, but I think I'm done for good now.

I bet it's rampant in Google and Facebook but because they're woke virtue signalers California doesn't go after them.

Meh, I bet most big male-dominated companies are like this. This is just California going after Republican-leaning CEO or it just wants to extract more money from successful businesses. It seems we are living at a time when people confuse accusations and verdicts. People want quick justice and don’t care about judicial process. There are jerks in every company or sphere of life but we keep judging whole package based on acts of few individuals. Of course when you have vast majority of male employees there’s gonna be male-dominated culture. Would be same if it was reversed.

I mean the people who are in the investigation are game devs and I can bet they weren't voting Trump.

How do you think this investigation got started in the first place?

I don't know, nowadays many people seem to prefer to post stuff on social media instead of going to the actual law/legal services, or just stay quiet because the pay is good... If they did that's awesome, but the question is how many cases were indeed reported, and reported immediately, not after 5th, 8th, 14th etc. time, and how many weren't at all and would never see the surface if it wasn't for the investigation? Which still, the investigation took quite some time, so does any police investigation after they receive a report, so like I said, it's all about the 1-to-1 human experience first and foremost, drawing the line and not allowing anyone to cross it, because at the end of the day it's you who knows best if someone is violating you dignity/privacy or not, you are the one who sets the boarders.

And ultimately, if you feel you're in a toxic, hostile environment that's not going to change anytime soon and you feel hopeless about it, you can always leave, no one is keeping you there. I worked in a company where mobbing was practiced on a daily basis, but everyone seemed to be "happy" with it because at the end of each month we received a really fat paycheck, but I didn't like that working environment, at all, so after a while of pointless (because in reality it was just me vs 40 other people who didn't mind, at least officially) discussions with the managers I decided to simply quit and move on, instead of purposely staying there because the money's good but let myself treat like a trash instead, literally like an Excel cell because that's how big corporation see their employees as.

If you give permission for others to exploit you they will, that's a human nature, sadly. Now, I don't want to sound like what's going on in Acti/Blizz is the victims fault, god forbid, but I firmly believe many of those situation wouldn't happen if people opposed during the very first attempt. They could potentially get fired, granted, but that's not an end of the world, there are infinite jobs and workplaces out there, whereas accepting stuff like sexual harassment etc. just because it brings you money each month will leave a mark no money and court decision can compensate.

Because sharing someone nudes is crime (on top of being absolutely immoral) and you don't want to employ criminals. Not reacting for situation like that makes you (and whole company) accomplice in that crime.

Fully agree, but a company simply can't control what their employees are doing in their free time. The company is not responsible for the fact that the couple was meeting, having sex, sharing spicy photos, etc. for months, which they probably did in secret and were hiding from everyone, while it was a split of a second when the dude decided to share the photos and then it's too late, the woman is gone and no one can bring her back. It was an awful, gross move from him and he should totally take consequences for that, but like I said, it would never happen is he never had any photos to share, and it just boggles my mind how anyone would want to share such pics with anyone in the company where apparently the sexist atmosphere/practices was a damn well know issue within the company for so long.

Except in this example company knew and did nothing for years.

For what though? Owning a butt-plug?

The only fact offered is that he was her superior; without knowing further details who's to say whether their personal relationship preceded their professional one or whether he was responsible for sharing the alleged vagina pix.

Its kinda worrying to me because ostensibly the complaint is against the institution and its practices and not specific individuals. And yet the way this is couched in innuendo the implication is that the male partner is actively responsible for a death, when an impartial reading of the facts would make him another victim of a tragedy.

I mean, he better had be responsible because if his only crime was to be in an active sexual relationship with a co-worker who chose to commit suicide for other reasons, this is straight-up defamation for political/legalistic expediency.

Ask me about my Stream Deck
Blizzard was already really tanking from a product portfolio standpoint in my opinion. The push for mobile, the loot crate garbage, shitty remasters, selling collections of games they were previously offering for free... And all this behind the scenes garbage. Holy Calamafuck

This is so fucked up by itself it should basically bring down the whole company.

Can you imagine the rage they'd face in this era if they had an item still active in WoW that references a movie that a segment of people call transphobic now?

Or it could be construed as tainting the entire complaint and get the whole thing thrown out.

Time will tell I guess.

Having a sexual relationship with your co-worker as a superior generally is an automatic firing. I cannot tie that relationship to her suicide as we do not know the specific details.

But it's a big no-no to date subordinates in ANY professional work environment. At least in all of the places I worked.

It's a good rule to live by, including subordinates dating their managers. However, that does not make it any less horrible for him to spread nudes around the office. Douchbag probably couldn't wait to "show off" to his co-worker buddies.

They're probably just going to move to Texas
and hire older women. They recently hired a Trump Admin Official and I don't doubt the pettiness of corrupt Cali politics.
If the leads are known for retaliation they will do so.

WHAT?!!! Maybe in Fantasy Land.

I read the complaint. It's going to be difficult proving the promotion and equal pay complaints. If ONLY the most qualified and tenured received a promotion, that would be paradise. We all have been in that position and left jobs because of shit like that. I have had women supervisors that only promoted women. Ive been sexually harrassed by a female coworker and a couple of my fellow female coworkers overheard it and reported it to hr. Nothing happened to the girl (it wasnt anything I was really bothered by, I wouldn't reprt it, but if I said the same shit she said to me to a girl....I would be fired and shot lol) You are offered a salary, you can ask for more, accept, or decline. You usually don't know how much your co workers are making unless you have that awkward conversation with them. Work sucks.

Companies WILL try to lowball you unless you are at the top of your field and what you do is in demand. People make bonuses for doing just that. Why do you think they ask you your salary range or expectations when interviewing? These people agreed to that salary. I have made less than female and male employees doing the same job with them having less qualifications. It happens all the time. So yeah, proving this...it's California, where I live, so these employees will probably receive a payout. Good for them as, if anything, the company was just low balling. It probably had nothing to do with sexist or racism as every company does this.

As for the sexual harassment, hopefully the victims reported all this shit to HR when it happened, went to the cops, documented shit etc. If so....big payday. Especially if the company had multiple reports and did nothing. The crude jokes and guy acting like a douche at a party... that happens at every company I've ever worked at. People get drunk and act like assholes. Also, I thought the butt plug inclusion was incredibly odd. Why did they mention that with NO context? Did he force her to use that, did he threaten her? I guess we will find out.

I understand the rationale but I don't think that employers should have the right to control every aspect of their staff's personal lives and emotions. And its certainly not the state's right to mandate it legally.

What the fuck does Trump have to go with this? Conservatives complain when they are painted with a broad brush without knowing anything about the individual but here you are doing exactly that. Both sides do the goddamn same thing they hate about the other.

Supervisor from my company got fired after dating one of his subordinates. It varies from company to company. But many companies I've worked for have this policy. Dating co-workers is fine. But dating subordinates in many places is considered inappropriate due to the power dynamic. At least on the East Coast.

In this case I think it is protections for conflicts of interest.

I hate Activision and used to adore anything Blizzard. I'm waiting till all the facts come out (if they ever do) before making a final judgment on things. I'm sure there's a tremendous amount of gray area around all of this, where it's not as black and white as some people think it is. I'm not going to deny that I'm sure there was some bad apples in Blizzard that needs/needed the heave-ho, but proper context of everything is also needed. For example, depending on the state you live in, simply complimenting a female coworker that she looks good today (i.e. "Hey Backy, you're looking great today." as an example) can be used against you and be called serial harassment. It's not just reserved to unwanted groping or whatnot, it's not threatening a job firing if you don't sleep with the boss. It can be just as simple as that. I won't say that this is all it was, as I'm sure there's some dirty behavior going on, but in this age in which we all know how freely the #metoo accusations can easily get outtahand and fired off too readily, so too can these as well.

I'll wait for more evidence before I condemn or exonerate anyone.

Fare thee well

Neophyte
I've heard similar shit about Rockstar too sadly. Wonder if any of it is true or how much is true?

Blizzard has needed to be put down since Bobby showed up, so this would only serve to solidify that stance for me.

I thought it was shitty Blizzard banning that player for supporting Hong Kong, this is something else though.

Some right shitty opinions in here about that lassy commiting suicide in here aswell.

Just because you have nudes of a lass, doesn't mean ya free to send them all about in the office. Cunt behaviour.
If I understand correctly, people aren’t saying it’s okay to share nude. Why is Activision the corporation responsible for their employees revenge porn?

What the fuck does Trump have to go with this? Conservatives complain when they are painted with a broad brush without knowing anything about the individual but here you are doing exactly that. Both sides do the goddamn same thing they hate about the other.

I'm still going to get D2 and the new WWII COD.

Dont care about office politics. If everyone out there really wants to base what they buy on corporate shenanigans, you might as well start digging into google to check for company stupidity and lawsuits because just about every big company has been sued or had people fired. Find enough data and you'll never buy anything.

It's just that for gaming, the industry is so egotistical and public with social media and dirt digging you know more than let's say all the junk that has happened at every office building and bottling plant for Pepsi for the past 100 years.
